Yeah, they never got the levity of the situation except for relation to Ben cause they never really fleshed out how their lives changed post-accident.

Sue was Doom's assistant or something and after she was just with Reed. Johnny was a co-pilot and then rode a motorbike for some reason.

Reed was broke and then just got funding to find a cure. He didn't really take leadership to take care of finding a cure for Ben instead of relying on Doom's funding.

I agree...the characterization was totally off. The ONE SCENE that showed the enormous task put before them in being those superheros that could save the world, was cut from the first movie. So even that "little bit" was cut. It was a movie of cliches and bad ones at that...

I don't think they are necessarily "reading into something" as far as the Mara stuff, that was simply not translated correctly. As far as everything else, it does look like it is going the way of the UFF. If you are a 616 fan, and have been for a very long time....you don't have to "read into" anything...you aren't going to be happy if you were hoping for a movie coming from your favorite version. I'm not sure why people can't see that as well. It's very simple.

This may very well be a good movie, I hope it is.....but if you are a 616 fan, you are not going to be happy with even that, and I don't see anything wrong with that opinion.

I don't know that I would say most FF long time fans by a long shot, but most of those that are not FF fans but follow movies on a regular basis and come to sites and spend time on them? Yeah, I think you would be correct in saying that... I don't think either of those groups are the group that has the greatest number that will be at the movies. But, I do think that you will find pockets of groups of movie fans that are definitely looking forward to this movie. And they should....if you are a fan of Trank, this type of movie, the actors? why wouldn't you be excited for this movie. If you are a UFF fan exclusively, you can certainly be apprehensive, but positive about what you are hearing....if you are a long time 616 fan, there is nothing here that you have much to look forward to. All of those groups have valid points, valid opinions and a right to feel as they do.

You're looking from one bubble to another. The vast majority of the potential audience doesn't even know the movie is progressing, what with the ridiculously small amount of promotion Fox has given the release.

Honestly all of the positives and negatives will not be a factor in this movie's bottom line until it starts being promoted. So all the things we are stating as positives and negatives may totally change after Comic Con when people other than the CBM bubble of fans knows that it is even happening.

As far as the actors, I think the actor's time on TV will be a bigger draw of the general audience than any movie they have previously done. Trank as director, will bring a few, but the majority of the general audience I doubt has ever heard of him.

I do however, think that they have pulled too far from even the UFF, and unless it is an award winning new take on the original, I think that may be what hurts them the most with the general audience.

Right now, the actors are the only positive thing I see with this project, and my attitude on everything else is a "wait and see" attitude.

Great interview. Sounds like they've got a good handle on things. Shame about SDCC I think they should've had a panel and debuted a logo at least, perhaps they want to avoid the haters until they have footage ready

Possibly, possibly, the look of Thing....but the age, origin, etc of the 4 themselves is definitely UFF.

Granted ASM2 Isn't as good as first film or first 2 rami films.

The attitude by some it's destined to fail since it's fox and not Disney Is wrong.Considering my feeling towards disney I don't care that FF can't be used In avengers sequel or GotG Sequel.

Postive people have been trashed as not being real FF fans or will just love whatever Fox puts out.

2:Liking everything from Fox is why I called Last stand one of most disappointing comic book films and why I was critical of Elektra,Origins,and previous FF films.And why i didn't like the past good X-Men films X-Men,X2 being erased at end of DOFP.

If all that is ok is to either state..."so excited for this film", or only speaking of positive we are hearing, or "not gonna say anything until I see the film"...well, that would be a very boring conversation.

If opinions from all sides of a film are not heard, and not given freely (as long as respectfully), then again it makes for a very boring conversation.

Speculation is the name of the game on boards like this....that is what they are all about.

If all you are going to state is .... "well I'm holding any opinion until I've seen the film" then there is no need for you to come back to the forum. Just read the news on the front page and move on. Which is fine if that is how people want to wait for a movie, but on sites like this one, that makes for a very boring wait time. IMO, you can certainly state that, but still find things that you are very happy with, or not happy at all about and talk about those things as well....in fact, that is what I would expect most people to do.

Now, if all someone is going to say is..... "I hope this thing tanks", and "This whole thing sucks"....well, that will be just as boring. I can think of MAYBE 2 people that do that on this particular forum, so to put everyone in a general category of "positive" and "negative" is just not correct.

I also, see people on here that as soon as someone brings up a negative they are immediately tagged with "hater" or another word that was used quite a bit on here at the beginning, that was WAY off base for the majority of posters on this forum questioning certain aspects of the project. As I stated before, both of those groups have A COUPLE OF THING IN COMMON....they immediately generalize all negative as "haters" and call them as such, or immediately generalize all positives as "shills" or "non-fans" and call them as such....OR do what I call "drive by posts" that do not give a strong, well thought out reason for their opinion. These are a huge MINORITY on this forum, I could probably list maybe 3 names that would fall in one or the other. That is pretty good, considering this project has had some MAJOR controversies come along with it.
