The Official 'Thor Rate & Review' thread - Part 1

My prediction was that the movie wouldn't drop below the 70th percentile. I wonder if I'll be right on this.

It won't, but it's never going above 90 now.

This is considered a rotten review,

But that anticipation kind of robs Thor of its presence, giving it a larger purpose it can't quite escape. By the end of the film, I felt like Thor did its job, and did it well. But instead of satisfying as its own standalone adventure, it felt like necessary prep work for a bigger party we know we are going to be invited to yet aren't allowed to walk into just yet.

The other reviews nitpick and go out of their way to find things in the plot/design to call it bad. That's pretty obvious. Seriously, one of the guys who hated Thor, praised Little Fockers. That is considered a Top Critic of movies? Just wait until Captain America comes out or especially The Avengers and Dark Knight Rises. To sort of quote Anton Vanko, those two movies have so much hype that there will be hate in the water and the sharks will come.

I honestly wouldn't care if every critic gave this movie zero, as long as I keep getting to watch these awesome Marvel films. Who cares what all these critics are saying? As long as it makes it's money back, which it already looks like it's doing, and WE like the film, who care what anyone else says? Let them hate it. I feel sorry for them that they don't get to see the film the same way I do because it's honestly awesome to have a film like this for me. I've already been getting the itches to see it a 4th time.

I see the film has already grossed well over 100 million worldwide.

If the all the Yanks and Canadians spend another 100-200 million or so I think we'll see a sequel.

Well put. I just hate hyperbole and exaggerations was all. One more day of work before I can finally check this film out.
