An excerpt from a John Cena interview on espn.com:
ESPN Playbook: I know you said youre not playing a character earlier, and how youre playing yourself, but a lot of fans continue to clamor for a John Cena heel turn. I know in the past youve said youre against it, but what if it was the best written script possible, something that would completely change the landscape of WWE? Would you go full-out heel and make the kids cry for maybe a year, or is that just not in the plans?
John Cena: I just dont see me getting there in order to please a very small group of 30-year-olds. To be very honest with you, every single week I meet kids with life-threatening illnesses and theyll tell me how much I mean to them, and their parents will tell me how inspirational Ive been to their kids. We raised a million dollars last year for breast cancer. Im helping spearhead the Hurricane Sandy relief fund at this years WrestleMania. Ive been able to give back to the military in Tribute to the Troops. And Im currently working on a program to help America shave 5 million pounds. All of this stuff I would have to stop if I was a bad guy. To be a bad guy, you actually have to be a bad guy. I just dont have it in me, personally. So although you might get a great story out of it for nine months, doing it would just take away so much, and I dont have that club in the bag.

I've thought about this because John is the number one make a wish wrestler and so many kids do look up to him. Then I remember being a kid and asking my dad if wrestling was real or fake within the first couple weeks of watching it with him. I was kind of let down at first , but glad at the same time because it was a relief people weren't getting seriously hurt.
I could see the bad guys as acting and could like someone if they were a heel or not. So I think a heel turn might be saddening to fans , but they will get over it very quickly.
During foleys speech he mentioned that he never pinned Jericho so Jericho came on stage took an elbow drop and punk pinned the one two three

Last year's show is like that for me in regards to CM Punk, as I strongly feel he should've been wrestling and beating Triple H there to cap off a multi-month long feud that sprung from the "Pipebomb" promo.
Punk and Triple H should of had an epic feud. The boneheaded decision to use Punk's momentum for Triple H's gain cost them in the long run. They could of made him a bigger star than he already is. I'm content with Punk as a performer , but I want to see the wwe machine back him like he was a Triple H or John Cena. The title reign was a great , but the damn thing only seemed relevant because it was around his waist. Punk did more for the title than it did for him.
