Byrd Man I couldn't find a better place to apply to be Swamp Thing, so I might as well try here. If you still don't think it fits or if it just sucks go ahead and reject it.

Alec Holland, a scientist working in the Louisiana swamps on a secret bio-restorative formula "that can make forests out of deserts", is killed by a bomb planted by agents of the mysterious Mr. E (Nathan Ellery), who wants the formula. Splashed with burning chemicals in the massive fire, Holland runs from the lab and falls into the muck-filled swamp, after which a creature resembling a humanoid plant appears some time later. Plus I love to go hiking out by rivers and through forests and what not. :P

It’s afternoon. There’s a cricket chirping. There is a group of teenagers camping in my swamp. Camping is not allowed. No matter though. No person or group of persons has ever stayed more then one day in my swamp. People wander in curious of the myths surrounding the swamp, my home. Regardless, to make sure their intentions are not evil, as most people who come here have been, I watch them.

There are two of them, one man, one woman, one canvas tent set up hastily beneath the mangroves on one of the dryer spots of ground. The woman, who is probably not from the local town of Lacroix based on her pale skin, sets a towel on the ground and lies on it in a bikini, its not done in an attempt to tan as no sun gets through the thick canopy above. It is more likely done in attempt to attract the man. Driven by animal instincts, carnal instincts, to reproduce, she throws away inhibitions, throws away judgement and intelligence, throws away humanity in order to indulge a deep animal want to copulate. It’s evening and I could be needed elsewhere. I walk away in disgust.

As I walk through the swamp I relish the awe inspiring terrain before me. With every step I smile as the mud and moss gives beneath my feet. The swamp is pure. The towering trees keep the floor damp so the moss can grow. Small bugs feed on the moss, the birds and fish feed on the insects and give off the gasses needed by the fauna, the perfect balance, no evil comes from it, no good. Nothing could upset it. Then I hear shouts. I start to run.

“You filthy ****e! I knew it! I knew you were ch-cheating on me Gina!”

“Steven please, you’re drunk. Just calm down!” Gina screamed running out of the tent into the dark campsite.

“I don’t have to take this from you!” Steven said, pulling a revolver from the back of his pants.

“St-Steven please… baby… don’t…” Gina whimpers.

“Don’t “baby” me you ****! I’m going to kill you right here!” he wearily wales into the night as he pulls back the hammer on his gun. Gina eyes grow large, her pupils dilate as she thinks about what is about to happen to her. She backs up reaching out behind her, hoping she might find an ally, but only comes up on one of the infinite mangroves in the dark, isolated swamp. She had no chance. A deer raises its head as it hears the shot ring out endlessly through the forest.

“AGHHHHH!” an intense pain ran through his arm. A large green hand that had fingers more like wines than fingers was crushing his wrist. This hand lead to a tree trunk of an arm attached to the largest creature he had ever seen. It had plants all over it. It had red eyes. It wasn’t happy.

“That was a bad choice”.

But at the same time, The Red still exists within the DCU seeing as how that is how Animal Man accesses his powers. Being what The Red is, things like The Clear and The Green must also still reside within the DCU given that they are like mysterious forces of nature.

So I say you're approved, but if byrd wants to overturn this he can given he's the head GM. So consider it like a test-run.

Also Constantine first appeared in Swamp Thing, and he's been repeatedly accepted in this game

Well, Keyser made a point to me that Constantine makes regular appearances in the DCU while Swamp Thing doesn't. Like I said, the last appearance I recall was around '94 in the Aquaman title. But then again I'm no Swamp Thing fan to know for sure that he visited the DCU later.

I just figured since the JLA and Jason Blood showed up in the comics and deadman and what not it would be ok. But like you said Byrd Man is the God of this world.

No need to ask for permission to play someone. Just submit an application and we will judge from there. Recognizing who he is though, if you were going to simply interact with yourself as Swamp Thing you could just use Floronic Man as an NPC (Non-playable character) and do whatever arc you have in mind. This way you have a free character slot open for someone else. But, in the end it is up to you.

Also no need to ask permission about what arc you do. Now, if you mean some sort of RPG-wide large scale arc? Then it would be a different situation. As in, if it was some arc that would involve all the players of the RPG. But I wouldn't call that asking for permission either, just sort of seeing if people are interested.

I would plan to use Woodrue for any arc that includes him or of course in arcs with swamp. I will have to get an app up for him
