Showtime never alluded that it's going to be an older Superman. He said that IF they were going for an OLDER SUPERMAN, then he would pick Jon Hamm

Run a search, it was probably in this thread. Better yet Showtime can chime in. I thought he said something about them leaning towards a more established older Superman. Let's ask him, could have been what he said or maybe I misunderstood it with the flow of discussion. No big deal.

I'm pretty sure he did say something about established older Superman this time around. People are wrong all the time, so I could be. Ask Showtime cause I'd hate for anyone to speak for him. I guess some people follow his words closer, the Mod God of Superman forum. lol

Sorry, dude. He did not.

The only thing we know is that supposedly, the new movie is being treated not as a reboot or a sequel; just a Superman movie ala James Bond. So he's established but at no time did Showtime say he's actually an older Superman. The chances are there but it just depends on the creative direction with the casting.

In theory, Brandon Routh's Superman's established too. Keep that in mind.

Oh maybe when he said established I thought "older" automatically or something. No big deal, thanks for clearing it up for me

I still think Jim Caviezel would be great regardless of age. The thing is though, once you cast an older superman you can't really go to young for lois especially if the superman actor looks older.

This guy woulda been great too for a more "physical" Supes.

Probably, but the bottom-pic just looks like a pissed off Supes. Hippie-style.

It is true he is gay. But I don't think he is open about it. A photo of him kissing a dude surfaced and he did not deny anything, cause he had no choice. However he won't discuss his sexuality in interviews at all.

Regardless if I disagree with the gay lifestyle, I just don't think he is right for Superman. He seems to slight in stature and his acting is not all that interesting to me. I never found his acting too "feminine" though.

I have absolutely no problem with an actors sexuality. I've been watching White Collar, and not once did I feel the guy was acting in any way 'feminine' or 'gay'. He plays a total ladies man.

My first attempt kind of sucked, but here ya go.

I can totally get on board with Fox, but i'm not sure the rest of the world can stop assosiating him with Lost.

Butler was a better Batman choice imo.

He would have made an amazing Batman.

That said, clean shaven he might not make a bad Superman either, and he would look great next to bale and Reynolds.

sorry if this has already been discussed but a little follow up to recent rumors over at Moviehole confirm that Tom Welling (and Ian Somerhalder ???) are not being considered for Superman.

The writer also suggests this guy (as a personal choice) Noah Bean

"Jonathan Nolan is in talks to direct, and that a popular TV star is the frontrunner to play the lead role in (He's not referring to Tom Welling from "Smallville" or Ian Somerhalder from "The Vampire Diaries" either. Ryan Seacrest is **** outta luck, too). You know who I think would be good? This guy, Noah Bean, played Rose Byrne's dead boyfriend on the first season of "Damages". A little bit too Brandon Routh, maybe?"

So what does that mean? Nothing?

However for a film, he still looks good for his age.

That pic of Caviezel just shows how kick ass he would be as Superman!

ah i didnt see that where did he say?

On twitter Clint said it was one of 2 names, Hamm or Padalecki. Showtime confirmed Padalecki is not a possibility.

So it was Hamm, doesn't mean he's been cast or anything. Just someone Clint thinks will get looked at.

How does Showtime know? Answer me Showtime!! Answer me you elusive S.O.B:woot:

I was asking Adenjo about this. A long time ago, at least on other forums, people liked Eion Bailey a lot. I don't see him suggested on here, but many thought he would look good with Bale. LOL Bale and Bailey, sorry... Had to laugh :D Anyways this is what he looks like.

Why Hamm and Padalecki? Age-wise it wouldn't make sense.

Didn't Bailey also try out for Batman? Anyways... yup, he looks the part sort of, but like Bomer a bit on the short side.

He got bigger though...

Here's another short-arse candidate, Matthew Settle who even does a Welling-impersonation.
