This is a continuation thread, the old thread is [split]382357[/split]
Raggy, we're saying the same thing, don't worry!
That does not make for repeat viewing.
I know, Elsewhere didn't give me a post worth enough to quote to make my point.
i don't know if you know this but Kids are not the target audience for this film and kids often aren't the audience for repeat viewings.
Parents taking kids to see TDKR are not a high portion of the audience going to see TDKR.
It's people like you and I who will see it 1,2,3,4,5,6,8 times...in the first day.

I'll concede that Qui-Gon probably could be considered the main hero, but I don't think it's all that clean cut. Obi-Wan and Anakin both had a share of heroic moments too. The prequels give me a headache.
That is like saying Han or Leia are the main hero of SW, ESB or ROTJ.

I think that is wrong way to look at it. It isn't about seeing it 4 times on opening day. It is little Jimmy asking to go again a week or even two later with his brother, sisters and friends. Then mom or dad or even both take him and guess what. You just sold the equivalent of one of us crazies multiple viewings. Twice over.
So you don't agree Qui-Gon is the main hero of TPM? Go on.
Another way to passively insult the prequels.
We were talking about TPM not the prequels, go back to the last incarnation of this thread and read it.
Qui-Gon is the hero of TPM. There is no consideration, there's no argument. This is a fact. Obi-Wan and Anakin were bystanders in TPM while Qui-Gon acted.
In no way are you in any fashion correct on this issue.
I'm starting to think the prequels give you headaches because maybe you aren't understanding them.
This doesn't happen very often aside from Kid's films. TDKR is going to be a drama film. Kids aren't going to want to see it over and over, they were never intended to want to see it over and over, hence why it has a PG-13 rating and not PG.
The "loss" of these multiple viewings by kids is non-existent. They weren't going to want to see it over and over because it's not intended for them and furthermore Batman dying is not going to keep people from seeing it again as long as it's done with action and adventure.
Kiddos.... did anyone watch the Harry S. Plinkett review of Episode I ?
There is no discernible MAIN character!

You don't get to a billion without kids and families. This isn't even really a debate. People are projecting this film to do crazy business. You need Batman to be air conditioning/babysitter for those kind of numbers.
