Actually, the impregnation was terminated when The Joker shot her after finding out. The beating from Canary came afterwards, after Harley was yet again swayed under Joker's charms, despite the resentment she held. When The Joker seemingly "died" in an attempt to kill Bruce, Harley let all of her pent up emotions out and renounced him due to the trauma she had been holding back from Joker's killing of the child, among other indignities.

Falling in love with Batman, seemingly, she tried to briefly become Batwoman to win him over, but was thwarted by the real Batwoman's debut, and she hasn't been seen much since. I believe she was last shown fighting crime in her regular Harley Quinn identity, but I'm a little fuzzy on that area.

Great, thanks:yay:

I'm going to edit the sample post and history because they're kinda crappy, so the finished app will be done soon.

The "World of Heroes" DC RPG Season VIII Application

Screen Name: J'adore

Character you would like to play (please include the color and font you plan on using to portray the character): Harley Quinn

Powers and Brief Origin (provide at least two sentences) If you copy/paste this information from another website, link back to it, or it is considered plagiarism and is not allowed. : Harleen Quinzel, the Arkham psychiatrist who fell in love with the Joker. A "mad love" would lead her to a life of crime as Harley Quinn, frequent accomplice, and would-be-girlfriend of the Clown Prince of Crime.

She discovered the Joker way back in her early days of work and quickly became fascinated with his insane motives. She voluntarily asked for a chance to analyze him. During one of their sessions the Joker tells her about his tragic past and how his father abused him. She gained sympathy for him and quickly fell in love with him. She helped the Joker escape dressed up a the Harley Quinn. So, started her career as the Joker's sidekick.

After discovering she was pregnant, Harley decided to tell the father of the baby. Mister J. Of course, this would only spell out trouble for the Joker, and so he shot Harley, destroying the child within her. Not long after that, she was beaten to a pulp by Black Canary.

After Harley once again fell under the charms of Joker, she later found out that he was supposedly 'dead' during a battle with Batman. After becoming distraught and upset, she finally realeased all her emotions on what she truly thought of the Joker killing her child.

Back to her psychotic ways once again, Harley fell 'in love' with the Batman, even donning the guise of Batwoman. But, these plans were thwarted when Kate Kane, the true Batwoman, erupted on to the scenes of Gotham.

She now fights crime under her old guise of 'Harley Quinn'.

Group your character is aligned with (if applicable): Walking The Line

Write two complete sentences using proper English grammar. One to explain what you plan to do with the character you've chosen. The other to explain why you've chosen this character. (i.e. What are your goals? Will you be doing anything different with the character than is usually seen?): I plan on having Harley interact with people she hasn't interatced with before, breaking away from the title of a 'sidecick' and certainly becoming more independent.

Do you have an Instant Messenger? Which one, and what is your screen name?: newfound_x <-- yahoo

She sat quietly in the bar, spinning her phone around her fingers. She pursued her lips, using her free hand to tap against the bar. Several men looked her up and down, examining her petite but voluptuous figure. Her unusual style of red and black perplexed the interested punters, sliding their grimey selves closer to Harley.

A female bartender stood silently behind the bar, cleaning empty beer glasses. She scorned Harley for only jealous reasons. She couldn't of made it more obvious to Harley, purposely slamming the empty glasses down beside her. Harley didn't flinch, she just giggled slightly, winking towards the punters, flashing cheeky grins and sticking her tongue out playfully. As the bartender opened her thin mouth to speak, Harley shot up, out of her stool. Her phone had started vibrating and releasing a jingling ring. She playfully twirled towards the Girl's bathroom, looking back the punters one last time.

"Ivy baby! Long time no talk, right?" Harley giggled, sitting up against the sinks. She played with her hair, laughing away as her best friend, Pamela Isley chatted away through the other end of the line. They talked endlessly about the past, the present and a possible future.

She'd tried to avoid mentioning her heroic ways to Pamela, not wanting to lose her best friend and former roommate over a trivial matter of hero vs villain. But of course, it wouldn't take Pamela long to ask about Harley's current alliance.

"Hey, Ivy! I thought we agreed this phone call was strictly based on finding a new apartment, nothing else!"

As Harley opened her mouth to speak, she was instantly cut off my Pamela. An argument occured, but was short lived. Her reasoning and shouting just didn't work on Pamela. She ended the phone call, Harley still unsure on wether the two were still on speaking terms.

Massaging her temple on her forehead, Harley took a deep sigh, closing her eyes and slipping her phone back into her bag. Her moment of peace and relaxation was quickly destroyed, as a calm but dominant voice called out for Harley's name."Hey, cheeky girl, you've got someone in the bar who wants you,"

"Tell them to buzz off!" Feeling lost in the moment, she feels the voice getting closer. She opens one eye, to see the envious barmade standing still infront of her.

"Get off of my sinks and get your butt out there, this guy's from the Goverment!"

"The Goverment!?"

Well, you are a ****e.

J'adore is APPROVED!

Statistics show that RPGs work 1000% better when posts are made.

("Yes? Hello? Is this Mr. Kettle? Yes, this is Mr. Pot. I was just calling to inform you that you are black.")

Personally, I'm close to giving up on this game. Everyone else is so why not join in? I've tried being nice, tried being mean but it all amounts to nothing. You can't make people post when they want to.

I'm gonna say the word sooo taboo, I'll probably be hated by some, loved by others, and killed by Byrd:

"Reboot".

Not like I'm a fan of it, because I've done a lot of stories in this cannon I'm proud of like I'm sure everyone in here has, but a reboot worked for Heroes vs. Villains and Ultimate DC. Just food for thought.

I actually kicked that idea around a few months back with a few members of the RPG and some other long-time RP vets. Most of them were either flat out against it, or wary of doing it but agreed that something had to be done.

But I've been trying to post for a month now and I always stare at my computer screen wondering why I should post, nobody else is. And I know that's a real ****** attitude to have and doesn't improve anything, but I can't help it.

I really doubt rebooting it now will help for more than that initial period. Unlike HvV and Ultimate, the only real reason to reboot it would be to boost activity back up. Nothing else - no continuity issues, no confusing retcons, no terrible arc bogging everyone down and making everyone lose interest. There's just no reason not to pursue other options first and foremost, considering how drastic of an option that rebooting can really be.

I agree that a reboot should be the last possible but the game needs something now. I don't know if it's stripping everyone of their characters and making them reapply for them or a new character, or turning this puppy over to new management. But there has to be something done to get everyone pumped back up to play.

Considering how many people are on the chopping block currently... many of them being major characters, a character-based solution isn't a bad idea. But I don't think the answer lies in you giving up the GM position - clearly, the problem isn't you, because there's only so much a GM can do to make people post and you've certainly tried to reinforce that to the best of your abilities. I have a feeling that no one would fare better than you have if you passed the position down.

You're goddamn right. And don't forget it. :cmad:

If anyone else has any ideas, shout 'em out. This is your game, folks. Game lives and dies by your hands.

When I get home tonight, I'll do a character update. Maybe I'll just take away anyone over the 21 day limit rather than giving them a warning.

Also, I haven't posted as my characters because I'm waiting on Keyser and BL (unless they did indeed post, then I'm just a lazy *******).

Yea byrd turned to me with this idea and it shouldn't surprise you guys I was against a reboot.

The character idea I think works best. It shows how much the people currently holding characters x, y, z actually care about characters x, y, z for playing this game. It could ignite the same effect a new season has on people which is what this game needs. I am 100% for taking away all currently played characters and making people re-apply.

Simply send a forum PM to each player as a courtesy though the OOC thread is always the best source for info anyway.

Seconded. I'd definitely be up for applying again for a new character. I think part of the reason I got bored with playing Tim was I'd played him for so long, and couldn't really think of much else to do with him.

How much would everyone hate me if I made everyone apply for new characters? Like Cats said, too long with one character means things can get boring and stale. I understand people have plans they want to do with certain characters, but if you're past the limit with said character than give it up and give someone else a chance.

I think the problem is the people driving these major arcs aren't posting. Sorry to be blatant like that, but it's how I feel. That, and the fact that there's so much major stuff going on, I feel like all the people not directly involved in resolving the problem feel like place holders until the arc's over.

Just my 2 cents, feel free to call me SSF.

Word. I won't complain about having to reapply because it is my fault that I haven't posted, but I can only think of so many posts of Superboy fighting Black Lanterns and Darkseid's minions before it gets repetitive. I was kinda hoping there would a major development in the arc so that there was a change of circumstance or something.

I agree. Same thing that happened in Marvel when we tried to do Civil War. The whole arc was dependent on two people, both of who chose that exact time to go MIA. We did good two seasons ago and the DA2 went off pretty well without any major delays, but this Final Crisis/Blackest Night arc is really stalling to the point of getting stagnant. Cause and effect, the stalling of the arc is causing many of us to feel like not posting.

Understandable. I agree to a degree. That definitely causes a general mood across the RPG.

Sorry wieg for not posting. I must've missed your until now. I'll get one up.

Alright so trusty, weig, and myself have talked it over and we're going to try to move the Final Crisis/Blackest Night arc along by ourselves if possible. We'll NPC Darkseid, Black Hand, whoever and take over the arc and try to round it off to a proper finish.

Sound good?

To back up byrd's post:

So it is understood, the idea was brought up because with byrd as the GM and us as the AGMs...we are trying to come up with a way to get this RPG moving. We all established that the issues are not that of the other RPGs in the past so this seems to be the best alternative.
