Benjamin Walker (28, 6'3"). Had a role in 'Flags of Our Fathers'. Looks a bit like Reeve in that first pic.

Ok people, take a good look and memorize once and for God damn all, THIS is what a proper Superman build looks like.
Huge wide frame which makes his head look small in comparison and broad shoulders as well. The rest can be toned as desired.
This is the right type of build that who ever plays superman should have. Nothing short of this is acceptable.

I'd never thought of him before, but I like his look. He's a really good actor, too. :yay:

And you're right. Except for maybe Hammer the rest have no goddamn chance. The problem with your post is that you told them the truth...:cwink:
no the problem with his post is he felt he was entitled to have a suggestion that met his needs and felt like it was our fault for not suggesting his supes.

it's a great thing to have an "opinion". :cwink:

im not going to just go with the crowd and settle for an actor i do not want. so far not many in this thread impress me for sups. these casting threads are sort of a joke as were hardly ever right on who they pick for the roles.

Then suggest someone yourself and dont belittle peoples chocies as not good enough that dont impress you. I can even imagine you with your arms folded with the way you posted in that tone.

dont slam people's suggestion and favorites and not bring one to the table

i never slammed anyone in this thread. and the two i want cast i cannot mention.

i have a few theories but i do not want to get banned for saying them on here. i will say i do have a feeling we won't hear casting news until a certain series on the CW ends. :cwink: even if it's not related.
you can talk about welling now..
a couple or three weeks ago the ban was lifted...see, watch..

hmmm... interesting and a good choice by the mods. :awesome:

well i know routh is out because snyder already said so but he did not count out tom yet. i have a few theories on this and smallvilles ending, im going to post a youtube video about it later.

my vote is for welling or hamm. now be easy on me guys!

heres a preview of what im dreaming even if it does not happen.

smallville ending: my ideal ending would be a shot of superman on the daily planet roof then shoot over to a scene where lex "micheal" is looking at him with utter hatred and then gives us one of his famous evil smiles!.... scene ends, goes to black screen and we see... to be continued! :applaud

then we can start the synder movie with sups year one!

i know almost all of you will disagree but i think tom at least deserves a screen test, that's all i ask.

I dunno man..i'd see it of course but I think it's about 3 or 4 years too late for TW to play supes on the big screen..It's not impossible, but pretty unlikely imo.

not trying to over debate this but how so? when synder comes out and says no then ill let it be. no reason welling cannot be screen tested for it.
Don't listen to him, he's pretty much a hater and and a die hard Routh fan, meaning that any mention of Welling and you will get responded with **** like " it's impossible".

For the last time..

They aren't doing a Smallville based movie. The producers of Smallville itself confirmed there are no plans to continue Smallville into a motion picture some months back.

Warner Bros would not have brought in Nolan/Goyer to write THEIR vision/take on Superman if they were just going to continue the approach of the CW drama.

Also, we got confirmation in the official casting call for Superman that the studio is looking to test undiscovered talent who have had lesser known past roles/work who they can "mold into a star." Welling is already known as the 'Smallville guy' worldwide thanks to Smallville. He doesn't fit the official criteria here of what they are looking for in casting Superman.

Synder isn't going to come out and mention Welling. TW and Smallville are 100% irrelevant to this project. That is why ZS never addressed him.

to each their own but i disagree.

This isn't a 'to each their own' situation. If the producers say there are no plans to continue Smallville on the big screen, then there are no plans.

Where did you read this? Last I read, the producers were open to doing more Smallville related stuff if they were given the opportunity. And the latest rumor on the net is that something could happen. Who knows if its true, but if it is, then it would obviously take Welling out of consideration for this feature film.

I just saw the Kevin Spacey/Bosworth movie "21" last night It struck me as weird because the main kid in that had an interesting, if not young Clark Kent thing about him. Think his name was Jim Sturgess or something. Too young looking if you ask me, but i figured I'd throw his name out there.

Snyder came out and said this is a totally new take on supes and has no connections to any superman that came before it.

that not only discounts routh but welling as well

I think the casting of the next Supeman movie will be largely defined by the style that Snyder employs for the film. The one thing I've noticed is that no two Snyder films look alike. I have a feeling that the next Superman will be more serious then the past. I don't think there is a perfect actor to play Superman but I think there are versatile actors that can play the Superman right for Snyder. I'm expecting a great actor.

Can I ask a question?

Can anyone give me an example, of a movie that cast the same actor for the main character as the one who played him in a television show that also explored that character (though in a totally different way)? One that is not based on the television show?

I personally can't think of any... but i'm sure, if people are ACTUALLY SERIOUS that Tom Welling stands a chance of playing Superman in the new film, that there must be one instance in Hollywood where something like this has happened before.
