Yes on the order. And yes, there's some prereading that is important, one arc only, but I don't think it was ever collected: It crossed over between Uncanny X-Men 369-370 and X-Men 88-90. I think it starts as if it's already running but it's starting from something that happens on the very last page of the previous issue that has nothing to do with the rest of that issue, so this is the best beginning. It also seems like it ends on a cliffhanger but the next issue does little with it and they just say they got out of it with nor problem on a side mention and the story continued into the last arc prior to the Shattering (which has nothing to do with the Shattering story itself and is skipable).

As for X-Men books worth reading right now... I'm not big on X-Factor but it's a decent read at least. Uncanny X-Force has been fantastic. X-23 has been interesting so far. I've personally enjoyed X-Men Legacy because I enjoy student books and there's a lot of the students in that one but most are bored of it from what I can tell.
Thank you.

No, but they did look each other in the eye during a devils threeway.....ever since then.....while they're still bros.....they don't really like to be in the same room with each other.

I want to say no, but I haven't read every appearance of either character. I know they were allies for at least the past thousand years, since they were instrumental in setting up the pact between all of Earth's pantheons to stand against the Celestials' Fourth Host. They sat on the Council Elite of Godheads together too, and Zeus mentioned to Thor that he respected Odin a lot when the Council Elite was testing Thor for admission into their ranks after he became King of Asgard.

How old approximately is Quicksilver, son of Magneto? Despite the prematurely white hair he seems like one of those eternally young, i.e. under 30, characters.

I'd say he's somewhere in his 30s. He and Wanda were about the same age as the original five X-Men, weren't they? The original X-Men all seem to be in their late 20s or early 30s now.

His hair isn't prematurely white, either. It's supposed to be platinum blonde--so light it just appears white.

He does? He's always seemed Mid 30's to me. Course first time I read anything with him in it he was well past his impulsive *****e bag status. By then he was just an impatient *****e bag.

Either way he's the same age as his sister. They're both likely a few years older than Spidey so, early to mid 30's.

The way some Marvel men fear the #30, who knows...

I figured, I made a bad joke.

They fought briefly in the early part of the Celestial story arc. It wasn't long enough to be considered a true fight though. More of a squabble. I don't recall the details though.

I saw in my shop today a TPB of Young Allies. has anybody read that? I've always liked teen teams books but I'm a little wary of any ensemble book written my McKeever after what he did in Teen Titans.

It bored me into dropping it, but Dread liked it. It wasn't nearly as horrible to the individual characters as McKeever's Teen Titans was, though. If that's the only thing keeping you from trying it out, I'd say go for it.

thanks, Corp.

it also just feature a bunch of no-name characters that I don't know much about, so I'm worried about being lost in the history of obscure young characters.

Is that mini connected to the Young Allies story, or is it a stand-alone mini?

It's a stand alone mini, about one of the members of the Young Allies. Or at least where he came from. He also was a pretty big part of that mini series, Beyond, (which was also good) and that FF run where Reed and Sue got replaced by BP and Storm. Okay as long as you remember that BP was just making a show for Stardust. He couldn't really put the Surfer in a cosmic arm bar.

I figure his that aga as well.

I like that the X-Men have actully aged and Marvel hasn't tried to keep the characters kids for ever. The exception being mutants that are usually the youngest on a X-team such as Jubilee, Wolfsbane and Kitty Pryde who seem to age slower than everyone else in the mutant verse.

The New Mutants I guess are probably in their early to mid twenties now.

Always worth noting.

Actually Pietro and Wanda are at least 20-30 years older than the original X-men. The only reason they look so young is bc the twins were placed in stasis by the High Evolutionary for decades shortly after they were born. Id say they are really abou 50-60 although physically they are much younger than that

Also his hair is supposed to be white. Thats always been the official listing of it according to Marvel. Magneto's went white at a very young age and I believe Pietro was born that way. He is supposed to be like Storm with the hair but being representative of aging but rather genes

Isn't Magneto supossed to be like 40 or 50 now because of the de-aging thing when he got turned into a baby and then back to an adult back in the day.

Xavier is supposed to be youngish too as his in a cloned body

I don't know. The New Mutants come accross older than early-20's by far. To me, they come accross mid to late 20's while the X-Men come accross early to mid 30's. The Generation X kids are now early 20's. Jubilee was the youngest of that bunch and I want to say she was mentioned as being 19 recently, though I don't recall where I read that. That still feels too young for me being that the New X-Men kids are around 14-16 years old, but oh well.

When you're on your 4th, almost 5th generation of X-Students I guess you can only be so far apart before aging the earliest generations. Note: I mentally combine the X-Men as one generation prior to New Mutants. I'm not sure if that's accurate but that's how it works in my head. I just don't see the original group as being older or different really than the All New All Different (especially since Wolverine and Banshee are definately older).

Ever since the Kitty Pryde thing were Warren Ellis wrote her as 18/19 in Excalibur in the 90s only some writer in UXM to write she was 16 which was stupid.

In New X-Men a couple years ago when Wolfsbane hooked up with Elixir they said Rahne was 18 and Josh was 16. We have seen the New Muntants drinking in a bar and some of them have gone to college already so they got to be in their twenties.

Jubilee was 13 and a half in Generation X for some reason and in her short solo comic she was in high school. She can't be older the Rahne. Chamber (Decible) went to college, drunk alcohol and was 18 when he joined Gen X so his got to be atleast 21 by now

The sad truth about the different generations of X-Men is that there's a lot of crossover in their ages. Iceman, Rogue, Cannonball, and Karma should all be pretty close in age. Wolfsbane is roughly the same age as Husk. Jubilee is about the same age as Pixie and Prodigy. The youngest member in one group tends to be the same age as the oldest in the next group.

is storm supposed to sound the way she did in the 90's cartoon? her voice when using her powers always annoyed me
