I don't know about that.

Pretty sure some people actually liked the movie and went more than once. I think kids liked it a whole bunch so that made for repeated viewings where the parents had to go whether they liked it or not.

The 3D certainly helped...But the combo of Burton/Alice just seemed too cool to ignore.

The movie was simply not very good though...

I thought it was pretty good. Better than some give it credit for.

To each his own.

I didn't realize that DS had a huge following. I never watched the show but Eva Green and Michelle Pfeiffer might make me see it.

I'd never even heard about Dark Shadows until Burton decided to adapt it.

I hated it purely because, i hold the source material close to my heart very fondly, and considering when Tim Burton is on form he can create the craziest stuff with heart, Alice in wonderland would seem like the perfect opportunity for him to showcase some really beautiful stuff while keeping the acid trip feeling of the disney film. Instead he made another 3d standard adventure...with a blown up role for Johnny Depp to overact in.

Johnny Depp plus Vampires SHOULD equal tons of tween money, but the old dark shadows show was very good and i enjoy the concept...so heres hoping Tim isn't on corporate autopilot for this one.

Only reason that I care about the MTV poll is because I'm sick of teen girls deciding what becomes "the hottest movie of the year" and MTV is something that pushes Twilight et al to become "the hottest movie of the year" when really they don't make that big of a splash at all compared to other movies.

If it were any other site, I wouldn't care.

Is it like the Adams Family? It looks like it. I think the vampire crazy crowd who are expecting Twilight/True Blood are going to be disappointed.

Burton seems incapable of coming off of corporate Auto-pilot these days.

Honestly, if WB wants to, they can get that same crowd to go crazy with their Bane/Batman or Blake/Bane ships and their "Team Selina vs Team Talia" fights. I would rather not though. I'm sure Nolan would cringe at the thought of that kind of marketing. :funny:

I was like " ok this isn't really super bad like Charlie/factory " then the ******ed dance scene kicked in and I literally got up out of my chair clapped my hands and yelled " I am outta here! Done! " and walked out of and made my bro turn it off

Ugh...The dance scene...Why did you have to reopen that cinematic wound...

Please no.

I want burton to snap out of it, realise his age, and stop making predictable burtonesque visuals with the same old danny elfman bs, and start getting back to his ed wood/ big fish mode. You know actual stories! He is very good at that stuff that's what makes me angry. It's like he's a self parody.

Sweeney Todd was good. Of course, that was five years ago.

I watched DARK SHADOWS on it's original run in the 60's and 70's. Still watch several movies made from episodes around Halloween each year. There was an attempted TV series remake in the 90's or early 2000's. It will be interesting to see what Burton does with it.

I'm definitely looking forward to see what he does with it

see my mom did too she simply put it as her " twilight "

she's not a fan of a young handsome barnabus and said he's supposed to be older

Is it just me or is anyone else sick of Johnny Depp, he is a good actor, but it feels like he is in absolutely everything. Dude needs to chill and come back to a role that really wows us, and Burton needs to use other actors too.

Yeah. I've been tired of hhim for a while. Great actor but he's been Johnny one note lately.

He did try though with stuff like Public Enemies and Rum Diary. It just didn't click with the audience.
