They already said Mole Man is not making an appearance in this film but Harvey Elder is. He's supposed to be the villain in the sequel. I imagine he will have a bit part in this one.

Yeah I did not remember his name sorry XD.

What do you mean? he'll still be strechy!

“Its a total reboot, that’s for sure. It’s got nothing to do with the other bloody ones. It’s not stretchy guy and a guy running around in rock that looks like it’s made of polystyrene. And its not a comedy.”
-Matthew Vaughn

OMFG! you damn well know he didn't mean that literally! :whatever:

Because we know for a fact that they get actual powers!

Well if we're going by what information's been released we know they get "disabilities". So what "powers" pray tell are the ones you are referring to?

I wouldn't be surprised if Reed was left out of the powers thing, getting some enhanced intellect or something. Super-stretchy-powers are difficult to ground.

I don't like the rumored plot but it could probably work as a film. Doom seems about right in the film and parts of the Ben Grimm plot seem okay. In the comics its kinda odd he's the only one who couldn't turn it off like the others. Its like in the Avatar series where other benders have to have that element present for their power to work except fire benders. You could accept as this is how their universe works but when someone changes it, that makes some sense.

I think it all comes down to execution. I have faith that Josh Trank will nail it. Matthew Vaughn also has a say on this. At first, it sounds a little odd to read words like "convenience store clerk" "Doom posts online" but if they executed it well and those things don't come across as a joke, then I think it would be alright. And for what its worth, it sounds better than the plot of the last two Fantastic Four films and with this one, we would see how the four met each other. Reading the rumored plot, Doom reminds me of Whiplash. But I cannot wait to see the N-Zone and Doombots!

What is "it"? How does "convenience store" equate with "college professor"?

So, in saying that it "sounds" better than the first 2 and I'm assuming you are talking about this new plot that has come to light? You are saying that moving even further from the comics story lines, that makes it better? How so?

You are right convenience store clerk does sound horrible but if you are a genius and your not in the right environment. You could get lost in the system so while I don't like it, it makes sense. I also think this supposed plot is totally fake. Before the TMNT movie came out there was a supposed leak just like this of the Turtles being from outerspace.

The plot synopsis didn't give any real motivation for Doom. He's just there for the sake of being an antagonist. I don't get why he's being used instead of Annihilus if the plot synopsis is real since one is connected to the Negative Zone and the other just feels shoehorned in to the origin.

In a 2012 at the Nickelodeon upfront presentation, Michael Bay told the press the following:

"These turtles are from an alien race, and they are going to be tough, edgy, funny and completely loveable."

So it wasn't a rumor at all. In the original script for Ninja Turtles, the turtles were aliens, not mutants.

Then a funny thing happened. After listening to the backlash from Turtles fans Michael Bay actually changed the turtles back to mutants. Can you believe that? He listened to the fans and changed the script to be respectful of the source material. Crazy!

I think Bay mispoke and leaked parts of the plot to the next installment. Later he said this “Fans need to take a breath, and chill. They have not read the script. Our team is working closely with one of the original creators of [Teenage Mutant] Ninja Turtles to help expand and give a more complex back story. Relax, we are including everything that made you become fans in the first place. We are just building a richer world.”The institute the turtles were created has a link to Kang the conquer who is an alien.

No. In the original Blue Door script, the Turtles were actually aliens from dimension x.

That is 100% true.

And the Ninja Turtle movie still sucked ass so I don't understand why people keep bringing it up as a positive comparison.

Psst...the plot synopsis didn't give any real motivation for anyone, let alone any character details.

It's also like half a page long, and makes the movie seem like it's only about five or six scenes long.

In other words, it was a crappy, incomplete synopsis...if it was real in the first place.

Psst... it was probably fake, but a plot synopsis isn't supposed to list every scene. They can be as short as a paragraph.

Whoa, I'm nowhere near as unreasonable as most people here. I just know that Fox is really ruining Doctor Doom. The film may turn out alright even if the synopsis is real, but Doom will just be another shallow CBM villain like Malekith or Whiplash.

It's possible that this isn't true either. FFINO Doom could be a good villain. He just would be faithful to the comics.

"Fantastic Four in Name Only"

"Faithful to the Comics"

I think you are confused... these concepts are contradictory.
