I know....I sometimes cry at night because of the shame

quick story....wanna know how Aquaman lost his hand?? he and Kyle got drunk one night....Kyle woke up with a sore butt and Aquaman was missing his hand

work it out

http://www.midtowncomics.com/

I was checking the shirts this shops have and theres some really awesome Batman shirts. They all have this at the store, right? I know this is kinda dumb question but i just wanna make extra sure because i sure as hell wanna buy some of those sweet shirts while i'm in NY.

Sometimes they'll be out of or not have certain shirts in stock in both stores. Typically, they'll have Batman, Superman, and Spider-Man shirts, but any other character is a toss up. I'd say the best bet is to check both stores before giving up though. They're not that far from each other either, just a fifteen minute walk.

Also, since when does Kyle have ass-piranhas?

I never liked that....piranhas ate his hand....just seems meh....I much prefer the magic water hand though

Radical

But seriously, I don't understand why this is an issue worth defending for you. When it came up before you were like the only one who seemed to defend using Bane as brutish, drooling idiot, and for awhile at that. I mean Spike brings up a good point. Bane has a lot of potential as a character.

I mean would you not cry some foul if they took Hal Jordan and had him grow his hair out, gave me a meterosexual makeover, have him come out of the closet, become a sensitive, rational person and do more than 'I is punch you', 'I has willpower!' 'WWWWWIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRR!'

Oh s***, Hela/Pluto fight over Odin's soul! :wow:

Is it weird that I read Marvel's Pluto with James Woods' voice like Disney's Hades? Woods' voice does straight archvillainy surprisingly as well as comedy villainy.

I wasn't defending the characterization of Bane, I was pointing out how some fans will always find some character who, in their opinion, is mischaracterized (not a proper word I know) or underused and need to ***** and moan when said character either a)isn't that important or b)is known primarily for ONE thing....in Banes case breaking Batmans spine....if he bored Batman into a coma by reading Longfellow, then I would see your point but that isn't the case here....

Hal Jordan is completely rational....that's why he punches people in the face

I like my characters to be larger than life...that's why I favor Hal, not to mention he's the GL i grew up with (from 8 years old as GL was the first comic I seriously started reading)....I knew many Kyle Rayners in college and there's nothing special about them IMO

It's when you say **** like this that it makes me realize just how pointless actually talking to you about stuff can be sometimes

No, that's who I always hear as Hades/Pluto, and he was Lucifier until I read Sandman:o

do you not prefer Longfellow?? how about Frost?? Chaucer?? John Milton?? Bane seems like a fan of Paradise Lost to me

"I've come for your father, thunder god. And lest your strength has increased a thousandfold, I suggest you stand aside. I give my warning but once, godling. After that--Pluto ATTACKS!"

Imagine that in Woods' voice. It gives me shivers down my spine. :awesome:

I can totally imagine that, but not only that, but as James Wood the actor, too

Good God. I am absolutely blown away by the quality of the the Music Meister episode of B&tB. Not only was NPH fantastic, as expected, but Black Canary blew me away as well. The songs were great and catchy. My only gripe is lack of Batman singing, but I doubt anything will top Kevin Conroy singing in JLU.

I'm really trying to be a bit more open-minded about this whole Bane thing...but all I'm reading here is "waa waa waa...they got Bane wrong....waa waa waa"

it's like when Corp *****es and moans about Aquaman or Kyle Rayner...those guys are a bit more important than Bane and a good chunk of comic fans could give a ****
"Waa waa waa... I'm made of suck and wouldn't know a good character if one came up and characterized himself in my face, and anyone who raises criticisms on bad characterizations are just whiny b**ches... waa waa waa"

See, I have no problem with different opinions than my own, but when 90% of what you do is argue for the sake of arguing and trying to get a rise out of people with your sucky tastes, it's hard not to think of you as simply the new GAH around here.

It really is pointless, isn't it?
I like the overly emphasized accent. I read Bane in the comics with that voice to this very day. :awesome:
In and of itself, it wasn't bad to tell the actor to do the voice that way. It's just that the accent, combined with the other elements in that episode that the writers were using to really drive the point home that he was inspired by Mexican wrestlers (the changes to his mask, Batman using wrestling moves and bouncing off of metal bars as if they were ropes in a ring), it was all a bit much for me. I loved his voice in The New Batman Adventures. Same actor and all, just scaled back on the accent.[YT]13H_4XOFn28[/YT]I can see Bane maybe losing some of his accent as he taught himself other languages and began speaking English primarily.

So, I was sitting in my history class and I realized something:
Marvel's Civil War is totally the Bhagavad Gita.

Infinite Crisis is ok....it's not spectacular or anything, but you get some background on Power Girl and the superdouchetacular debut of Superboy Prime

No man the event just flat out is not needed and poorly written, it is a horribley plotted excuse to have Geoff Johns live out his fantasy. Just it isnt needed like AT ALL. Of all of Johns work it is the LEAST orderly and logical. Did we really need that contrived origin for Powergirl or the introduction of Superboy prime who has done nothing but ***** since he came back? His one big thing, killing Connor [FTW] has been over turned and now he is just a villian that gets sent to another universe or something every now and then.

I loved Infinite Crisis. It really needs to be read as an event and all that it entails, instead of just the Johns-penned series...which I actually liked anyway.

same here...my favorite was the opening song and "deathtrap"

Yeah, I caught that today, too. I was thoroughly impressed. And I'm glad that I'm not the only one.

That sir is full of WIN! :D

How the hell did somebody produce that already?

@Spike:
While I agree his toned down accent is better, his Mexican wrestling backstory isn't such a bad idea. While we are all 20somethings who enjoy TAS, the shows target demographic was little kids. You can't exactly show a Guatemalan prison camp on Saturday morning cartoons. After all, look what happened to Darth and how ****ed uo he turned out.
Anyway, I would much prefer Bane in a Mexican wrestler inspired mask that the leather fetish catastrophe he is wearing there.
