Was there anything that happened major in the first 25 minutes of the show that I missed, that it is worth going to buy it on Amazon to watch? Or just wait til the next episode?

On Dish over here.

Agreed, but Jeff DeMunn has collaborated with Darabont on just about everything he has done, and when Darabont left the show, DeMunn did too in protest, they filmed his death scene, and then he realized his mistake and asked to reshoot the scene, but it was too late. Which is really disappointing considering how great Dale was in the show.

yeah, I liked Dale, too... love how he stood up to Shane's bullsheet and always had his number... I miss Dale...

and I don't miss Shane in the LEAST, the conniving little bastard...

and now Herschel may be on the way out?... damns...

Dale and Herschel... the two voices of reason on the show... one gone and one MAY be going...

they're BOTH gonna be sorely missed...

There's a lot of zombie kills in the first 25 mins, I'd say it's worth buying.

get DirecTV... it's way cheaper than when I had Dish and DTV carries AMC...

Well, I though it was a pretty great episode. Lots of walkers, lots of suspense.

you're right, I DO remember that, now that you mention it...

just really not the norm for a walker to play possum, nonetheless...

I got the sense that some just go inactive after a while.

Or maybe some Walkers are smarter than others? Their intelligence hasn't really been explored.

I've fallen way behind on TWD so today I'll catch up with the rest of season 2 and head into season 3. Season 3 looks pretty badass so far

anyone got a .gif of the walker in riot gear's face coming off?

5Rhia.gif

Whoa. [blackout]Poor Hershel, that scene where Rick cut his leg off was brutal.[/blackout]

I would think that maybe some walkers just lose steam so to speak. The energy to keep on moving has to dissipate at some point but they could still be active like they have just become dormant or are in a sort of hibernation. Until they smell something living close by

If they follow the book(lol) that cross could be anyone. This was a season preview not a next ep preview. I have a feeling Herschel may take on elements of dales story.

Dale btw was this shows best character and received one of the dumbest deaths thus far.

lol no.

I really liked last nights episode. Great start to the season.

Very good start to the season, imho. You can tell how hard the time since the farm ambush as been and what a toll it's taken on people. [BLACKOUT] Cutting off Herschel's leg was crazy, I didn't expect him to be the first casualty.[/BLACKOUT] and [BLACKOUT]The face-peel walker was fricking awesome![/BLACKOUT] Should be a good season.

Did Glenn lose his hat? If so, I'm out. :o

I still think it was stupid for them to cut off Hershel's leg. Going by past zombie film lore as well as common sense, whatever germ or virus you get from getting bit or scratched is already traveling through your blood stream...your instantly screwed.

Have you read the comics?

Worked in Day of the Dead. The Walking Dead is more inspired by Romero than anything.

Nope. Why? Do they come up with some explanation for that?

We don't know if it worked in Day of the Dead because we never had time to see if Miguel would have got sick over time and died. He killed himself not too long after.

Realistically , once you get bit, the disease or germ is already running through your blood stream at too fast of a rate to do anything about it.

I know this is a fictitious show but I felt it was a dumb move on their part. Now they have to lug Hershel around until he dies.

For those who didn't get to see it, they have the season premiere on AMCtv.com steaming.

And even without DISH!

lol exactly.

When they were exploring the prison in the comic, it was Dale who got bit and had to have his leg cut off. He survived and was pretty much ok, no infection.

It happened to Dale in the comics and he lived for a while after with a peg leg.
