The Avengers The Robert Downey Jr/Iron Man Thread

Yea Stark is stealing the show in the marketing, makes sense. It's done well though. The trailer introduces them all individually. Cap, Hulk, Thor then Iron Man. It's about the characterisation too.

The shots of IM dogfighting are :BA

^ Well any of the Avengers would be able to steal the show if they were featured as prominently as Iron Man, he's really the only one who does anything spectacular in the trailers.

It's just the way they're marketing the film, it's not really stealing the show if the spotlight is being thrust upon you.

Looks like he took a beating!
Do you guys think this is after the Thor fight or after the fight with Loki's Army.

^ Are you sure that isn't a pic of Iron Man at the end of the battle with Iron Monger in IM1?

If that is a picture from The Avengers then it definately isn't after his fight with Thor, because he's wearing the Mark VI armor which has the triangle chest piece during that battle.

ok just checking. Found it on an avengers site. I couldn't tell.

Forgot his new one has a Triangle chest.

It's from Iron Man. It's clearly the Mark III. The Mark VII (also circular chest piece) has a different coloring and different shoulders.

Also, it's just the chest piece in the armor that changes, guys. The reactor underneath stays the same.

^^^Well that, along with his hairstyle int hat picture should give indication that it's from IM1 as well.

Bio: Since relocating his operations to the newly constructed Stark Tower in New York, the Repulsor-powered hero Iron Man has been in more frequent contact with S.H.I.E.L.D. As the eccentric billionaire and brilliant inventor Tony Stark, he serves as an advisor to Nick Fury's peacekeeping and intelligence agency. But when a new crisis leads to the activation of the Avengers Initiative, Stark readily powers up his newest armor, the Iron Man Mark VII, which utilizes the latest in laser targeted armor deployment and integrated Repulsor tech.

^ Cool, I can't wait to see more of the new Mark VII armor in action, I wonder how powerful his uni-beam is with this new suit.

Yep, it was confirmed a few months by a pretty reliable poster a while back.

It would make sense for them to market Ironman heavy, hes most reconizable character in the team, plus he has two movies thus far with the Avengers being his third, and the character has been around since 2008

I didn't say it doesn't make sense, I just said it's not really "stealing the show" if alot of the spotlight is intentionally placed one character.

I only had a problem with it looking like IM was the main character/leader...but if it was because he's the most popular right now, then okay. No probs. Love Iron Man. :)

Oh hell yeah, that helps renew my hopes of seeing Iron Man unleash a barrage of missiles at some point in the movie.

I've noticed since it's debut a few months ago that Stark seems to have incorporated shoulder pods like War Machine

He replaced his air flaps with additional repulsor jets(silver parts on the top of his back

It really makes the Mark 6 look really outdated. Probably why it's likely to get scrapped in the first battle with loki's army.

Yeah it does make the Mark 6 model looka bit "light weight", personally I'm hoping it gets scrapped after sustaining heavy damage in Iron Man's battle with Thor.

I'm sure it does. I visited a site that clamed it was written by someone that saw the screening. I'm didn't read the entire thing but from what i can remember I'll give you a summary.

(Can't remember the site. lol I read like one paragraph and then panicked. I shut down my entire browsers and deleted my history so that i couldn't fine it again.) I don't want to Spoil the movie for my self.

The Hulk was trying to lift Mjolnir but couldn't. Then Ironman flew at him and the Hulk lets go of Mjolnir then tosed IM at some shield agents. Then Cap threw his shield at the back of hulks head and then tried to flip over him the Hulk caught him and pined him to the ground. He raised his fist to smash him then Fury yelled "How about using that Superior tech"(Sarcastically) at IM. IM said i can't my suite is malfunctioning. Then out of no where Mjolnir smashes Hulk in the face.

^ I don't know if that was a real or not but its what i read.

That scene might have happened right after the Cap,IM, and Thor fought. That might be when he get the new upgrade Armour.

Well on a side note, it seems that if the description above is accurate, then my theory about Stark Tower having only recently been built was true after all.
