Man, some of the fanboys here are unreal. Been lurking in this thread/forum for quite a long time after a posting hiatus and Jesus, some of this is nuts. This isn't some sort of DC Studios people, it's Warner Bros. They are clearly going to (and seemingly have always meant to) do their own thing and just cherry pick what they wish to use and what they wish to leave out.
I'll admit it, I'm a Batman fan. Never been that big on Supes. Honestly, didn't even like the Reeve movies. However, being more of a Batman fan, I was sold on the character via Man Of Steel. I enjoyed that movie. They made the character of Superman, for whatever reason, click with me. Maybe it's because I hate people who act like boy scouts, maybe it's because I consider myself a brooding man who see's the world as a general threat full of idiots than a place of hopeful optimism. Who knows? But the point is, I enjoyed MOS.
Going into this flick and not having seen it yet, I like the fact they're seemingly going with the Arkham-styled Batman. It's by far the most famous Batman of the past few years now so why not? And about our resident middle-American alien, I look forward to seeing how they pull off everything I've read. Nothing bothers me in the least because at the end of the day, it is a movie.
If I disagree with what's on screen, I have comics I can go read, I have animated films I can watch, I have the DCAU on DVD that will arguably always be better than anything they ever put out in the form of movies.
Just remember every saga has arguably disappointing films. Hell, even Marvel has had quite a few. Judge how they've treated them once we've seen a more fleshed out package..... Given their slate at this current moment, if compared to a movie, we're about at the 20 minute mark of a 2 and a half hour flick. At least wait until the half way point to make a sound judgment.
