Reading over the very first few Avengers comics those Enchantress and Executioner peoples seem like great villain candidates for number 2.

Oh ok, well that's cool.

Oh, another thing I haven't seen mentioned was how funny the throwaway line was where Thor referred to Coulson as, "Son of Coul" in their exchange. That made me chuckle.
heh yeah not many people caught that, They did catch the reference to a Renaissance faire and Xena, Robinhood and I forget the other referenced character. lol

Surtur for Thor 2...cause Thor 3 definetely needs to be about Ragnarok...

That is also a good idea of where to go. If they go there in Thor 3, I'd like to see it eluded to somewhat in Thor 2, though.

Thor was a really good movie. Structurally it hits all of its beats right, and the performances by Hemsworth and Hiddleston made this movie great.

I give it 3 out of 4 stars.

I'm one of these people who've never read Thor, so when you are talking about Surtur, I have no idea who your talkign about. :yay: :woot:

Just saw it, good film.

Pros: Acting all around was good, I thought Chris was a great Thor, and Tom was a great Loki. And of course Hopkins is always awesome. Natalie did well, but it seemed like her character was slightly thin. But her acting was great. The art of the film was beautiful, I loved the Bi-Frost and a lot of Asgard. Great action, good story, some emotional moments. I had fun with the film and am glad I went to see it.

Cons: I think the movie was 20 minutes too short. I think the stuff in New Mexico needed more time, and more of an arch for Thor. It was just kinda like a snap of a finger Thor went from angry, to "understanding and humble". It was just too quick. I believed it through Chris, but it felt choppy and just all of a sudden. They could have added more with him and Jane and had that relationship have more depth, and also see more of an arch of Thor learning about humanity, and gaining his. It would have felt much more flowing if they would have just added more screen time and scenes with the two of them.

Also some of the SFX were not the best, I'm not a huge SFX Nazi, but there were times where it looked a little too much CGI and not very polished. But for the most part I think it served its purpose. The Destroyer looked great I thought the entire time.

Bottom Line: Great film, I was entertained and enjoyed myself very much. Though some of it was clunky, I think it still pulled it off.

8.3/10

I'd have to give the movie an 8/10. It was breezy, light, well-crafted entertainment, made with care and a real sense of adventure. But I think the third act had Iron Man 1 syndrome to some extent. Not to say that Loki wasn't a well-developed villain, he totally was. But the third act just felt underwhelming for some reason. It felt rushed and without the excitement of the first two acts.

Great movie though. Can't wait to see what Hemsworth and Hiddleston do with Whedon's writing and direction next summer.

Heh Surtur is a Fire Demon lord of dimension UNDER Hel. He's as tall as a 8 story Building. He Carries the Twilight Sword, which in myth, when Drawn means the coming of the end of the universe.

Oh, I feel Thor 2 definitely happens. It's just a question of when. I am not a runtime nazi, myself. I feel a story should end when it should end. Some films only need 90mins. Others need 3hrs. Depends on the story.
This.

Agreed, Spider-Fan. The other realms must be explored.

I think they kind of have to be, lol! Confining it to just the areas we've already seen would just be lame.

Thing is exploring the other nine Realms would take at least a 3 hour movie. lol you CAN do that like the Thor Disassembled arc or Ragnarok Arc. :D then at the ending Credits you see Thor placing the City of Asgard over Oklhoma. :D

I just got back from seeing it. I definitley enjoyed it. Like others, the only real issues I had was that they just needed to take a little more time making Thor's jump from arrogant/cocky/brash to humble and understanding more believable. And the relationship with him and Portman would have been better for that as well. They were both such good actors that I didn't mind that they rushed it, but they really needed more character moments.

I think the reason I really wanted more moments was because the moments we got were so good. All the Thor/Odin/Loki stuff was great. Some really heart wrenching scenes.

I don't feel like writing a long review, so I'll just say that I really enjoyed the film. Plan on seeing it again without the blurry 3D.

If not Enchantress, I could see them doing something with Hela in part 2. Like Thor has to rescue Jane from her realm. Since there have been no female villains in these marvel flicks so far, I could see them going that route.

Yeah it seem the the logical choice would be Enchantress with Skurge and if it went that way I'd also like to see Malekith and Kurse.

Wasn't blurry to me. I was STANDING at the center and the side watching the audience. (I'm a security Guard)

I was kinda to the right side in the auditorium which probably contributed to the blurriness. Traffic almost made me late to the theater. I arrived just as the Paramount logo was coming on screen.
