Batman has the opportunity to be the first great superhero trilogy (Spiderman is good, but Batman will be better)... before it all the series got screwed up at some point (Batman Forever, B&R, Superman 3 and 4, Blade Trinity)

Agreed but all this JLA movie talk makes me nervous and makes me think we will end up with only two Nolan Batman films. WB will find a way to F it up.

Anything is a possibility at this point, I think its a good sign that WB is exploring all the options.

they are very good at this. afterall they made catwoman after B&R. they spend after 10 years 200 milions on a superman movie without big action scenes. i thought that the studio wants to make a big profit.

they will f.. it up. i hope they will do this after three batman movies and at least another singer sueprman movie.

Bat-Man needs more help than Superman today, simply because he is a normal citizen while the other is an alien. Haven't you realize all Gotham villains are a version of Joker, funny and freaky? JLA needs individual movies introducing each charater, including a Flash remake. Then all together for the last in Superman. DC are iconic symbols while Marvel are warriors. You just can't bring a JL movie sequence unless they fight the world, that part belongs to Marvel which is Hulk, Thor, etc.

Guys, the Justice League flick wont be ready to put into pre production for a long time. Their plan is that it's Batman VS. Superman with supporting characters to help sell the film/launch franchises.

Why would it take so long to go into pre-production?

Dear DeepThroatWB,

Please tell WB that they must leave Nolan alone and allow him to do at least 3 Batman films. And while you're at it, mention that they should allow Singer to complete his 3 Superman movies as well. Thank you. :yay:

The time it'll take to get a story thats good, and then the script thats right, will take a while. You can get lucky like Batman Begins or get mixed results like with Superman Returns when you greenlight a film based on the story. With a film that would be so important, I can't imagine they'd make it unless it was perfect because if it was a dissappointment, it would be a career-and-franchise killer for all involved.

Obviously.

the budget will be astronomical i imagine.

but they can really hit big at the Box office if they put a good creative team.

that being said ,i know about the writers signed , but does any directors ideas has been mentionned?

The concept of the film is Batman Vs. Superman with other heros. Take X-men 1 or 2, or even 3, and replace Logan & Xavier's rolls with Bruce Wayne/Batman, and make Superman into Storm & Scotts/Jeans rolls combined, and you have the screen time Batman and Superman have. The other heros are planned to be mere supporting characters, who would branch off into their own films based on popularity(aside from they see it reigniting the Batman and Superman franchises, which would be in their post-Nolan/Bale-Singer/Routh stages at this point). The plan is for Justice League to be made as the next Superman/Batman sequel after the 3rd or 4th of each series, and would introduce new actors. Like how Casino Royale opened small due to a new actor as Bond, Warners fears when Routh and Bale are done, the franchises may be done to. So, by combining "forces", the box office potential inceases a lot. An aweful lot.

So if that is truely the case then you are saying Justice League is so far down the road it is not even worth talking about right now.

I don't see why everyone assumes Singer's non-Superman project will delay the shooting for the sequel. I mean, right after Batman Begins, Christopher Nolan did The Prestige, a film with a much smaller budget and scope. The shooting for that movie only took 3 months to complete (January-April 2006) and the film was released in October.

If McQuarrie's script is already complete and Singer starts shooting the movie by this summer, he'll have the film completed before shooting for the SR sequel is slated to begin. He'll have a relatively small budget (if Cruise does come on the project, then the budget of the film will inevitably go up because of Cruise's pay demands) and Singer won't have as much time in post-production like he did on SR to complete it.

Any update?

Not much except that Variety went back on their initial "delay" news to say that Singer was merely making the WWII thriller before starting up Man of Steel next year. And Stax at IGN has backed that up as well. So, basically, it looks like everyone got up in arms over nothing.

Robin takes Bat-Man's fate with the wrestler in 3! JL would be safe... cheap comics. Let the hero be self sufficient, they can only join once. And again by relating DC with Marvel, Captain America won't be needing a co as a leader. Anything could affect the course.

They suggested directors?

Hello my friend. :yay:

I think they could do it on Greenscreen like the Star Wars prequels and keep the costs around $170 million. If it does aroound 500 million worldwide + toys, merchandise and TV rights you're looking at Billions.

Look what was done with 300 on a 60 million budget. It is becoming more and more probable.
