I still find it surprising that after all this time there are still so many ambulatory walkers still around. I mean, shouldn't they be all falling apart or decaying too much?

I'm just assuming there are different "generations" of walkers that remain. I doubt the first waves of zombies are still functional, if that makes any sense.
