BvS The Official Zack Snyder Directs Everything Thread - Part 4

It has probably been mentioned before, but if Batman does continue to kill in the other films, if he stops suddenly and does not kill Joker or the other rogues, then I’ll definitely end up resenting these films.

Yeah that was kinda one problem I had with Batman being fine with casualties or actually attempting to kill threats. Now, they're gonna have to justify why he hasn't tried to murder Joker, because you would think, once he decided "Killing is okay", that would have been his top priority. And maybe he has tried, and we'll see more of that later, but once you make him cross that line, it's hard to justify a confrontation where he doesn't just immediately break The Joker's neck, or any other villain for that matter

Seriously joker, u r asking batman to hang his cape n believe in the government n the police.

Batman not need to give up. He just need to grow brain and not try kill people he have no good reason to kill lol.

Its no harder to justify than in the Nolan films, in which he kills fake Ra's, real Ra's, Two-Face, Talia, and countless goons / ninjas.

Yeah and with a shared cinematic universe you kinda have to address it or your Batman becomes a different character. Especially if you ever do a Red Hood or Damian storyline. It takes away his moral high ground.

He doesn't kill Ra's (Ra's destroyed the train console), fake Ra's wasn't on purpose, same with Talia and Harvey was fully in defense of a child in a split second decision that doesn't even come off as intentional, along with the goons and ninjas. It's not the same thing. Have a very great day you and everyone!

God bless you! God bless everyone!

I am entirely fine with them quietly just shuffling problematic elements from BvS like "Batman, Murderer" off the stage and pretending they never happened. Show a couple movies of Batman acting like he's supposed to, and nobody will care about a conflict with the BvS portrayal.

Batman never killed any of them on purpose unlike The DCEU version of the character.

Yeah, you could argue most were extreme circumstances, with little to no options, like Superman and Zod. I do think it's pretty ridiculous completely blowing up all those ninjas, "Ras Al Ghul", and almost certainly the guy who he did all this for (who probably died a much more painful), only focusing on saving Ducard, and then go about like nothing happened and he didn't just kill those people haha. And the "I don't have to save you" thing was pretty much just a way to justify it to himself. But, you forgive those things if the story is good enough, and I feel TDKT was great enough to forgive all the logic and plot holes. I'm hoping, once it really gets into it, the DCEU will be good enough to forgive and justify some of the missteps in its early stages.

Thee was absolutely an easier way than destroying the tracks then refusing to save him from a situation toyou yourself created thereby killing him I can think of an easy one grab one of those explosive balls that could blow through steel doors and toss a couple inside the device device is broken problem solved.

You think a better alternative is to throw a bunch of explosives into the train with Ra's there? Did you see the size of the explosion when when the emitter blew up? It filled a whole underground parking garage. If Batman blew it up then he would be directly responsible for killing Ra's.

Batman had Gordon blow the tracks as a last resort in case he couldn't physically stop the train himself. Otherwise what was the point in going up there and trying to fight Ra's, if not to physically stop the train. But Ra's foiled that by smashing the brakes. So he sealed his own fate by making the train an unstoppable death trap.

Same with Talia, there was minutes left on a bomb that could nuke the whole city. What was his alternative, politely ask her to pull her truck over, and tell her Tumblers to back off so he could take the bomb away?

they could change the situation to make him stick perfectly to the nonsense no killing rule, couldn't they??? the script writer could easily do that. just like what you have asked exactly the same for BvS, haven't you???

No, because there's a big difference between needlessly killing (BvS) and having no choice in order to save an innocent life or lives (BB, TDK, TDKR). Do you think Batman would be a better hero if he didn't kill Talia and let all of Gotham die for example, just so he could say he didn't take a life.

i am saying the script writer could make him to save both... just to stick the nonsense no killing rule... to make him the goddamn batman!!!

Life and death situations don't always pan out neatly like that. There's going to be a moment or moments in a crime fighting career where the hero has no choice but to take a criminal's life in order to save some innocent's. Nobody should condemn a hero for doing that. Nobody would respect them for letting innocents die just so they could say they didn't kill anyone.

Killing needlessly on the other hand, that's unacceptable.

For BB and TDKR, maybe. But having to kill Two-Face in TDK is too important to the story of the film. It is the point where The Joker 'wins,' by creating a situation where Batman has no choice but to break his one rule to save an innocent kid and leads directly to them turning Dent into a martyr and Batman becoming a pariah.

Starting to think that you don't understand the moral code that Batman lives by or how it defines his character.

Maybe I should say appreciate.

But Batman's brilliant logic is there's a tiny million to one chance that Superman might turn bad and become the worst threat ever, so he's got to die. That's idiotic. You don't make life and death decisions based on something that is not a certainty, and is extremely unlikely. Batman, and no sane or logical person, does such a thing.

"Can't execute a perp on 99%". And this was from Dredd of all people.

call me TDKR haters. i found it is just cheesy and not right to see batman fighting together with the people in the broad daylight. just yuck feeling.

and have any defender of batman fans complaint how stupid is this version batman is??? like how they complaint on BvS???
never know the true identity of the woman he slept with??? went straight to bane trap and got killed almost??? the greatest detective??? Nolan, you have ruined batman, damn you!!! did they complaint this way???

TDKR final fight

Nolan's Batman was a joke. He tried to put him in a realistic world but put all these unrealistic rules on him and then had just really stupid set ups to get around it. Those movies were borderline terrible and the only redeeming feature was an acting performance by one villain, it's the only thing anyone references about those movies.
Snyder embraces the characters and asks the question "what if they were real" and let's the world interact with them with real world rules.

Funny how people like Snyder and Affleck have offered nothing but the highest praise and respect for Nolan's films, yet most of their fans/defenders like to take a big crap on them to make themselves feel better.

The only thing people reference with Snyder's two DC films is how disappointing they were.

And yeah, Snyder's fight scenes are better. So what? The Star Wars prequels have better choreography than the original Star Wars films. Snyder's biggest problem to me is he can't get me invested in and rooting for his characters.

It's hilarious. These Snyder zealots actually have the audacity to bash Nolan, like Snyder isn't ripping pages from Nolan's playbook.

Chris Nolan is Tony Stark, and Zack Snyder is Justin Hammer.

Because you found the sight of Batman fighting in broad daylight "a yuck feeling", you think any defender of Batman should, too? That's truly brilliant logic. I salute you for making no sense at all there.

Never mind the fact that Batman has been active in daylight many times in the comics. Even in BTAS.

never know the true identity of the woman he slept with???

He's been conned by villainous women many times in the comics.

went straight to bane trap and got killed almost??? the greatest detective???

What you mean like in Knightfall when he walked straight into Bane's trap and got his back broken in his very own home?

Nolan, you have ruined batman, damn you!!! did they complaint this way???

No, because they know those are not out of character occurrences for Batman. If you read the comics you would know that, too.

Zack Snyder said your beloved MOS and BvS live in the gratitude of the Nolan Batman movies. He said they are their legacy. He said Nolan's Batman movies set the tone for the DCEU.

Surely your God cannot be wrong can he :o Even your beloved Batfleck said Nolan's Batman is the defining Batman, and the realism aspect is so exciting;

Yes, he has. But even more than that, in TDKR it is a very important character moment. Batman has just come to terms with himself and his destiny, and for the very first time in the entire trilogy he steps out of the shadows and comes to fight in broad daylight with the rest of Gotham. That scene is stripped of its symbolism if it takes place at night.
