The Wrestling Thread Has More Hype Than WrestleMania XXIX - - Part 92

I see HBK causing HHH the match at WM setting up HHH vs HBK at WM30

Triple-H's last match should be the guy that he feuded with from the European Title scene to the IC title scene all the way to some of the best World Title Matches of the Attitude era. The Rock. Arguably, HHH and The Rock are each others most notable rivalries.

This. I'd much rather see HHH vs the Rock next year than HHH vs HBK, a match done to death, or Rock vs Brock II, a match better suited for Summerslam where it originated.

I wouldn't be Surprised if they copied the WM 17 ending on Rock vs. ccena

Cena gets so frustrated that he can't put the Rock down so he results to the use of chairs. Course the match would have to be made No Holds Barred or No DQ for that to Happen.

Also IF HBK ever did come out of Retirement I would actually rather see Rock vs. HBK I think these two haven't fought and I think it would've been a good one back in the day.

There's no way I would want HBK causing HHH's match and then jobbing to him at WM30. That would be much, much worse than HHH trying to get his win from Lesnar.

F4Wonline.com has some preliminary times for WrestleMania 29 segments that don't include the entrances.

Chris Jericho vs. Fandango has been given 10 minutes

Kane and Daniel Bryan vs. Dolph Ziggler and Big E Langston has been given 12 to 15 minutes

Ryback vs. Mark Henry has been given 12 minutes

The Shield vs. Randy Orton, Big Show and Sheamus has been given 15 minutes

CM Punk vs. The Undertaker has been given 20 minutes

Jack Swagger vs. Alberto Del Rio has been given 15 minutes

Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar has been given 20 to 30 minutes

The Rock vs. John Cena has been given 25 to 30 minutes

Diddy's musical performance has been given 8 minutes

WWE Hall of Famers coming out has been given 7 minutes

The show opener and National Anthem has been given 7 minutes

Other segments throughout the show have been given around 10 minutes

I would give more time to the tag team title match because if people are paying $70, you should give them more Daniel Bryan than that.

I feel like there are two directions Cena could go as a heel:

1. Basically, take everything that people who hate Cena hate about him and dial it up. Even cheesier, goofier promos. More shouting, the same Cena we’ve all been booing for all these years.

2. Bitter Cena. This is the John Cena who’s tired of the fans disrespecting him. He’s tired of “Cena sucks” and “you can’t wrestle.” He can make the point that he’s been carrying the company for eight years now and, in the meantime, his contemporaries have flamed out, since that’s the heart of people’s complaint about him: he’s not edgy enough. Because he doesn’t beat women, drink beer, gyrate like a stripper, point to his crotch, or punt people in the head, he’s not cool. It would also bring up the issue that while Cena has grown stale, that’s happened largely because no one has emerged to take his place.

Not sure which character I’d like more. I just know they’re totally preferable to more of the Cena we’ve been getting since 2005, but that’s the problem. I’d start to cheer him when he should be booed.

If that 20 minutes of Punk/Taker includes entrances than it will be a very short match.

For those of you who has WWE'13'..is there someone on the roster that you didn't think you'd play as at all before the game came out But now you do?,I like current WWE But I'm very nostalgic and grew up with now legends for most of my life and so I was excited for the Attitude Era stuff&people like DDP,For a while I barely touched the current stars except a few until recently..

Current WWE sucks most of the time and lots of wrestlers/characters are being handled wrong But I feel many of them are actually damn good wrestlers and so with Universe Mode I get to push everyone my way&have my own virtual modern day WWE, I have a Legends brand and that was where my attention was But now I rarely play as them for their show.

I guess I'm finally starting to move on from them for some reason. For WWE'14 I am hoping for some legends But I want a mostly current roster..Never though I'd say that!

will be either 20 min of Taker just destroying Punk, or Punk destroying Taker for 20 min then Taker doing a ''bad super cena impression'' and rebounding back and pinning Taker.

Why not both of them going at it back&forth?,Punk could get his ass kicked in the beginning and towards the end

Triple H's reasoning for this is he felt RVD lacked the ability on the mic to carry a main event feud and also lacked dedication with his laid back attitude, in truth I always agreed with him on that call.
Yeah, in hindsight I think he made the right call. Although I think due to being a massive RVD mark at the time, coupled with my annoyance and disdain for the majority of the 'Helmsley's Four Horseman Fantasy Come to Life', I was always going to think with my heart rather than my head. However, like others have said, there were some instances of Evolution Helmsley that I did like and enjoyed.

Interesting. I like it when they go THAT route, tattoo artists can create very cool, intricate engraving designs. Motorcycle shops, meh :whatever: :hehe:
Yep. It seems everyone has the ability to design a classy and/or appealing title design, but the E's creative team. :hehe: :oldrazz:

Thinking about it, one of the things I loved about Stone Cold Steve Austin is that he always made the WWE Championship feel like a big deal. That nothing was above it. He said often that if you weren't in the business to hold the title, then you have no reason to be in the business at all.

Even in the Punk/Austin interview for the WWE '13 promotion, he put the title over by eyeballing it repeatedly. It didn't feel like a prop when he was going after it.

That's what made his heel turn work to me. Austin was obsessed with getting it back, to the point that he was willing to join forces with his hated enemy to do it. That belt meant so much that old rivalries were ignored.
Completely agree. And I love that friggin' line! :D

There's no way I would want HBK causing HHH's match and then jobbing to him at WM30. That would be much, much worse than HHH trying to get his win from Lesnar.

Only ten minutes for Jericho? They could shave 5 off of Rock/Cena and give it to them.

Completely agree. And I love that friggin' line! :D

Me too. :D:up: It's why Austin was one of the best. He lived and breathed to be WWE Champion, and acted such.

I would honestly be really disappointed in a pointless HBK heel turn just so Hemsley can get one final wrestlemania match. Although I don't think HHH is going to be retiring next year. In fact I think I can predict what the top three matches will be next year already.

Cena vs. Undertaker
Punk vs. HHH
Lesnar vs. Rock

I think next year might be Taker's last(Although how often has the wrestling community predicted that?) and I feel HHH will be around at least 2-3 more years.I think HHH knows a Wrestlemania match with Punk will draw and it could even be for the title.

This is great news, I really hope it means Owen will finally be inducted into the Hall of Fame (perhaps next yr)

HARTFORD, Conn. — World Wrestling Entertainment and the widow of performer Owen Hart have settled a lawsuit over royalties and the use of Hart’s image.
The settlement was announced Wednesday by Martha Hart, WWE chief executive Vince McMahon, his wife and former CEO Linda McMahon, and the Stamford, Conn., company. The two sides did not disclose details.

Owen Hart died in 1999 while being lowered into the wrestling ring at Kemper Arena in Kansas City, Mo. He was 34.

Martha Hart sued in June 2010, alleging that WWE did not pay royalty payments owed to Owen Hart’s estate and violated a contract restricting the use of her late husband’s name and likeness.

Linda McMahon ran unsuccessfully as Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Connecticut in 2010 and 2012.

Everybody has a price! LOL. Money, money, money, money, money, money...

Re: Hunter Vs. Shawn

I'm all for one more match between these two since Wrestlemania 20 has been tarnished. However, not as Hunter's last match though as well as Shawn finally one upping him on PPV.

It should've been the match we got at Wrestlemania 26 as it looked like it had been heading in that direction with HBK cheapshotting HHH at Survivor Series, eliminating HHH at the Royal Rumble, and costing DX the tag team titles. Instead, we got a pointless rematch with The Undertaker. UGH!
