They need to resurrect the Power Pack and have some of Franklin's powers start reactivating so he can join them.

HAHAAAAA no. :oldrazz::woot: He's damn close though. If we're going by earth based heroes then it's either Hulk or Ghost Rider. Their strength has no limits. As long as those two have the willpower there's nothing they're too weak for.

 Though Silver Surfer tops them both.

Ghost Rider is not a person. He is a force of nature similar to death. You can't kill him, you can't stop him, you can only slow him down. Johnny Blaze can be harmed and he can be separated from the Ghost Rider but the Ghost Rider itself, once fully unleashed and isn't holding back has boundless strength.

Same for Hulk, really. Get him angry and he gets stronger. There's no "150 tons is all he can lift" stipulation like there is for guys like Iron Man, Namor, and Hercules.

So technically, if Ghost Rider wanted to (with his boundless power) lift just as much as the Hulk? I mean we can speculate all we want, but he hasn't been seen to lift anything heavier than a few tons.

I don't think any writer would ever try to portray that, or even try to show he has that much strength.

I personally dont really think Herc has a set limit at all either. I mean he's moved got some seriously impressive feats. For example he's moved the island of Manhattan twice. He's held up the sky in Atlas' stead. He's always seemed to just barely edge out Thor in strength and Thor usually stays pretty even with The Hulk in terms of strength even though Hulk's strength changes mid fight.

I think Herc and Thor are more examples of characters who can always just be as strong as they need to be so long as they dig deep enough into their well of willpower. They're potential for strength increase just isnt as easilly accessed as the Hulk's is.

Also, regarding the "ghost rider is a force of nature like death" thing. He's the avatar of Vengeance. Vengeance and death arent comparable at all. One is an absolute, the other is entirely subjective. Vengeance is not a force of nature it's a goal that only sentient living beings posess.

It's like being the avatar of Greed or Selfishness. It's not a force of nature.

To put it simply, 'the madder Hulk get's, the stronger Hulk get's'.

Or to quote the big guy himself;

''Hulk is strongest one there is''.......................

Good points but in my eyes that still makes him some kind of force made tangible. As long as there is someone to be avenged there is a job to be done and nothing gets in his way. To me that makes him less of a person and more of a force. People at least have weaknesses of some sort.

Pretty much. Ghost Rider is more comparable to a cosmic character anyway. I can really see him going toe to toe with guys like The Silver Surfer if he had to...In fact, considering he's the Spirit of Vengeance, I'm surprised I haven't heard of such a battle already. I gotta go look this up.

I dunno. To me Vengeance is such an abstract subjective thing. Like you dont have to kill or beat someone to get revenge on them. you could plant drugs in their car and put in an anonymous tip to the police or something. (take that stupid neighbors and their noisy dogs!)

In any case it just doesnt seem to me like he's all that Powerful. I read the WWH tie in and i've read all of his current Title so far and nothing I've seen indicates he's anything more than a powerful demon(or angel)-powered vigilante.

Like if you put GR in a fight against all the characters in the MU, for my money he'd probably be beaten as often or more than he won. Any top tier threat (Hulk, Herc, Thor, SS, Black Bolt, Sentry, Strange etc) could probably take him.

That's a damn fine premise. It would seem logical, what with Surfer causing the deaths of countless 'innocents' when he was Galactus' herald.

The awesome spectical of such an encounter would be mouth watering.

That's the thing. It's one thing to destroy someone (a speeding truck would crush him for example) but unless you prevent him from doing his job somehow he's like the T-1000. He just pulls himself back together and comes back.

Ghost Rider is bound by Johnny Blaze as much as Hulk is bound by Bruce Banner. It was said in that WWH tie-in, actually. Both are extraordinarily powerful when working alone or at least in conjunction with their hosts. I think if the guys at Marvel were to fight him he'd feel like an annoyance because as much as as they smash him to bits he'd probably keep coming back and make a B-line for whatever mission he has at the moment...Probably getting annoyed during the process and incapacitating everyone that got in his way.

Strength is not GR's main power so you don't see him exhibit that often. In fact it's rare that he's even in a situation that requires it. Normally it's "show up, take this guy out, ride off." Have you ever seen him exert himself, though? Like has he shown any effort when accomplishing tasks, no matter how massive? I mean the guy just wraps his chain around the front of a plane and plucks it off like it was made of cheese. I don't think Ghost Rider can even strain himself. He just...does things...Which some think makes him a boring character but for me Johnny Blaze is what makes the book interesting anyway.

Oh yeah. I think he's encountered Galactus before but a fist fight with the Silver Surfer would be tops. Board vs. Cycle.

If it's found to be the case that they havent tussled, just how have Marvel somehow managed not to have a GR/SS fight?

Even the smallest of skirmishes.

At least once......

Yeah, I'm finding nothing on GR running into these two. Wow. There's a buck to be made there. I mean when those two show up on earth a siren must go off in GR's head. That's billions of souls to be avenged. You'd think he'd drop everything he's doing and be there ASAP.

Ghost Rider is great but he's way out of his league when dealing with Galactus, Silver Surfer, or Thor.

Here's what Thor thinks of GR.

I love the Ghost Rider too, but you guys are giving him way too much power.

:thing: :doom: :thing:

...Well, what happened after? You left me on a cliffhanger. :p

And I'm just going by what Marvel's giving me. I guess they've been inconsistent with the character since someone mentioned he used to lift about 5 tons and that was his limit but nowadays they're trying to bring him up there with the big guys (where he should be, imo).

EDIT: Hey, why doesn't hellfire hurt Thor? Doesn't it hurt...everybody? Isn't that the point? Marvel really can't decide whether this guy's all powerful or just a second stringer. Didn't he get taken down by the Avengers too? Makes no sense.

Hellfire is like the Penance Stare, I thought. It sears the soul of evildoers or something. Thor's pretty purehearted.

Personally, I think GR's just gotten more powerful without any limit over the years because he's arguably the biggest character on Marvel's supernatural/horror side. Same way Wolverine's healing factor went from knitting up major injuries in a matter of hours or even days to regenerating whole body parts in minutes or even seconds because he's the most popular character Marvel has overall.

Yeah, that's right. Hmm. I can't help but wonder how a fist fight would go. I honestly never see Ghost Rider punch things. It's always the chain or hellfire.
