What is the KC shield?
It's been a long day and I can't think right now.

This place has gone crazy. Nicholas Cage would've been a good Superman?! That Burton sculpted plastic Batman suit is a good Superman suit?! Sometimes I don't know if I'm just an unconventional Superman fan or if this forum just attracts crazy fringe opinions.

Rubber-Plastic Superman suit was also going to be used for McG's Superman FlyBy, both Brandon Routh and Henry Cavill gave screen-tests for that movie in that suit.

And fortunately they didn't use those for the actual films.

It looks like there are three different suits there actually. The Routh one look like it has more natural looking musculature, Cavill's looks a bit like armor or something, and ths one in yhe middle has those seams in it.

That's right, those are three different suits, the one in the middle is this -

Ironically, the suit Routh actually had to wear in Superman Returns was far worse than that plastic shiny thing above.

True, Louise Mingenbach designed the worst costume for him !

The S was just too small and they used a horrible shade of red.

Back to BvS.. I like the new "S" more than the MoS "S"

Same here, I really dig the kryptonian writting in the middle and the change to gold instead of the piss yellow.

It is triumphantly bad, particularly as, objectively, it is so plain. The designer must have carefully tweaked each of its elements until they were at their most ridiculous.

i applaud their desire to stay traditional, but the tweaks they made to it made it a very unsuccessful design

The Flyby "armor" looks better than the SR suit any day of the week. And that shine is glorious, I love a shiny Superman. It's actually what I liked the most about the MOS suit in certain shots, it beats the more rubbery look it acquired in most of the actual film, imo.

i honestly think a lot of the design concepts of Fly By are found subtly in Man of Steel

The Death of Superman Lives already did this for that movie's suits; we really need to see (more and) full shots of both Flyby's suits as well as what the suit was going to be in JLM (beyond the storyboards). Like the true SL suits, I really dig the Flyby suits.

What would have the Superman cinamatic world have been at this point if Cavill would have gotten the role all those years ago? I wonder...

Probably an intriguing but brief interlude. Cavill got the role at the right time.
