Just remembering Kim Basinger in Batman makes me wonna stock up on cotton for my ears because she was so shrilling.

I only like Rachel Dawes to keep living so Katie can come back to do Batman no.3 Katie was the ideal Rachel Dawes and call me shallow but she is beautiful unlike Maggie who looks like a dirty old hippie and I dont see her acting as that terrific. TDK is not special all female roles in superhero films are bland and no matter how tough Rachel is Batman will still save her. I even think Superman should ditch Bosworth and Holmes can take over. Holmes nowadays has this hot spunky sophisticated look very Lois Lane material.

Just a hunch really, but I'm also saying that Rachel and Alfred aren't the only 2 people in the world whose deaths would affect him on some level. Bats is the sworn protector of Gotham and maybe hundreds of people are being killed off by a nutjob whose theatrics may or may not have been influenced by him to a point. He doesn't look horribly upset to me in that scene, as well. More along the lines of sad and frustrated.

Huh? Where did you see him crying? That was a typical identity crisis shot, he looks tired, not ready to cry.

I thought Katie was ok. Character wasnt needed but I thought she gave a fairly decent effort. There was some lines and moments that felt a bit dodgy and cringeworthy (in the car with Bruce and when the Gaurd just allows her to walk pass him into the narrows.) but overall she was ok.
Katie Holmes is amongst that unfourtante list of girl next door cute actresses who no matter how much they put a decent effort, theres gonna be a fan backlash because they dont fit the ideal bill and people have a pre-disposed idea of them from past work. Overall though decent go that I thought was marred by things that were going on at the time of the release. If we stomach Bale's voice as Batman (which let me say also, wasnt that bad but was pretty noticable) then I think Katie did ok.
Maggie is a great actress and I think she'll do pretty good in whatever capacity Rachel is in the movie.

If Katie Holmes stuck to roles she could play, she wouldn't get the backlash. Frankly, I've seen her act well, so I know she's capable of a good performance. But she didn't do much with her role in BATMAN BEGINS.

Hey the only thing that bothered me about the Rachel Dawes character was pretty much Katie Holmes. Not a lot though or at least nowhere as much some people here seemed to have hated her lol. Actually the only real thing that made me angry was when I read about her calling all her friends saying "i got a ride in the batmobile, oh look at me, blah blah blah" lyk the typical cheerleader waiting for her jock to pick her up in his `daddy paid for hotwheels`. But the character itself doesnt bother me at all especially since Rachel isnt the typical danzel in distress female

I don't like Tom Cruise at all.

Anyway, I thought Katie was doing pretty good job in Batman Begins. It's too bad, she's not in the sequel. Personally, I'm looking forward to see Maggie in the sequel and hopefully, she'll be doing really good. I never see any of her movies. So yeah...

katie was okay, the worst part for me was when she steered the car suddenly, which didn't fit her persona, and then slapped him for saying he wanted to kill that guy. There was no emotion. It was like "robot: must slap now. don't know why. make weird face to show I am acting."
And the end where she says this is your mask, and the kiss which had as much spark as two wet socks rubbing against each other was so bad IMO.
though kate's great to look at, I had more fun watching Maggie kick it to the joker and look with genuine surprise and interest in her eyes at bruce. two seconds in the trailer had more reaction from me and also more trust in her character than with katie.
it is weird to see them switch, but i'm too interested in ledger's joker to care much.

Please . She did a decent job . I was not suspecting a Oscar worthy performance from her . She just did a bad job promoting the movie during interviews

I think the ultimate worse thing Katie has done to us was simply not return...Regardless of the fact that the majority didnt want her involved in the first place it is pretty annoying to see another actor/actress take over the role...no disrespect to maggie though who I think is going to do a fine job!

Anyone think that Maggie's makeup already looks a bit Joker-ish in the party scene? Not intentionally...but she doesn't wear that sort of makeup all that well.

they're trying to really make her look hot.
