Hopefully my bro Cuhail, will see Thor at a drive-inn and review that version. We haven't seen a review of a drive-inn version yet.

This was such an amazing movie, definitely surpassed my expectations.
The only thing that worries me is how high expectations are going to be for Thor in the Avengers.
This was an origin movie and I felt like we were just scratching the surface of his power, but will they be able to deliver the full monty?

Let's hope so, I mean dealing with a large group might mean being vague about Some of Thor's powers, if they need to focus more on the story.

I dread the answer, but what is the projected runtime for the Avengers?
IMO it would need to be over 2 hours in order to keep with the quality of the franchises so far.

Did your GF ended up telling you that she's glad you took her to see Thor instead of Something Borrowed?

She liked the movie (not as muchas I did) but didn't say anything about being glad we skipped Something Borrowed. Something tells me I'll end up seeing that sooner or later.

There is no projected runtime yet. They've only been filming for a few weeks.

How could there be a projected runtime for a movie that just started filming?

I haven't heard anything on a run time.

Thor did so much awesome stuff in this movie, I don't really expect it to be topped in Avengers, but I hope there'll at least be something on the same level as the Frost Giant battle. He needs to do something epic. I don't want Destroyer or Loki moments.

If there's a script they can guess on the time.

Exactly, since they have begun shooting that means they have a concrete enough idea of what scenes they'll be filming and from there it should be easy to come up with a fairly accurate estimation.

The advantage that the Avengers movie has is that all the main characters will have been introduced and developed, yet they'll be plenty of things to string together as well as new characters to introduce.

8/10 - Somewhat corny, somewhat predictable, but still excellent. Hemsworth was great and the characters had enough depth to make me care about them. I thought the transitions between Asgard and Earth were seemless, and it never lingered on one long enough to make it akward to transition back. I loved the slanted camera angles on Earth that suggested that something was awry (i.e. a god walking around Earth).

I'm typically not one for special effects, but these were spectacular. Take note, directors and cinematographers: this is how you handle effects. Everything seemed tangible and real, even though it was completely other-wordly. Asgard just completely blew me away.

Also loved the little easter eggs, and the doors that have been opened. Classic Marvel fare, up there with X2 and Iron Man in my book.

When it comes to Avengers, they'll have much less excuse for hedging their bets with a trimmed down run time like they did here with Thor(Cap may get that treatment as well). But Avengers is no time to be timid.

Oh man...Drive-In's...I haven't been to one of those in ages. Good times.

Yeah There's not many left up north of Chicago. Heh when I was a teen, there WAS a drive-inn with four screens.....ALL X rated. lol Not sure it's still there. lol

We used to have one here but it closed when I was still a kid. When Raiders of the Lost Ark came out I went with my parents to see it. I was just a wee lad.

If I had a little capital and enough faith in people to patronize the thing I'd open one but there must be a reason there aren't hardly any left.

The last Drive-In in Austria closed two weeks ago. There was a reason for that. Nobody went there anymore. There are probably cheaper places to procreate...

I honestly knew nothing about Thor other than he was a god and had a *****in Hammer before I saw this movie. I have to say that I really enjoyed it. I bought IMAX midnight tix and gotta say that I'm glad I went, and am doing the best I can to suggest people to go see it. It's a good day for Thor fans, hopefully it doesn't suffer too big a drop at the box office this weekend.

lol yeah like the streets of Amsterdam? :D

2 1/2 would be ideal.

Yeah, I think 3 hours will be too long, and 2 hrs. will be not long enough. 2 1/2 seems more ideal, and given the large cast of characters in the Avengers, anything less will not do it justice. Since it has now gotten a buildup in 4 movies (5 when Cap comes out), Marvel should ensure that they'll doing the best movie they possibly can.

can someone explain to me what was going on when Loki was visiting Thor at SHIELD? was he invisible for humans?

Yeah, they couldn't see him, but apparently he needed to dress like them, weird.
