he's answered several questions now

Is his look from the leaked set photos basically what he looks like in the movie?

-Pretty much. There's gonna be some CG enhancements, obviously. But it's more or less the same. Towards the end of the movie, he tells the Four that he can do "good" with his power and help his homeland.

How's the CGI of The Thing? How much of the movie takes place in the Negative Zone?

-The CGI wasn't finished yet, given that it's a rough cut... but design wise, he looks fine. Very Thing-like. The first half of the second act and the final battle. I'd guess around 30 minutes in total is spent in the Negative Zone (referred to as Dimension N in the movie itself).

Why do you think Fox is being so secretive about this movie? Is there anything completely terrible about the film that would make Fox be hesitant about marketing it?

-I really have no idea! In my personal opinion, the movie isn't a complete trainwreck - it's a genuinely good movie. I guess they don't want to piss off the die-hard fans, but I really don't know.

It's hard to say if it's legit or not. Everything he says is very close to what we'd expect - which could mean he's been keeping up with the rumors or could mean he has real information.

I would think you'd have to be foolish to risk your job by doing something like this . . . but it would also seem foolish to go to the trouble of creating a graphic and offering fake information for no discernible reason.

Thanks for posting in any case.

Man, I wonder if he plans on continuing his job? Because if he is caught, he is screwed.

Definitely fake. That title looks so amateur. Looks like Word '98 wordart. I could whip something up that looks better than that in 5 minutes, throw it up on media player, take a picture and then say I'm an editor too. Plus, NOBODY would be that stupid. Definitely fake

That is what I'm thinking...I just don't think someone would be stupid enough to put their job in jeopardy like that.

As much I do feel that the info does sound real I have a hard time with it. The poster is using a brand new account which is smart if you really wanted to give out information that you don't want tracked to you, but then they fill their posts with information that could allow any employer with half a brain to track down their real identity. I think its more likely that this is just a troll... although it could be someone who is just not that smart.

That text looks really cheap. It's the gradient that makes it seem like that. Then again, IF that is real, it could be a placeholder for the logo. At this point who knows if they even have the logo jeesh.

I'm a studying graphic design, pretty much all I do is study text and typography... and that might be the most unprofessional looking logo I've ever seen try to pass for one. The drop shadow and the overpowering gradient are so shoddily handled. That's what has me convinced that this is fake, I've gone on record saying that I think this movie will be awful but even I have to concede to the fact that Fox is above that.
I really don't believe this guy, but one person's response interested me:
A buddy of mine has been working on the CGI for the Thing. He recently left the production though. He is a huge F4 fan and the Thing is one of his favorite characters in general. He is very unhappy with the direction of the movie. He was especially upset with the way Doom is being represented. He did say however, that they were doing some rewrites and that those were positive changes. Those might be what op is referring to. He called it a cluster**** nonetheless.
This sounds more in line to what we have been hearing. I really doubt things behind the scenes are going according to plan at all, so to have someone come out and say, "Here's something the studio isn't showing you! Not sure why they're hiding this movie, but everythings honky dory on our end!" seems fishy to say the least.

Have been skimming a bit, but it seems fake to me. The bit about Domaschev at the end saying he can "do good in his homeland" or whatever. It just reads like bs.

It does look very amateur, but just out of interest, what should a professional logo look like since you've been studying that? What should be done with the gradient and drop shadow?

Or he got smart and realized he could very well lose his job and all other jobs from now on.

From what relatively little experience I have gotten as a student (because once again, I'm a student and not a designer yet lol) everything in general should just be toned down.
The drop shadow is particularly bad because it is so far back from the letters that it is distracting and almost looks like a separate entity. I'm not a huge fan of drop shadows to begin with but when they are used they should be incorporated with subtly. That looks like they just clicked "drop shadow" and went with the default settings instead of actually tinkering with it to make it look right.
The gradient is less offensive but still off-putting. I'd like to see the white brought down a little bit so the transition from white to blue wouldn't be so stark. The decision to make it white and blue is one I support because those are signature FF colors but, once again, it doesn't look like they spent the time actually designing it to make it look right.
Just my two cents. I'm sure there are graphic designers out there who would disagree with me but those are my thoughts.

I need a rosetta stone to read any of that....lol

Haha I've been studying it for 4 years now and a lot of it still goes over my head. It's a very subjective field.
I will say this though, that could be a motion graphic in which case the drop shadow and gradient could change throughout the sequence. That might make it look better because this is obviously a pretty low-quality photo, so it's tough to judge off of. So if this ends up being legit (which I still doubt) it could easily look better in motion when it is on a screen right in front of me and not on a grainy cell phone picture.

I'm not sure that a troll would have deleted the information so quickly. Seems to be he got scared, WHICH HE SHOULD HAVE....

I still find it strange that someone would take a photo with their camera because they were afraid that they would be tracked if they too a screenshot or anything like that, then proceed to tell everyone how they got it, the job they did on the film, when they had been brought on to the film etc., all information that would make it very easy for Fox to figure out who they were.

Has it been deleted? I notice that it is no longer listed on the FF subreddit but if you use the direct link works fine. I don't have a lot of experience with reddit so I have no idea if that is normal for a deleted post.

BTW is that supposed to be the earth or the moon or something in the screenshot? I'm just asking since from what we know their won't be any space flight or anything like that so I'm just wondering why the film would start with that sort of shot.

The subreddit itself seems to be very inactive, so do you think he thought nobody high up would notice?

This whole thing is pretty fishy.

The subreddit probably deleted it. You can still access it through the link though and his posts are still there. Though his account does appear to be gone.

Reminds me of when that fake Josh Trank account was made on Twitter and whoever that was was trying to put some positive light on the movie, only to be deleted a few days later

Thanks. But wouldn't one situation where you might not use drop shadow as subtly be where you're just writing ordinary text (eg narration text) for a comic book picture where you want the writing still in white, but don't want to put the yellow box around it because it will obscure the picture below? There you might want a darker drop shadow behind it to make the white writing stand out, but with the shadow obviously not so far back as to make the writing confusing. Don't know if I'm explaining myself very well without a picture as an example.

Not that it's the case in that FF picture we saw, but I'm just talking generally.

I hope hope hooooope this is true.

I hope hope hooooope this is true.

And then there's another guy in the same thread who says he knows somebody who worked on it and they said the movie was total crap.

That one is probably true.

Ha, I just remembered. Even the original poster said the movie "wasn't completely bad" and even called it "Chronicle 2."

I can already see the train wreck.

I certainly hope it's all fake, because for the few bright spots there are several things that don't sound good at all.

If true, Doom gets powers and looks pretty much like he did in the leaked photos. There's some unspecified, unexpected romance, and that can only be bad.

I also don't like the idea of a good part of the movie and the final battle taking place in 'Dimension N'. If that happens, it will be all about Doom Vs. the FF as opposed to the FF protecting people from Doom . . . as superheroes do.

They don't become heroes by battling for their own lives - that's what anybody would do. Superheroes become heroes by risking their lives to protect others.

My sense is this is fake, but I'm afraid even if it is, we're hearing enough about various elements from various sources, that we're likely to get some or all of the flaws mentioned.
