BvS The Superman suit Thread - Part 1

Yeah I love the piping on the sides. Don't know why some people would hate it.

I think it adds to the suit. The piping on his back is neat too. I actually think it looks pretty good even without the cape. I wouldn't mind if supes was capeless for a bit.

You know, as much as I love the cape in all its majestic glory, I felt like it got in the way at times. If you know what I mean... *winknudgewink*

The piping on the side gives it personality IMO. It sells the idea that it's an ethereal garment and not something from Earth.

The MoS suit is nothing short of amazing. It's the best Superman suit I have ever seen. There's not much more you can do to make it look even better.

doing little digging on this sunday. Frontline Design, Inc. were the ones who did the suits for Man of Steel. But they have some good photos of the suits. Including the chrome muscle suit.

The piping on the top half of the suit looks great but the bottom half fails IMO, I hate the look around the back of the knees.

Somewhere in space and time there exists a universe where this strange endeavour came to fruition. I get the feeling it would have been like David Lynch's Dune meets Schumacher's Batman Forever.

Is anyone else wondering how the he puts on the suit? I've always wondered if it's like the nano tech and forms around the body of if it's just a normal suit. Would be cool to see.

See, here's what I don't like.

Alone, the suit's proportions look fine. And on his own, Cavill's proportions look fine. But when he's in the suit, it often has a very bloated look. And I worry it's because they went too heavy on the muscle padding, not taking in consideration how much Cavill would increase the size once in suit.

The muscle padding is actually crafted based on Cavill's size and muscles, so when he's in it...... his size is doubling. And that's not good. The muscle padding should only be accentuating his muscle definition and relative size he already has.

Hopefully they took notice of all that and made adjustments. And considering that Frontline didn't do the suits this time around, there's a decent chance.

I hope for brighter colors, or that they would just use brighter filters when shooting the film. I like the actual suit design and cape.

I know some people don't like the piping/designs on the side, but I do.

I really hope they don't change this suit much. It make me nervous thinking they're messing with it.

I really don't care for the pipings. so if they dropped that aspect of the design, I wouldn't shed a tear.

I didn't find it to look bloated at all. If you look at the pictures of the blue portion of the suit, it's almost paper thin. The only thing I tend to notice about muscle suits are the shoulders. They always tend to poke out a little strangely.

I actually think Reeves looks great with that suit!! Even though I grew up with the Reeves' Superman, Cavill is my ideal Superman.

Reeve can pull of any of the suit's.

they both pull off either suit, I think! I might prefer Cavill in Reeve's and Reeve in Cavill's, ironically. I think that pic of Cavill is fantastic - I thought his skin was too pale and hair too greasy in MoS, but in shots where those problems aren't apparent (ie. every shot of Cavill I've ever seen that ISN'T from MoS, ironically), he's the only other guy besides Reeve who makes me believe that he IS Superman.

That will NEVERhappen. Snyder already went through hundreds of designs that had trunks but didn't work.

When Zack Snyder commented on the lack of trunks, he did say that the trunks didn't work.

HOWEVER, when he said that, it was in direct reference to the trunks not working with the alien origin they had in mind for the suit in MOS.

The thought process was that the trunks, inspired by the circus strongmen of the 20s and 30s, was a very earthly convention, and didn't work with the idea that the suit in the first film was created by Kryptonian technology. This, being compounded by the fact that all Kryptonians wore this undersuit.

So yeah, that's why it wasn't used. But now that they aren't limited by that, there's no reason they can't add them.
