BvS The Unabashed SPOILER Thread. ENTER AT OWN RISK. - Part 1

Snyder tends to think a lot of things in visuals. Guy draws his own storyboard even. He's a visually talented director, makes great scenes - and it's obvious his focus is on aesthetic and cinematography rather than story flows/construction. He needs a tight script - many shares that same conclusion.

Then again a lot could be missing in a plot summary and goes better in the execution, so I'll judge for myself when I get to watch BvS. For now I'll put my skeptic glasses on.

It might actually blow me away, I certainly hope so.

Well, film is a visual medium. And he's a direct that likes to tell the story and the subtext of his films, VISUALLY.

It bothers me when dialogue has become the end all to be all for some people to think that a film is good or has deep meaning. The same can be accomplished visually, if done correctly.

I do find it weird that Bats reacts so strongly to the name Martha though....he shouldn't be triggered so easily at this point in his life/career.

But Martha is the name of his dead mother...
You know, Bat brood and dead parents. :loco:

Not to me honestly, IF this guy is for real. If there really is characterization problems with the film, critics are definitely gonna chew into that.

His reasoning for his problems with the characterization fail to add up to me, though.

He thinks Batman is portrayed as a killing machine, and this person wanted more reasoning on why Batman feels such hated towards Superman. ...Yet he then says the Black Zero sequence and his scenes with Alfred express his agenda and why he is against Superman.

I dunno. I fail to believe the characters in the film don't have believable arcs. He also made it sound like he thought Terrio did a weak job, citing some dialogue examples. The dialogue examples sounded fine to me.

I'm just glad someone who allegedly saw the film liked it after expressing that they thought it looked "outright bad" beforehand.

Gal's blue dress, btw

LOL NO FING WAY IS THIS TRUE. There is no way Affleck or Terrio would let this:

"The other is what I thought to be the biggest tonal shift of the movie. Bruce is sitting in the Batcave and a freaking portal opens up from another dimension. The Flash, in sort of an armored costume, yells something akin to 'You were right! You have to find us, Bruce!' and then the portal closes. Bruce Wayne is super weirded out, and then the movie just continues as if it never happened."

i agree. its one reason i enjoy snyder, and for that matter, george lucas' prequels.

I definitely agree. Not saying the dialogue has to be the make-or-break point, tho. A script is more than just series of dialogues, trust me, bruv, I write them to make a living.

Take a look at Drive, it has minimum dialogue but the visuals' impact is very obvious. Has Snyder managed to accomplish that kind of storytelling imo? Not yet.

Here's another problem. He claims that the courthouse blows up as soon as Supes takes the stand. Well in the trailer there's dislouge from Finch after he's on the stand. Also Scoot has a cane and his wheelchair isn't in sight. Why would he carry a cane if he has a wheelchair

He actually is in some kind of wheelchair:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tM5BXBt-JIg

However, you are right they wont make a big deal about being summoned to DC only for the bomb to go off right away. There has to be some long dialogue and discussion about him being only allowed to act in the name of the government or blah blah blah

Scoot is sitting in his wheelchair during the hearing. He isn't using a cane. How could a man with no legs use a cane?

I too have trouble believing Supes doesn't get a chance to speak at the hearing. Wasted opportunity if true.

Whoa... Faracci has changed mindset. He's heard great things evidently: https://***********/devincf/status/711286177450500097

Sorry the handle looks like a cane handle. Still why is Batman on the tower while the pod is electrifying just to shoot a tracker on a truck. Doesn't make any sense
