In fairness to him, his work on the original New Mutants series was solid, pretty amazing to be honest.

Sometimes decisions for artist/inker pairings are made and they could work out beautifully or they could be a train wreck.....in this case it was the latter.

So...who wants to make guesses as to who lives and who dies in Goblin Nation?

Anna Maria seems like a safe bet but what about Liz Allan and Angelina Brancale? Angie is pretty much defenseless on Spider-Island as the Goblins attack it and she isn't Otto's lover anymore, so he may disregard her.

Liz's death would be a shocker as she has been around since the beginning. It also gives Normie another reason to hate Spider-Man. Perhaps Spidey gets attacked by the new Spider-Slayers and decides to put an end to their creator just as he put an end to Alistaire Smythe.

I don't think Liz is going anywhere. She may be an important supporting character in the upcoming SM 2099 series.

I think Anna Maria is good as gone. I'm concerned about Carlie's chances. I never really considered Stunner before...possibly. If Ock dies again, she may be worth keeping around though for a follow up story. I'm curious how and if Harry Osborn factors into all this.

on the cover of the upcoming issue the chess board clearly shows Anna as the toppled queen. So I don't think she's going to last. It's unfortunate that she never learned that Ock is peter and that peter is Spider-Man. I have loved her character. She's so spunky.

I don't think it matters or changes things if she knew the truth or not. It's been mentioned before but I think her best role served is as Ock's "Gwen". Her death could be what drives him for vengeance for a long time to come.

Maybe....but why rob yourself of potential subplots involving corporate takeover drama when you're trying to launch a new title...? At least that's the way I see it.

I was hoping Anna Maria would make it. I'd like to see Peter deal with the consequences of SpOck's romance. Not a soap opera plot, mind you, but I think it would be interesting.

Carlie seems like a distinct possibility.

Spider-Man always seemed to be like Star Trek in that bad things happened to him but there was ALWAYS HOPE for a promising future. By taking away nearly everyone and everything, they have killed ALL of that hope... The book just becomes too depressing. Harry coming back was supposed to be a change in that, but they went and killed that almost right away. he's rarely even in the book anymore... So what was the point of bringing him back?

Also, has Normie and Harry been seen together at all since Harry's return, I can't seem to recall it happening.

Harry was a pretty major part of the book for a long while after he came back. He only went away right as Big Time started. I think this Goblin War is going to bring him back out of hiding.
