wached some and it seemed to contadict itself. It got young host and inculded clips from younger movies,which seemed to me like it was heading to a Social Network win. Then older peopl started winning and King's Speech won? Not saying it wasnt godd since hadnt seen it. but seem like with all youth they tried to put in to prove they where young and hip they would have gone with Social Network.

Didn't know Amy Adams has been nominated three times. Thought this was her second.

Her first nomination was for Junebug, a movie most people already forgot exists. The second was for Doubt, another movie most people already forgot about. Hopefully, The Fighter will have longer lasting power.

It's a shame, too, because I think that still remains her most impressive performance. She broke my heart into teeny tiny pieces in that movie.

Goddammit, jacobed, I was going to suggest Tom Hanks. He would be a fantastic host. Get Jackman back or he could host with hathaway, who was good, or get RDJ. Law and RDJ would be nice too. Crystal is always welcome.

As much as I love Conan, he is the worst at monologues.

Other than Fincher not winning, I was pleased with the awards, with some surprises (Wally winning and King Speech's not winning every single one)

So Leo dropped an F bomb. Big deal. They bleeped it out. She's such trash because she says a word we all use every day. Winners can say whatever they want as long as they don't cross a line, academy or not telling them. God forbid she can be excited and not help that.

The highlights to me were Bale winning of course, the tall afro wearing director for his short film, Kirk Douglas Hathaway singing to Jackman, (his reaction was the best part of that) Franco who I don't know whether to be disapointed or laugh at his laid backness. I thought he was stoned. Which is awesome.

Trent Rezner winning was kind of a surprise too.

So many hot looking women. Goddamn. Helen Mirren still looks bangin'.

But Bale winning takes the cake. He's finally been recognized for his craft. Now we can no longer asky why the hell he doesn't have an Oscar yet. It's going to be kind of hard to adjust to thinking of him as an Oscar winner when watching his films now. We're so used to what it was like before. Anyone who has ill feelings towards him for his rant really need to get past it.

The showing of the event was pretty bland. It all seemed too orderly and blocky to me. There wasn't alot of natural stuff going on. Bullock presenting was nice thoguh, as she got to add her own personality to it.

Does anyone have the last part of the show for Best Picture as a video somewhere? My DVR didn't record up to that point

Christian winning was definitely the highlight. Not only was it great to see him finally win but his speech was perfect. I loved how he poked fun at himself and how humble he really is.

You can find countless Oscar hosts who have said similiar things in pre-show interviews. And again, its in tune with Franco's humor. As for him taking a red-eye back to Yale, that's really no suprise. He's been doing it every week in the lead up to the Oscars (flying to L.A. for rehersals, promo shoots, etc on Friday and then taking the red-eye back on Sunday night). Franco is, and I know this is strange considering he is a multi-millionaire, very enthusiastic and serious about his education.

I think the producers should apologize, because they did not understand who they hired. Franco was brought on to get a younger audience. They didn't really research who Franco is as a comedian. And that bit them right in the ass. Franco was not right for the show. His sense of humor was not right for the show. But the blame for that is not on Franco, its on the producers for hiring him. Franco is being scapegoated by producers trying to save face. He did exactly what he was asked to do, be James Franco the comedian. But James Franco's humor just does not mesh with the Oscars.

I find Franco funny in general, but he just wasnt that funny yesterday. Same goes with Anne Hathaway. BOth funny, but they didnt bring there A game

I personally expect it to pick up something of a cult following in years to come. James Franco took a piss on the Oscars, because that is Franco's humor. Act like you're stoned out of your mind and don't give a ****. Its like when Joaquin Phoenix did Letterman. Its that type of thing. The tweeting, the videoes, the missed cues and dim demeanor were all part of the running joke that Franco had going all night.

Exactly. Ever since Rock offended everybody, the producers have been moving in a direction of hiring people who will kiss the asses of the Hollywood elite and move away from the roast style hosting of the past. This trend culminated with Jackman whose hosting consisted of kissing any ass that moved while limiting his joke topic to how much he loves to dance and Wolverine. They tried to move back to the roast format, at least somewhat, with Steve Martin, but he is past his prime. Franco basically roasted the whole damn event by taking a piss on it. Therefore, I expect the producers to play it safe next year and go for either Ellen, Jackman, or someone along those lines again.

Really? In my high school there were several kids like him. Shy, don't talk to many people and don't know how to talk to many people or connect with people. All they do is either go on the computer or read Wall Street Journal.
