I'll be honest, like Red Skull in CA:TWS, I wouldn't mind if Doom had metalic skin rather than an actual mask. It always helps aid a performance to have a face that can move rather than covered by a mask.

I'd still prefer the mask, but I wouldn't be opposed to skin...

As ridiculous as the goat legs are, if you gave me these two choices:

A. Doom is transformed by the accident and his skin turns into 'organic armor'.

or

B. Doom is disfigured by the accident and he builds armor to cover his scarred face and ridiculous goat legs. That armor serves to not only mask his disfigurement but gives him the ability to constantly augment his abilities and, therefore, have nearly limitless capabilities.

I'd take B (though I'd much rather prefer a more traditional origin).

As bad as the goat legs were, there were a lot of other elements of the UFF Doom that bothered me more.

I'm afraid if they went as far as using the "goat legs" from UFF, you are going to get the other things as well....

As far as Doom, doesn't really matter to me, there are other things that I am hoping for that outweigh which Doom they use.

I'm happy that Doom looks like his ultimate part, minus the goat legs.

It does look like Ultimate Doom before the armor....my hope is that we just don't see him in that state for very long.

Yeah it depends on the story, will he rule Latveria in this movie? Or is that something for the sequel? If the movie is mostly on the N-Zone, the Doom look makes even more sense.

I was hopeful about this reboot... and then Dr. Potato happened.

It's just weird seeing some people repeating the same ebb and flow of Kinberg's Quicksilver in DOFP.

I'd agree with you Guard.

Mob-mentality can be a runaway train at times. I'm not saying there's no merit to not liking what they see aesthetically, but the scale and quality of the reaction to his appearance was preposterous if you ask me.

What if his outfit actually looks cool in motion?

Quicksilver looked a lot better in that brief scene in the trailer, IMO. I think they achieved the desired look a little better on film than in still photos.

He looks pretty much the same as he did in stills, except not wearing the silver jacket.

Honestly, I think people were *****ing just to ***** and because they weren't used to the 70's styles he wears.

Trank already saw the first FF. I don't think he's going to make the same mistake as Story's Doom.

This Doom reminds me of UFF where he was walking around in just a cloak after the accident and hiding.

Even in those shots I don't see anything egregious or amazing. I see lots of things that are going to be turned into something else in a computer. Maybe the visuals will be bad and maybe they won't.

As for costumes, if people can accept the bad costuming in the X-Men films they should be able to accept any costuming they don't like in a FF film as long as it's decent.

My least favorite about the leaked picture is the mask. It just reminds me of the dark elves. The body, I have a feeling that shot is during the fight scene with Human Torch/Thing and his clothes were burned... but his cape is still there so I don't know. But even if thats the *final look*, it doesn't mean that the movie will be bad. We still don't know the story. I mean, hello look at the costume of Magneto and the X-Men in X1 and the other films. So totally different from the comics.

I just hope all these bad early buzz will make Fox wake-up and release an official picture or do something.

They should just release something soon, a poster or a still or an official social media account for the film. Though the bad reaction to the leaked pics would only simmer down once they release a better look for Doom.

A poster would be nice... or maybe a look at the F4's costumes. (unless the costumes suck, that is)

They should save the costumes for the teaser trailer. But a few pictures of the cast staring at something and a working logo would be nice.

Set photos would be just fine with me. I'm not asking for heavy marketing now because that would be a waste of money but simple set photos and a logo would be nice.

Yeah but Fox probably won't do that until December or next year. Ugh I'd hate to wait that long.

So do you think Fox will release a teaser when Night At the Museum premieres because that is their big holiday release.

I have no idea. The trailer for FirstClass came out in February while the trailer for The Wolverine came out in March. Dofp got a very early trailer release in October but it was the Comic con trailer. Taken 3 is coming out inJanuary and there is still no trailer for that.

Besides Assassin's Creed, F4 is their only action scifi film for the summer. The rest are comedy, horror and animated films. I feel like they will debut the trailer of one of their animated films with Night at the Museum.

You just reminded me of how much I have disliked Fox's marketing lately.

Well, bearing in mind that it's a BTS shot and the effects haven't been added yet, I can actually see this costume looking fairly badass in the final version.

I remember many disliked Matnetos DOFP costume in the first Magazine pic. In the movie it was awesome. Not the same thing of course but I've found that often a costume looks better I. Action than in stills

My hope is that that lizard mummy looking thing is just Doom before armor...

There's a good chance of that. I can't think of any superhero movies of the last few years where the villain had just one outfit
