Shield looks great as is.

I'm wondering if for modern day Cap in Avengers, they'll change the straps on the back to solid metal handles?

They just come off as rather low tech; which is understandable back in WWII. But in the 21st century.....metal handles just look for feasible in battle situations.

They are leather straps in the comic as well, right? At least, that's what I remember.

I hope they don't. The straps look ajustable, so Cap can wear the shield all backpack like if he wanted to. I wonder if they have multiple shields with the straps pre sized to wear. Plus I think the wieght of the unwaivering solid metal handles would throw off the shields fictional physics when thrown as opposed to the lighter, stowable leather.

These straps also would lend itself to being more shock absorbing for the ole forearm. Could you imagine how uncomfortable metal handles would be. No thanks

The leather straps look perfect, just like his shield has in the comics. It also seems more practical for the way it will be used.

the straps look comfortable. just imagine cap cutting himself on metal straps when taking a hit. the straps are the best part of the shield so far. i still don't like the silver. red blue and silver just seems like it will get a paint job so im not too worried.

I didn't notice the shield had silver instead of white the first time I saw it. So from a stand point of whether I like the look of the shield or not, the silver really does not bother me. However, I do take issue with the silver being used in a manner that would seem like they are purposefully being unpatriotic. So, hopefully they will correct it.

I like it. Good aesthetic choice incorporating the shields indistructable metal as the 'white'. I don't feel it's being disrespectful, myself, and I'd doubt they'd go out of their way to disrespect the American audience in such a subtle manner. Gives the shield a harder look.

Well like I said initially I didn't notice it before someone mentioned it. I just don't want people to say, so this is Captain America and he doesn't even know what our national colors are, what a joke. My other concern is we are seeing the silver with no white next to it, but when he is holding the shield and there is white in his costume next to the silver it might be more noticeable.

Meh, it'll pass as white. The white on his uniform will probably have dirt and grime on it anyway, so it'll be darker. Besides, the shield will be government issue, it's not like he constructed the thing himself.

All good points, but ultimately I just want it to go over well with the general public. To me I am satisfied.

The shield will look Red WHITE and Blue because the silver will catch the light and create huge white highlights, while the silver will give it that metalic/sturdy look that most of the plastic shields we've seen on film in the past, just don't have. I REALLY like the shield and the look (especially the detail in the back)

I wonder what it will sound like when it gets thrown or hits things. This will help sell its indistructability .

Man. I remember why I don't read the hype as much now. The fanboy *****ing about the silver, the segmented parts... absolutely ridiculous.

Shield looks fantastic.

Good question. Personally, I would think that sharpening the impact sounds, would help to create the idea of a very solid, hard and uneffected shield. However, I think it should be the opposite for when he is the throwing the shield. It should be very quiet so it seems like less vibration and almost like it is cutting through the air without restriction. Hey, but I am not an expert on the art of sound FX, so I could be totally off and probably I am.

The shield looks perfect to me. I like that they didn't paint it, the anodized surface looks much better and I can't imagine anyone getting offended because the bits are shiny metallic and not white. I just think at that point you're looking for something to complain about.

I think the inside reminds me of the inside of a shield with straps on it. Go figure
