Agreed Tim,
Cavill has grown into the perfect Superman option.

I see your point on Hathaway maybe not being spunky enough, I like her because she could portray Lois as being SMART and a capable woman which I think only the animated series really captured well.

Damon would make a better Daredevil, although I would like to see Micheal C. Hall in the role. In fact after watching the first Bourne movie I thought "They got the wrong one to be Daredevil"

I can see Hathaway for Lois, she would be great but I can see Sophia Bush as Lois, something about her gets my attention.

Welling looks like a horse.

There's nothing in the comics that show any resemblance to Welling. Cavill and Bomer look more like the traditional Supes than he does.

I am curious now but in what way? Besides him having the bone structure facially and been able to pass for a quaterback and been 6,3 sure he doesnt look like supes.

Sophia Bush isn't a good actress, but someone in her vein and with a lot more talent would be great. It still amazes me how miscast Bosworth was.

I think that Hathaway would be great personally. There is an intellengence and spunk about her and she wouldn't have to dye her hair or wear a wig.

It was a combination of Bosworth's miscasting, and Singer's poor writing / directing that truly killed the character in that movie. I wouldn't have even known she was playing Lois if she didn't work at the Daily Planet and no-one called her by name.

His facial features are mildly horse-like. I realize it sounds stupid, but he has a pretty long face and if you compare pictures you'll see it. I believe back when the Routh/Welling wars were at their peak, people would actually poke fun at this.

Agreed. She's shown some great versatility in her roles, and she was absolutely glowing in 'Get Smart'. I don't know if she'd be my ideal Lois (she has some pretty exaggerated features), but I can accept her.

It was definitely moreso of the actual writing. Bosworth didn't have much chance to add spunkiness to a character that didn't have any.

I'll have to get around to it.

Personally I still like Mathew Bomer.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The begining sucked ass but when I saw him I thought, Superman.

I know this isn't anything new but I'll just put him out there again.
Yes! I've always supported Bomer.

Though I'd still like Routh to reprise the role.

I love Tom Welling as Superman, but most likely he will never be in a Superman movie... I think Cavill would be amazing.

I think the casting for the new Superman will be a horrendous process. I think it all depends on who the new director is.

And don't forget that it will go from Routh vs Welling to Routh vs Welling vs New Guy

*IF* it's truly a reboot then I wonder if they want a younger actor for supes? or an older one to show a more established Superman?
If it's younger, then Cavill.
Older, then Trucco.

Well it seems a lot of the time they don't go with who the fans are talking about.

It's going to be hard for me not to picture Routh in the role

Worst thread ever.
At this point we don't even know what kind of movie can we expect.

IMO it would be more interesting a debate about the release date. I'm still for a 2010 release date.

True, it does all depend on the director. In Singer's case, he was so stuck on emulating Donner that he didn't want to cast anyone but an unknown. A new director, however, will hopefully be open to actors like Cavill and Trucco who have some recognition but aren't household names.

I really don't want to see an extended origin sequence again.. if they can introduce it in the opening credits, fine.. but they don't need to hire Sean Connery as Jor-El or something and have it be this expensive drawn out thing that's already been done quite well once before...

Well I for one would like to see krypton on film, I am not content with a 30yr old version of krypton.

Cavill would be awesome, but I think he's tied up with The Tudors. What projects has Michael Trucco worked on? He seems familiar but I can't place him.
