I would be fine with Manganiello as Superman. He has the stature, overall look and contrary to what some seem to think, he is a very good actor. Comparing him to Routh alone he could be considered a fine actor. The nose is not an issue and if it were, its not something that can't be fixed. He wouldn't need to work on the build at all. Perhaps we will finally get a manly-looking Man of Steel.

I don't know who made the above manip, but I like it.

wow...now who could argue with that.

I have to say, i'm leaning toward preferring Joe. ( now watch it get debunked )

Joe may also attract the twilight/vampire lover demographic. And then if they cast ashley green as lois OH LAWD.

Not that I care to see ashley as lois, I think there are much better actors for the job.

Armie Hammer.

Who is the guy in the pic above? He looks good as Superman.
Joe Manganiello....the guy we are talking about.
the link a couple of pages back said he is a finalist for the role.

Unless they find some amazing unknown, at least with Cavill, Armie Hammer, and Joe Manganiello (even Routh) we know that there are some pretty decent candidates to select from.

He is a good pick if they're going for someone over 30. Wish they wouldn't though honestly.

Armie Hammer for Supes! :woot:

The only possible advantage to hammer being cast that I can see, is maybe a slight edge in acting skill. Otherwise, joe has a superior look, voice, body, naturally black hair, and a cheery disposition. I think the main thing holding me back about hammer is he seems to have almost a mopey disposition. Very reminiscent of teenage clark in STM.

That manip of Joe M is probably the best manip of a possible candidate in this entire thread. If Snyder didn't know about him (which undoubtably he does) and he was shown that picture he'd have to be blind not to see the potential. If JM hasn't had an audition/screentest that picture would imo secure it for him.

Good point, I admit. Remember, Hammer has been cast as Batman before. Which is sort of, well, the opposite of Supes. So it's not surprising he has a bit of a gloomy disposition. Then again, like Jon Lovitz said on SNL, they do call it ACTING for a reason.

I would rather the part go to the better actor than go to Joe based on looks.

I'm talking about Hamm as Jonathan, not Clark.:cwink:

And he turns 40 this year and he looks it; not in a bad way. He doesn't look older or younger than his actual age.

I would agree if we were talking about a non actor.. and i'm even not sure about that, i know ton of people who are older than him and look younger than him.. and ditto about this generation of actor, most of 40 year old actor look younger than him. People look younger this day, and especially in hollywood.

Hamm himself claim that he always looked ten year older than his actual age.

ps: You made yourserlf clear earlier that you were talking about Hamm as Jonathan, sorry for the misunderstanding ;)

A frontrunner... meaning possibly more are up for it...

Exactly. i don't know why people keep saying that he is rumored to be The front runner. i read A front runner.

As long as joe could pass for someone in his early or mid 20s, I can see them overlooking it for the true blood demographic.
