It think with some they don't want the movie to be made so will maintain that it'll be bad. Even after they see it they have passed a point where they won't allow themself to like it. The movies quality won't matter

There are of course others who will allow themselves like it once it releases but are unhappy with the basis being UFF instead of 616. The actual movie will be deciding factor

Then their are those who are open to movies being different from the source or based on a version but are wary of the quality of director, or actors. The actual movie will be the deciding factor

Then their are those who value quality over accuracy and are open to the idea that the studio and talent involved can provide that. They are optimistic the movie will be okay at worst

LOL, no bias in this post.

After seeing Dawn of the Planet of the apes I am more intrigued by this film. The one who plays doom did motion capture for Koba In it.It took Fox a while to release full trailer for
Dawn.My thinking if the thing being entirely CGI may be a reason why they are waiting before showing anything.

^ The first footage from Dawn of The Planet of The Apes released in December 2013. Around abouts six months before the release of the movie

The first trailer for X-Men Days of Future Past released in October 2013, around seven months before the release of the movie.

The Fantastic Four is due for release in June 2015 so by the general timeline of the first trailers from he movies above (same studio) we should get the first trailer around around November or December

LOL, no bias in this post.

How so? I make no claims it'll be great or that it'll be accurate just that it has a likelihood of quality of no worse than okay, based on recent movies from the studio and previous movie from the director

A direct to DVD effort with the cast and director it has? Yeah I forgot which forum I was on for a moment.

It was a backhanded slam to the long time fans.....nothing new. :whatever:

I'm afraid it wasn't. It was solely about those who think it has the possibility of being a good movie, accurate or not accurate. Nothing to do with long term fans

Well, I happen to think you can be almost spot on accurate with this franchise AND give a quality movie. One doesn't cancel out the other....and I'm not even one that thinks it should be a purist venture...

But, ok...call whatever ya like.

This is a quote from Wille Lumpkin's post on page 17.

I think he is talking more about the "promotion" with that comment, not necessarily the actors, etc....we haven't seen enough to make that opinion, and it does have the "feel" that Fox isn't sure about what to do with it. At least right now that is how it feels.

I think that is possible too.

I'd prefer a good in-accurate movie over a poor but accurate. It's entirely possible to get one that is both mostly accurate and good but it's clear this won't be 616 accurate as that isn't the source they are primarily drawing from. That the reality of the situation, It could be UFF accurate and good or a mix and match of both 616 and UFF and good or each of those both and poor or not accurate to either and poor. Only time will tell.

I'm of the opinion that it'll be okay at worst based on the recent studio movies and the recent movie from the Director. As for its accuracy to UFF or a mix of both that's unknown right now as there is little official details.

I've been baffled by Fox's marketing efforts for all of their films lately. I was pretty damn critical of their Days of Future Past marketing effort. I expect to be critical of FF's marketing.

And maybe Fox isn't sure what to do with it yet, I don't know. We will see how things go in the next few months.

I'm open to this sucking as much as I am it being good BTW.

616 fans just happen to believe that the best quality F4 movie should be adapted from what they see as the better quality comic. It's pretty simple.

THEN...you have those haters of Fox and your everyday trolls. I do not, for a second, equate them with fans of this comic.

Just as I don't see shills for Fox and your everyday trolls as fans of Ultimate Fantastic Four or the actors. I have to say though, I haven't seen any shills this time around, just run of the mill trolls.

Yeah. I See Spidey's comment didn't seem worth a reply, but I just want to see something, somewhere from somebody to indicate the studio considers this to be a major film and not just a Chronicle-type effort.

I've been following this for over 4 years and it's just nothing on top of nothing on top of nothing. 10 months out and not even a logo and not even a poster.

It's verging on crazy how little they've offered. At this point, I'd just like to see a 'proof of life' for Josh Trank.:o

I don't much care for you either Lumpkin but occasionally I respond to people I don't care for.:yay:

I agree that they should have debuted something at comic con.

Where have they told people to take it down? Apparently I missed that...sometimes I just can't keep up. lol

^ I think DenofGeek were ordered to remove it, they had a hissyfit article about it. It basically confirms the Thing bust is legit :D

I can understand not having a trailer ready just yet but Yeah I don't see any reason not to debut a logo or a good clear pic at the Thing bust if the CGI thing isn't ready yet

I view Willie as the most level-headed of the dissenters. I think he's open to the movie but disappointed in the direction. He often posts clear and concise arguments for his opinion in a respectable manner

They really should've debuted at least a logo at SDCC

I don't understand the thinking in....

Not taking a day out of filming, and it would have been just a day. Flown the 4 to San Diego, done a 3 hour autograph session in front of the logo, and flown them back. That would have been about a 12 hour day....let them sleep a few hours and then back up again to finish up shooting.

What the heck? why was that not done?

Check the last page of the poll thread related to the image. I posted it there.

I don't dislike anybody. It was the post that wasn't worth the time.

Yikes....I've asked, so we'll see what I have to do with our little Thing. lol

Thanks. I wouldn't even consider myself a 'dissenter'. Show me something to get excited about and I'll be excited. I've actually been gaining some optimism. I generally liked the Thing bust, Kinberg made some encouraging comments, Miles Teller has been looking fit and mature and Toby Kebbel's perpormance in Planet of the Apes was impressive. I still have a lot of doubts, but I think it's possible we could get something better than my worst fears have painted.

And I'm going to assume ISS's comments were tongue in cheek. Nobody could dislike me. :funny:

Let Doom be Doom, and Willie will be jumping through the computer screen, along with Goblin...
