You are right convenience store clerk does sound horrible but if you are a genius and your not in the right environment. You could get lost in the system so while I don't like it, it makes sense. I also think this supposed plot is totally fake. Before the TMNT movie came out there was a supposed leak just like this of the Turtles being from outerspace.

It would be very weird if this rumored plot turns out to be true because Fox has been secretive.

So, in saying that it "sounds" better than the first 2 and I'm assuming you are talking about this new plot that has come to light? You are saying that moving even further from the comics story lines, that makes it better? How so?

To me, it isn't about the staying close to the comics storylines. But the story that the film is trying to tell. I just feel like reading the rumored plot which could be fake, it has more conflict compare to the plot of the 1st Fantastic Four movies. The plot of the 1st two Fantastic Four films are very simplistic, the characters know each other from the get go, Doom makes trouble for whatever reason, Fantastic Four saves the day.... with the second movie, its the same thing.

But with this rumored plot, it shows that how will the 4 get together, Doom actually has a cause and reason for going against the Fantastic Four. And for a "plot summary" there are background information about the characters that could be really interesting to watch. Then you have the N-Zone, Doombots...

If the X-Men movies can get away for not being a carbon copy of the comic-books just for being a good movie, why can't a Fantastic Four movie do the same thing. Its all in the execution.

The X-Men films aren't as unfaithful. Magneto is still a Holocaust survivor, Mystique is still a wild card, Wolverine is still a grouchy Canadian. The only way that they aren't faithful to the source material is by not giving Cyclops any screen time.

And yes, I'm still considering Ultimate Stryker to be "faithful" in a way.

Doctor Doom according to the man who plays him is the definition of, "unfaithful." The film might still turn out okay but I won't consider Toby Kebbell to be an accurate Doctor Doom.

Toby Kebbell himself implied he knows the fans won't be happy with the film. In his IGN interview there were some signs that he's already trying to distance himself from the film a bit.

And still the 4 original members of the Fantastic Four are Sue, Reed, Johnny and Ben. Doom is a villain despite the surname change. There are gonna be drastic changes to this reboot but still there are still gonna similarities to the Fantastic Four comic-books.

Hence why you have people stating FFINO....:yay: Sue, Reed, Johnny, and Ben + Doom (sort of).

In a world where they can adapt a talking raccoon and a talking tree who only says three words and make the entire planet love them both, shallow, pandering "similarities" don't ****ing cut it.

What Disney/Marvel has done with 2nd tier characters is so far above Fox's 1st tier it's not even funny.

So, does anyone think the first trailer may premiere with Exodus or Night at the Museum? I for one hope so.

I would love for it to. But I'm now thinking it'll debut with "Kingsmen: The Secret Service."

You're not getting it in December. Sorry.

That's somewhat more likely.

Probably even later than that.

I'm thinking it could debut with Inside Out or Ant-Man next year.

That's like saying Goku was still an alien that saved the world, Bulma was still a genius that went on an adventure to collect the Dragon Balls, Yamcha was still a desert bandit, Roshi was still Goku's sensei, and Piccolo was still a badguy that had been sealed away for many years. Surface level similarities may help make it a better film than, say, Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li, but it still looks to be along the lines of DBE or Super Mario Bros. The Movie. The bar has been set higher than that these days.

On a positive note (since I'm in the positive thread), I really do think this could be better than Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. That's something. :o

Guys, Doctor Doom isn't "similar" to his comic book counterpart, he's totally different.

And yes, I am being positive here. It may be a good movie but it won't be Doctor Doom.

That is too good to be true especially the film is opening in August. So maybe February or March.

With Inside Out, the date FFINO were originally meant to open.

If they go with how they've done everything else we will see a trailer with the worst performing movie of the year....

What else have Fox attached trailers to in the past that have performed badly?

Maybe we'll see the first teaser trailer attached to Avengers: Infinity War 2. :o

I could see it being attached to Kingsman, which comes out in February.

*sighs* the decisions they have made for "this particular film" have all been bad, hence my post. :o:csad:

Well, we haven't gotten an Ant-Man trailer yet, and that comes out earlier than FFINO.

I doubt Marvel is going to allow Fox to attach F4 or anything in front of one of their trailers, especially Avengers 2. Now I'm not sure if Disney has any control over this but i can see them if they do not letting this happen.

I'm gunna guess the trailer will debut in April.
