The Reboot Joker

No origins. No Harley. One of my favorite cinematic Joker, my favorite being Heath, is young Napier in B89 (the one who kills Bruce's parents) .This guy was pretty creepy and spot on, much better than Nicholson imo (who was a better "Joker" in The Shining. Younger, slimmer, scarier )

Never liked the character, just like I don't care for Robin. I prefer Joker and Batman to be loners, the flip side of each other, the "you complete me" thing done so brilliantly in TDK.
But of course, to each their own:yay:
Also in terms of the look of the Joker,I think they should go back to the source. My avatar partly inspired the creation of the character, maybe they should do something closer to that visually. I want him to be skinny and scary like in TKJ.

I want to see a Joker origin, but I have no idea who should be him.

most people do, but robin's already had 3 (technically 4 depending on how you wanna count it ) movies. seems a bit unfair for joker's henchwench not to have one.

i agree on how he should look. i've been thinking the same thing.

Whenever they do bring back the Joker, I hope they somehow make Mark Hamill's Joker in live action, I know some ppl will hate for this, but he's my favorite Joker over all the others :D

The Joker's Five way Revenge should be a movie. Use it as a thrid film which blend all of the Joker (Jack, mark, and Health verison) and possibly serve as a photo-sequel to all of them.

JGL's character only exists in the Nolan films, and he's made it clear they are over. The only chance we will see a JGL Batman is if they do an Earth-1/Earth-2 styled crossover.

I would love to see the Joker look like this! It would be hard to pull off, but it would be so creepy, yet awesome!

My ideal choice for the Joker:

-Michael Sheen
-Crispin Glover
-Anthony Misiano
-Tom Hiddleston
I like it, but it feels too "horror film" imo. The Devil should be seductive.
I dont know Misiano, but I like the Hiddleston suggestion.

Welcome to the Hype.

marvel's already stolen him. :csad:

misiano proves to be a decent cosplayer, but we have yet to see his actual performance in its entirety. he's apparently going to be in a series of fan films called the batman chronicles so .... we'll see.

crispin glover i used to think would be a good choice, but i'm not so sure if he has the charisma for the part. his parts are usually creepy, yes, but it's the "quiet, timid , scaredy cat / overall weirdo " kind of creepy. which is NOT the joker at all. he'd be better for scarecrow probably.

sheen i haven't seen enough of to comment on.

......i'm not sure what that has to do with anything in this particular thread.

I really do feel a great way to introduce the new Joker would be by giving him his own solo film. I would save him for the final batman showdown in the new series dropping subtle hints of his existence in ALL previous movies. By doing this, we could finally get Harley on screen & give the audience something they never had in an "origin" story (which IMO could be done without ever giving up his name or hometown) If audiences could see what drove a man to the madness of what would eventually become Batmans greatest enemy, and if the character is written well people could view Heaths Joker (best Joker yet!!) as an afterthought

they should cast david tennant as joker and put him in part of the reboot franchise .

Joker solo film would be such a good way too show a rebooted Batman. He wouldn't even be the main character, he'd be a really mysterious character, and a Joker film would be so new and fresh. If it could be based on Brian Azzarello's Joker & The Killing Joke that could be an awesome movie.

Joker reboot can't have his origin to begin with. It needs batman first. If the joker movie goes well and then a batman movie comes if the batman actor sucks then this has all been for nothing.

it wouldn't happen, but what i'd love to see is a quentin tarantino directed movie based on late 30's to early 40's batman/joker with one of these guys :

I would definetely include Harley Quinn next time. It's new.

Or even if you could finish the first movie with Joker being locked up in Arkham and after Batman interrogates him he walks off and says to the doctor "he's all yours Doctor Quinzel". That's enough.

Then develop her in the sequel.

Since the DCU and MU are going to be competing over a very long time in cinema (If DC can pick up the slack for once and deliever their promises (longtime dc fan)). Have a batman saga, like 5 films intertwining with justice league and worlds finest/trinity or whatever my ideas for after nolan. With Joker involved heavily after film 3. he must be saved for film 3 to give some distance from heath ledgers joker

The Batman (Year 2 still vigilante. Penguin as villain)
Batman: Black Mask (Includes Deadshot introduces Dick Grayson as Zucco works for Sionis)
Batman: The Killing Joke (Joker introduction Dick dates Babs, Joker paralyses her targets Gordan and tries to kill Robin, Dick leaves Batman's side.. no joker origin story)
Batman: Arkham Asylum (Strange and Scarecrow , Arkhams inmates run wild on the island, jason todd is robin, joker kills him at the end)
Batman: Red Hood (Comic book fans know joker involved along with black mask)
Batman: No mans land (all previous villains involved ras is the master mind.Tim introduced, Babara is now oracle all previous robins involved.)

I don't know what their plan is, but here's what I hope happens if a reboot is on the table.

Joker HAS to fall in the chemicals. Batman has to have a hand in it.

Because the one complaint I have with Nolan's Joker is that he was not Batman's monster. Sure, there is the argument that Heath's Joker was inspired.

But it wasn't the same as the comics. It wasn't as effective.

Joker is Batman's responsibility. Shocking, but true.

For every kill Joker makes, Batman knows the blood is on his hands. Joker is showing him in the most harshest way he can, that he is his child. Batman planted the seed, and the chemicals gave birth.

Joker is Batman's creation. His monster. His child.

That makes the relationship all the more deeper when Joker points this out. And Batman feels that guilt.

I've never seen Batman in the comics feel guilty about the Joker's actions as though he was somehow responsible.

Things allude to it. Arkham City and The Dark Knight Returns.
Even in Batman 89, when Joker points out that it was he who created him, his face dropped.

In the long run. Batman knows Joker is right. He was what caused him to fall in the chemicals. But he tries his best not to let him get to him and destroy him. He just has to push on with the guilt.

Everything that ties the two together is the relationship of the creator and the creation. Symbolic of the father and son. Batman feels the responsibilities of his creation. It deepens their twisted bond.
