The Avengers The Robert Downey Jr/Iron Man Thread

Well on a side note, it seems that if the description above is accurate, then my theory about Stark Tower having only recently been built was true after all.

I think the storybook said that Stark Tower was recently built, so you're probably correct.

\(Can't remember the site. lol I read like one paragraph and then panicked. I shut down my entire browsers and deleted my history so that i couldn't fine it again.) I don't want to Spoil the movie for my self.

The Hulk was trying to lift Mjolnir but couldn't. Then Ironman flew at him and the Hulk lets go of Mjolnir then tosed IM at some shield agents. Then Cap threw his shield at the back of hulks head and then tried to flip over him the Hulk caught him and pined him to the ground. He raised his fist to smash him then Fury yelled "How about using that Superior tech"(Sarcastically) at IM. IM said i can't my suite is malfunctioning. Then out of no where Mjolnir smashes Hulk in the face.

^ I don't know if that was a real or not but its what i read.

I've read the description before and I hope it isn't really, because the fightin that description just sounded so lame.

Yeah, but keep in mind that the fight in that description was only a piece of what was to come. Presumably, Hulk got back up after Thor
sent him flying with Mjolnir
and that's when the REAL fighting started.

The whole thing was lame to me, it started off lame from the beginning and the dialogue was even worse than the fight was.

I dont think its real. All the dialogue we have seen has been good

Joss Whedon on Iron Man's Suit in The Avengers

:funny:

Hoo-rah, I much prefer the circle piece anyway so that's good to hear. Though I have to wonder if Shane Black will reverse it again in IM3, hehe

Iron Man's circlular chest piece is quite iconic indeed, but man that triangular chest peice looks so f***in' awesome on the Mark 6.

Ugly grey stuff all over the suit, busy gold "highlights" everywhere. Ridiculous shoulder things

Makes fun of the triangle calling it 'ass' and says he likes the "classics"

yeah ok whedon.

I still don't understand why Mark 7 has so much gray in it, I would've liked for them to keep the colors completely red and gold.

Yeah, I would've kept it purely gold-and-crimson red, but that is the only problem I have with Mark VII. Everything else is fine.

As for Whedon's comment about the triangle and how it looks like a**, I won't go that far, but I do think the circular chest is more iconic than triangle. But if they ever adapt the Armored War storyline for IM, though, I wish they'd not only bring back the triangle but also paint it silver-and-red, as a tribute for the Centurion armor that Stark wore during that event.

Re circle vs. triangle, if the chest thing is a lens for the unibeam, then the circle makes more sense from a functionality perspective. At least it does to me. XD

I understood with the Mark 6 since it was incomplete and Stark needed to get to the Stark Expo

But the grey looks bad

The ab area looks bad on the statue

The shoulder's look "feminine"

Going from triangle to circle was more of preference for Stark

The new element didn't HAVE to be in triangle form.

I prefer the triangle, but I don't mind the circle. Nice to know the explanation for the change though.

I've always lean towards classic so I'm happy about the circle.

Probably a nod to Ultimate Iron Man. Although thank god he didn't go *all* the way....Ult is one of the ugliest Stark costumes ever, bar none.

That's fitting since virtually everything about the Ultimates is ugly.

I'm pretty used to a black nick fury now though. Lol

Agreed. I HATE it. Especially the fact that he seems to be able to randomly generate it out of nowhere. And they did that in 616 too!! So it's just so weird for me. Circle chest pieces and having to walk across your roof with robots pulling the pieces of armor off you sounds better.

That's my only criticism of the Mark VII suit. Not loving the grey.

White hairs. He's gettin' old. Soon we'll be having a Tony Stark who looks like Reed Richards.

Still kicks a lot of ass though.

Has it occurred to anyone else that nobody catches Tony when he's tossed the window? I'm thinking he lands on the balcony/platform below the penthouse. Just a thought. :)

^ maybe he lands in the pool. (Was there a pool in the movies?) Or he lands on the (restored) grand piano in his living room.

Maybe Thor catches him.
