The Dark Knight The Oscar Push!

"why are you trashing my envelope?!"

First off, congrats to Heath Ledger! Secondly, The Dark Knight has broken all sorts of records and won all sorts of awards. It was the number one film of 2008, acclaimed by both critics and fans, alike. It birthed a new standard for the comic book genre of film, shattering peoples' beliefs of just what a comic book based film could and should be. So, let the aging Academy and its love of small, artistic films have its night/bottle. Anyone who's anyone knows that the Oscars are hardly the end-all, be-all, anymore. Ratings are down, and people are generally sour on the Academy, so why is a Golden Globe or a SAG award any less prestigious than an Oscar? I mean, really... I think I'd rather go winless on a program where Zac Effron and Alicia Keys are co-presenting, anyway.

Considering Bale is not even there it might be hard for him to present an award.

I wish Bale would show up and rant about how ****ing ridiculous these Oscars have ****ing been.

A little late, but once again, congrats, Heath. And thank you for your incredible work and performance.

I actually got teary-eyed when his sister said that she wished he was up there with them.

Is anyone surprised Christian Bale has not appeared as presenter?

1.)he's not into these hollywood functions thing. he's known to keep a low profile.

2.) after his Terminator tirade hitting the net, they sure as hell want to keep him away from any nosy reporters.

Best Director...two glaring omissions from this category (cough...Aronofsky and Nolan...cough).
