The Amazing Spider-Man 2 The Scene Gwen Stacey Died - Part 1

I mean he wasn't accurate to the comic books, but for that incarnation, I think Molina's Ock was fantastic for what he was supposed to be.

I didn't mean character in terms of adaptation, but in terms of the film itself. He felt somewhat dry, or minimal. He's not a driving force in the film so much as what's going on in Peter's personal life.

Oh, well that I can sort of agree on. The focus of the film is Peter dealing with the responsibilities of being Spider-Man, and Doc Ock is one of the obstacles he has to face.

I hate to be that guy...but I think we're susposed to be disscuing "the scene Gwen Stacy died" lol.

I have no idea, but I suppose it's possible that this is at the bottom of the tunnel.

He looks like he's mourning... and in the video, I see a little bit of light teal, so she would have to be close... like in his arms... :csad:

Do you think anything is happening at the bridge?

I think there will be a battle there given some of the shoots, but as for her possible demise, I think it's going to be at the clocktower. Which I don't mind! Even if Gwen's death isn't exactly like the original source, I'll be fine! I'm just hoping it's faithful within its context, and so by Green Goblin.

Yeah, I agree with that. As long as it is well executed and serves the story well, I'm cool with whatever they end up doing.

Jesus. Just by looking at this still, I feel whatever pain is in Peter. That's crazy. I think Andrew is gonna deliver good.

Bad stuff always seems to happen in a clocktower in Spider-Man land.

Unless you've seen stuff from the bridge that I haven't, everything we've seen seems to indicate that the bridge is just there as a backdrop to a conversation of some kind between Gwen and Pete.

Back on the subject of Gwen dying, I think there are 3 different scenarios potentially 'in play' for her death based on what we currently know:
1) She loses her grip on that web line somehow
2) The web line gets cut or breaks while Pete's fighting Harry
3) She's hit by falling debris during the fight between Pete and Harry, which knocks her lose from the web line

There was a scene filmed right next to the bridge where in some set photos, Spider-Man is swinging with Gwen, and in others, she is just glancing at it. Not sure what to make of it.

Anyways, the shot of Peter screaming in the trailer reminds me a lot of this:

It seems to me based on what we know and have seen that she meets him on the bridge, they have a conversation of some kind, and then they swing down together.

That's probably what's going to happen, unless there filmed more parts of that scene in front of a green screen?

Glad I'm not the only one who thought that!

I have two views on how I think they play it out

1. He catches her with the web piece of rock hits her after he catches her snapping her neck

or the one I agree with some other people is the likely scenario

2. He catches her with his web either she loses her grip or Goblin causes him to drop her again either by cutting the web or something he goes to catch her again and snaps her neck.

I will be a little surprised not a lot if they let her fall to her death instead of letting Peter have her in her final moment, but I just don't know if you could pass up the scene of him holding her lifeless body for that emotional pull for the audience at that stage of the movie

I am curious if maybe seeing that she works at oscorp before the fight with Goblin in his final fight with Electro he damages his web shooters and she fixes one making it a little too strong/powerful and this ends up being the shooter he ultimately catches her with at the end because I would expect Gwens death during the final battle of the movie.

Also curious if she does in fact kick the bucket in this one if maybe the black suit gets introduced due to the anger & guilt Peter feels it latches onto that leading into maybe the next film or beginning of the next film. Just guesses but those are my two for how she dies.

I think the black suit would work for the Sinister Six film, but leave it out of TASM2 and 3.

I wonder if the webline we see her hanging on to is the same one that comes from the iconic shot of Spidey landing in the cog and shooting his web down?

Hard to say since it looks like the two scenes were put together for the trailer.

Dude, I couldn't sleep because of how awesome all of that footage was.

yeah thats what i was thinking I thought like the teasers at the end of the movie introduction after Gwens death is what I meant for this one maybe teasing for the next film or just do it at the start of the next one which should include the entire sinister 6

also not sure if anyone has pointed this out I am sure they have watching that piece with Peter grieving I noticed in the bottom in the middle for a brief instant at the start of that clip almost blonde hair or color of gwens coat like peters holding her I didn't notice it until I was checking out the gif page anyone else see that? I only noticed it because of the color of the scene it didn't match up with any of the clocktowers colors, here is the gif i caught that in

Yeah, someone pointed out the hair earlier. I think Gwen is dead.

Lol! I just think it's amazing how this footage....to the GA it can be cool but to us hard fans, it's just awesome stuff and it has this effect on us. Look, you couldn't sleep? We all know how that is. I know how you're feeling :yay:

God...I don't know WHAT I'm going to do in this scene with Peter.

I think I'll deal with it straight up. No kleenex lol. We'll see. This movie looks like it has the potential to be the best yet, at the same time being the best CBM with a romance so intimate. Look at all the shots of them in the trailer: their date ("I'd like to think Spider-Man gives people hope."), them kissing on the rooftop ("this is my path"), all leading up to her at the clock tower? Jesus.

That's the thing: we need scenes like that to give her death a meaning, you know? That's where The Dark Knight failed in regards to Rachel's death: no one had an attachment to her character.

Let alone, for Maggie Gyllenhaal!! LOL
Sorry. #TeamKatie
