Drink yourself into a stupor while snorting coke off of hookers?

I'll compromise. I'll do that while blaming all you sorry ****s. That way I get to have my pity part while expanding my ego. Best of both worlds.

If it helps out, I request a reserve on Saint Walker. The only thing I got left, I think, is the sample post. I might have some inspiration now and sadly due to recent tragedies in Southwest corner of Missouri here in the USA.

If you want to play a different Blue Lantern, I can change my post.

I was planning on Walker joining Sinestro anyways. If you don't mind, can you save the picture you used for my app? Ideally the Saint Walker application will be up later today\tomorrow.

We don't have reserves, but I highly doubt anyone is going to seriously put up an application for Saint Walker.

Considering the state of the game, I agree with Byrd.

Also, working on a post now.

This current, and my previous Aquaman Arc did not go as I planned. They were supposed to be more on par with my earlier works that were big in the Aquamythos but they were still enjoyable here and there.

With the games at the pace they are in I'm going to outline a different route for my current arc so I can at least get a steady pace and end it. But I hope to change it in ways that makes me still proud of it. So hopefully that is reflected in my posts and if I can get my pace up like some of the previous times the games lagged maybe a constant flow can help pick up the pace.

I would join in on the EMP arc in Gotham, but having the world's mightiest mortal suddenly show up and take everyone out...makes for a short arc and a couple times I've posted to keep things moving in other RPGs only to be told to make edits and that my input isn't really needed for the overall arc.

Who are the major characters in Star City? I need both villians and heroes since that is where I have put Miri for now. Any help is appreciated.

Screen Name: sumowrestler

Character you would like to play (please include the color and font you plan on using to portray the character): Saint Walker Blue Bold

Powers and Brief Origin (provide at least two sentences) If you copy/paste this information from another website, link back to it, or it is considered plagiarism and is not allowed. : Saint Walker has the standard abilities and weaknesses of a Blue Lantern. Without a Green Lantern or other similar entities around, all a Blue Lantern can do is flying and generate the protective aura. At full power, a Blue Lantern can generate constructs most of the time reflection of the hopes of the one that is the target. A couple of others abilities is that a blue ring can calm down someone being affected by the red plasma\fire that a Red Lantern generates and to drain the energy of a yellow ring.

Bro’Dee Walker of Astonia was a minister of the church on his planet. He lead his family to a place where their messiah was supposed to be during the apocalypse. Everyone but him died and he reached the summit. To his disappointment, the only thing there was a reflective stone slab. Through Walker’s hope, he was selected as the first Blue Lantern by the ring that Sayd and Ganthet created after their banishment. Walker then was lead by the ring to Odym to be trained by the Guardians. He been serving them ever since as Blue Lantern of Sector 1.

Group your character is aligned with (if applicable): Blue Lantern Corps

Write two complete sentences using proper English grammar. One to explain what you plan to do with the character you've chosen. The other to explain why you've chosen this character. (i.e. What are your goals? Will you be doing anything different with the character than is usually seen?): The first thing is to join Sinestro with his searching of the killer. I haven’t seen Saint Walker explored much in the comics even though I’ve yet to pick up too many issues of him in the JLA.

Do you have an Instant Messenger? Which one, and what is your screen name?: [email protected]

If you know how to post pictures, please provide a picture of your character you wish to be used for the Character Roster (if you do not know how, or do not have a preference, please say so and a default picture shall be picked for you):

Please provide a small sample post with original content in the style that you plan to write your character in (must be at least 3 paragraphs long and contain at least one line of dialogue): During one of the patrols of Sector 1, Saint Walker discovers a Green Lantern in dire need of assistance.

“A Green Lantern is in need of assistance on planet below.”

“Take me down there, ring. Their Guardians may not appreciate our two Corps working together but Ganthet and Sayd made it clear that we must in order to keep this universe at peace.”

When Saint Walker approaches the location of the Green Lantern, he sees a green shield that is having troubles staying up around a city as it continuously gets bombarded by enemy fire. Saint Walker flies into a hole in the green dome.

“I can’t hold this much longer. The GLC better get or Boodika and I are both goners.”

Power Level 5%

Power Level 18%

Power Level 24%

Power Level 42%

“Ring, what is happening? I can’t charge while I’m trying to maintain this dome.”

“A Blue Lantern has entered the dome. Power level 83%”

Power Level 134%

Saint Walker lands next to the orange skin Green Lantern with a beak and fin on his head.

“I appreciate whatever you are doing, Blue Lantern but who are you?”

“The name is Saint Walker and my ring is charging your ring. You have hope for reinforcements from your fellow Green Lanterns. I saw your distress and figured I would help out.”

Power Level 181%

Power Level 200%

The green dome that was flickering and fading is now a bright, strong, solid green shining dome.

“Your ring should last you a while now, Green Lantern.”

“Thanks, I think. If you really want to help, either take care of the enemies that is pounding this shield or see what you can do for my partner over there. They hit her pretty hard and I haven’t had time to see what is wrong.”

Saint Walker walks over to where the other Green Lantern lays. She is a muscular woman with a purple body and black hair. Saint Walker looks over her body with his ring.

“You are indeed a strong spirited woman. You hope that your mission is a success and that you will last long enough to see it through. I’ll make sure that you will see this mission through.”

A blue glow animates from his ring hand and flows over the body. After a couple of minutes, the woman opens her eyes and very slowly gets up.

“Who are you? What did you do to me? Get away from me.”

“I am Saint Walker of the Blue Lantern Corps. I was the one who healed you. Both you and your partner have great hope inside. It was that hope that allowed me to heal you. I mean you no harm but the opposite.”

Boodika looks down at herself and has her ring analyze her body.

“Your body is fully repaired and functionally at normal capacity. Ring capacity is at 200%”

“Were you sent here by our Corps or yours?”

“I was on patrol and was notified by my ring that you and your partner were in danger. I decided to see what I could do.”

“I appreciate what you done but now I need to get back to work which may be a bit too messy for you. These enemies have weapons from Apokalypse and I fully intend of making sure they don’t use them on anyone else.”

“I’ll assist in the eliminations of these weapons. They are trying to dash the hopes of the people in this town and you Green Lanterns have given them hope that they will survive. I’ll gladly help to increase their hope in you.”

Boodika and Saint Walker flies up and out of the dome that Tomar-Re is keeping up. Boodika creates a large warrior who stands behind the enemy tanks and warriors. It starts slashing its sword at the tanks and scattering the troops on half the city. Saint Walker takes a few moments to scan the minds of the citizens to see what they put their hope in. To his surprise, the creature is of some lizard. Walker creates this lizard on the other side with it swiping at the soldiers and the tanks. Between Boodika and Walker’s constructs, the invading army gives up. Tomar-Re drops his shield and assists Boodika in apprehending what weapons that survived the constructs. Once Saint Walker saw the job was done and hope restored, he waved bye to his new friends and flies back towards Odym.

Saint Walker is Approved

Just so you know, Walker helped out during Darkseidiest Night, and worked with Wildcat and Tomar and some of the other colors.

Thanks for the reminder, wiegeabo. Now if someone has something for me in Star City even if it is a link to a Wiki about it.

I know that ending the RPG has been a struggle in itself but we originally talked about how we would then reboot the RPG to be completely aligned with the present-day DC Comics stuff...but it now looks like that the DCU in the comics is going to be fully reboot back to the beginning of the superhero's careers...

So what now? This would then just make the DC RPG like UDC because nothing would be established say for the origins of some characters.

I think it'd be wiser to do it Post-BD/Pre-Flashpoint. Established heroes and sidekicks and enemies and the like without limiting the experience, because who the hell really knows how extensive this September business is going to be. Honestly, I'm worried that they're going overboard, so maybe this RPG taking place in a pre-changed world could actually be a benefit for it's potential success. People like me, regular readers who were fine with the status quo, get to play out with matured characters rather than younger counterparts designed to attract new readers. Yet people who aren't also get to take things off of that specific point and venture out on their own pattern.

The thing is the biggest reason we were finally greenlighting the RPG reboot idea for this game was for potential new comic fans to easier transition into the game. If we set it post-BN or post-BD/pre-Flashpoint while the new DCU is being born and what not...how does that not **** up the reason we decided to reboot the game?

That was moreso speaking for player created continuity, not comic book continuity. Nearly ten seasons' worth of continuity created by players, the reboot was designed to wipe that out and restart within the established DC Universe. The only reason to align it with the current timeline was to make it less confusing - IE, making it another Post-Infinite Crisis game when Infinite Crisis had ended years ago. The pre-Flashpoint time is still incredibly recently established, even still being published currently as we speak. People are gonna know what that entails unless they only start reading DC because of the revamp - which I sincerely doubt, unless it's a Marvel guy or something looking to venture over.

I would hold off on any decision until we know for sure what is goign on in Sept for DC. I'm still thinking that this Flashpoint is DC's version of Age of Apoklypse that Marvel did back in the 90s. Not much changed afterwards with only a few characters being carried over. I could be totally wrong though.

We said post Brightest Day and I'm sticking by it for now, if and when we finally reboot.

I think it goes without saying, seeing how long it's been since I've posted and that I've been removed from the roster, but I'm going to have to drop Hal Jordan. I wrote myself into a corner with him on my solo arc, and I haven't been able to keep up enough to find a good entry point for a group arc. With all my other writing commitments right now, I just wasn't able to commit. I suck, and I apologise.

I think it might be best if I just sit the game out until the reboot, then see if I want to jump back in. Speaking of the reboot, some thoughts on that coming up.

Some people have been discussing how to handle the DC reboot in light of the big news coming out of the DCU. DC are sparking a line-wide relaunch in September. Post-Flashpoint, apparently it's not going to be a total restart, just a clean break with a wave of new stories, and some alterations to continuity, all to make things more accessible for new readers.

My suggestion? Capitalise on this. There's likely going to be a big boost in interest in the DCU come September, and perhaps our RPG would benefit from riding that wave. Maybe we should think about doing the DC RPG reboot in September, to coincide with the relaunch of the actual DCU. Or maybe schedule OUR relaunch for October 1st, 2011, to let DC get all its new #1s out and give players a sense of what characters in this slightly adjusted sandbox they want to play as.

No history clogging us down, no confusion over how we're gonna fit into a certain period of continuity. The DCU starts afresh, and we do right alongside them. It's kinda poetic.

I did want to try and reboot this baby in September, but honestly I'm still on the fence about starting over at that point. The more I read about what the new DCU is going to look like, the more I like certain new concepts and dislike others.

Right now I'm still for a post Brightest Day, pre Flaspoint continuity...but, as always, I will leave up the final decision to the players.

Before deciding on going with the DCU reboot or not, I'd want them to get a couple of issues out. Maybe we can start the OOC thread in October, then start the game in November if that's the continuity we want to use. The excitement will still be there.

Besides, the game's going slow enough right now that we could probably use the extra month.

Yeah. I wanted to hash out the finer details either in this OOC thread, or in the new one. Put a moratorium on all applications until we get the details worked out.

But this can all go smoother if we all get together, work together....and POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOST!
