I gotta say, that mucus on his lip really bothered me. And the ding ding ding. Just my two cents. :funny:
I thought it was a nice touch to tie his hums with the score. It upped the creep factor a bit.

What I disliked about Lex?

His last scene is literally warning the heroes, that someone is coming from space. Which for a comic book nerd is an implication of Darkseid, which makes me question:

1) Did Lex always know about Darkseid and was he a pawn from the beginning?

2) Did he learn about Darkseid through the Kryptonian war technology and then decided that it was a good idea to call Darkseid?
I figured the implication was clear it was being relayed to him at the Scout ship. The voice assistant specifically mentioned knowledge of hundreds of worlds, and Lex outright asks for it to be fed.

Matthew Vaughn would be great unlike Snyder he knows to drop in levity
I'd squeal with excitement if Vaughn signed up for something like Justice League. Guy's clearly a comic book aficionado, but he still has impeccable talents as a cinematic director. I was absolutely gutted when he dropped out of Apocalypse.

Lex Luthor spoilers:

I still didn't dislike the idea that Lex just ends up being a "pawn" at the end of the movie. It's a cliché trope.

Sack him! Absolutely! 100% sack him! Don't care they'll have to move JL but Snyder... I'm sorry he's just not good enough. Personally I'd remove Snyder and his wife from DCCU and only give them some executive producer credit. they had two chances and failed both times so...

But unless OW is dissapointing and then there's a huge 2nd weekend drop (close to 70% or so) I don¨t expect WB to just write-off tens of millions...

The movie has not been released yet, not until tomorrow anyway.
It is little early to say that he has failed.
And if he had truly failed the last time, BVS would not even exist.

He was never going to do Apocalypse. You're probably thinking of The Last Stand

Ow won't be disappointing thanks to.the marketing. The Bad WOm however will.affect the movies legs. This movie won't hit a Billion and that's gonna be disappointing to Wb.Underperformance will make them hesitate over JL

I wouldn't blame Snyder, no matter who was directing Batman v Superman would have presumebly been forced to add the marketing campaigns to future DC movies.

It really is the same situation as IM2 and AoU.
WB has been pretty clear that they wanted to launch the DCEU with this film.
Snyder did not really have any choice.

I wonder if Vaughn would be willing to jump into a franchise like that has been hampered by bad films (or at the very least, very, very divisive) and is no doubt micromanaged on every level by the studio. He's the kinda guy to walk away from a project if it compromises his vision, so asking him to clean up someone else's mess, make a film that somewhat fits into the existing tapestry of the DCCU and still be passionate about it? Who knows. Unless WB gives him the keys to the Ferrari.

That being said, Vaughn is an exceptional talent and auteur. Him and Jane Goldman are a great writing duo, he can direct action well, and he has an impeccable eye for casting, finding new talent and or making established talent grow in exceptional ways. Daniel Craig, Chloe Grace Moretz, Michael Fassbender, Taron Edgerton etc. I'd love to see him tackle any of DC's properties.

wondering those voted the opposite, have they really 'watched' the movie.

Yes we've watched the film. It's very bad. Yes the imagery is cool, the costumes are cool, the special effects are..... Uh, cool?

These things do not make a good film. Something needs to be done, and done fast so we can get back on track.

 I now see why so many people, especially the older posters, stay away.

Well, he did go into X-Men after 'The Last Stand' and 'Origins'.

i only see big bad mouth.

I hope that WB/DC hire someone better.

Do you have any suggestions of directors?

I'm having a hard time thinking whom WB could get for JL Part 2 or replace this quickly for JL part 1.

Honestly I even rate The Last Stand much higher than BvS... So they better find someone.

Personally I'd be fine with Gavin O'Connor. Warrior is one of the best movies of last 5 years, Miracle is also very good and he already worked with Affleck (The Accountant).

Another option could be Dan Gilroy - his Nightcrawler is excellent and he's a very, very experienced screenwriter (also worked on Burton's Superman Lives). Or maybe Justin Lin, he's in post-production with Star Trek right now. Guess they can probably ask Paul Greengrass or maybe Oliver Stone who's still a fantastic director in my eyes.

There are a lot of directors better than Zack Snyder.

Gilroy doesn't like superhero movies. He bad-mouthed them when Nightcrawler was released iirc.

I think with guys like Gilroy it depends on the overall package. If WB would offer him to finance his own movie after he's done with JL... Probably would be the same with Stone. Personally I'd love Liman but he already signed with Fox to direct Gambit.

This is my biggest fear.

I'm sure the movie's going to have a ton of awesome looking (and awesome acted parts), but they'll be dragged down by all the parts that don't make sense or have poor writing.

It's especially frustrating to me because I feel like more and more comic movies are doing this now. They get some things perfect and then fall flat, limit their potential, or completely miss the point with others.
