The problems with Thor is that it's best action sequence takes place at the 25 minute mark and nothing, absolutely nothing comes even remotely close to matching it. It's like the first Iron Man film. The second act action sequence at the village and then with the F-22's is the best of that film. Iron Man's showdown with Iron Monger pales in comparison.
Also, Thor's humility is too quick. I'm not saying that Hemsworth isn't acting genuine when he does become humble but it's just too quick. He learned but he didn't learn enough in order to earn that moment to reclaim what was his. I had less of a problem with his relationship with Jane than I did with his sudden humble side.
With his relationship with Jane, Branagh made a clear note to linger on the first time Thor lays eyes on Jane. For Thor, that was it. And with their subsequent scenes together where Thor sees how far Jane's willing to go for her research and for him, that just adds why he would fall for her.
For Jane, she looks at Thor as a subject at first but even that is a facade. She was smitten the moment he bid her goodbye and kissed her hand.
So, I don't see a problem with their love story, if that's what you want to call it. But, Thor's arc is not completely earned. We needed another two scenes with Thor learning more about himself and humanity for us to buy the turn.
