The Wrestling Thread has much larger nipples

As I'm convinced they're the same person anyway, I've decided to make them my women's tag team champions.

I like some of it. As it went on, it became clear that there was no point other then to do the stupidest crap possible. There was no storytelling there, and by the end there was no pro wrestling. By the end of it was exhausted and didn't want to watch it anymore. They made the decision for me to not buy the next PPV.

Brock vs. Ambrose sucked imo. But that doesn't absolve AEW of putting on some CZW crap. I am also finding the defense of this stunt painfully annoying. Not here, but else where. These are the kind of people who enjoy chairshots to the head if the wrestlers "want" to do them.

Also on a completely pedantic level, the match itself made no sense. It is "unsanctioned". Which is why it was on the AEW PPV, with AEW officials, and the PPV didn't end until it did. Sure, sure...
I see. Thanks for the response. What's interesting for me is the storytelling part. If there is one problem i have with the matches on Dynamite so far it's that i keep having to ask myself "What's the story here?" since too often the matches feel like a bunch a guys waiting for their cue so they can perform stunts.

Sadly, that describes most current indie wrestling to a t.

That is what kind of kills me about their roster. They have some of the best wrestlers in the world (Omega, Pac, Lucha Bros, and Moxley), but they have filled out their roster with some guys that are super indy, super green or just not great wrestlers. While we were watching the tag title match my brother goes, "man watching Private Party is so weird". And I knew exactly what he meant. They can't quite keep up, so it always looks like they are setting something up. Like they are thinking about it.

Also I don't know what happened to Hangman Page. I use to really like him, but in AEW he feels like he is moving in slow motion to me. He kind of moves like Jericho does now, which isn't good. Jericho is great at pretty much every part of pro wrestling now, but the pro wrestling bit. It is like watching latter day Flair, except I am pretty sure latter day Flair could move better.

I get that Jericho is playing up his character to help compensate for losing a lot of steps in the ring, but it's completely noticable that others have to change up their style to work with him. He does not have it anymore. He should be a special attraction at best.

I just... I had such high hopes for Page and Scurll this year. I haven't been this wrong in a while.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I just hadn't said anything because I didn't want to come off as WWE mark complaining about story lines or like I was trying to find something to complain about. I also agree about there being way too much blatant move set up. To me the Private Party vs Young Bucks match suck not only because it seemed to just go from spot to spot but you could plainly see moves being set up though the whole match. I don't need WWE story lines but give me a reason to care about what I'm seeing and a reason to like or dislike the people. And I'm perfectly fine with two guys/gals being placed into matches without being in a field or have issues because I personally think a sub plot for every wrestlers should be working there way to the top by beating more/better opponents . But you still need a reason to care about the characters and this is one area I think AEW fails at.

I mean I like Hangman Page because he's from Virginia like myself but our side of that I know nothing about the guy. Like why does he have a cowboy gimmick or why is he called Hangman? Also Dr. Brit Baker (please correct me if I got her name wrong) is my favorite AEW woman's wrestler because I know more about her than any of the other women I've seen because they seem to talk about her a lot and she was even a guest commentator for the first woman's title match. Which to me makes her seem like she's important to the division.

I might be alone on this one and that's fine but I find John Moxley even more boring in AEW. I wasn't his biggest fan in WWE and I care less know. I also still have to stop myself from calling him Dean Ambrose.

Impact Wrestling had a Twitch event last night called Over Ride. It was a great event with the post-match angle in the main event that's a tease for next year.

I like Private Party but most of that is due to seeing them in HoG recently. They still have a lot of growing to do.

Also what's up with so many wrestlers doing a diamond cutter/RKO over there? One episode had so many wrestlers doing it i couldn't believe it. I learned to live with the superkick being done a lot since HBK has been retired for 9 years now but the cutter is literally still a finisher because of Randy Orton so it comes off stupid to me. Plus the overly set up nature of these tag team cutters man.

AEW's not bad, but they need some smoothing of their rough edges. Their writing is a bit lacking in that they don't do a great job of giving their viewers are reason to care about the majority of their wrestlers. Outside of the Heavyweight and tag belts feuds, I don't exactly care about any other feud. The Moxley/Omega feud at first seemed like a classic heel/face feud, but then switched to face/face feud and I still didn't exactly get their animosity. Spending a bit more time on character development wouldn't hurt.

We're seeing lots of superkicks, DDT's, powerbombs, spears, and diamond cutters in the business for the last 23 years.

Is it just me or do the production values of AEW and Friday Night Smackdown pale to those of Raw? There just seems to be so much background noise and echo in the other shows.

Punk just showed up on WWE Backstage. He looks in great shape. My money is on him wrestling at Mania. I know it is a different contract, but I am so certain this is going to happen now. AEW and their hardcore fans are going to lose their minds. :funny:

Wow,CM Punk returns. I hope he actually returns to wrestle because him showing up on there just opens up a can a worms for the WWE's live events.

Too bad, though...I thought HE'D be the perfect "game-changer" for AEW to really take that next step.

I suspect we will see CM Punk in in-ring action within the next 12 months. This panel show thing is just to get him warmed up into the company again. If Daniel Bryan and Shawn Michaels can make in-ring comebacks, Punk can too. He'll get the urge back very soon, I suspect.

Booooooooooooooooooo!

Not really. AEW diehards will insist he'll show up at All Out 2.

I dont know about that. Unlike Michaels and Bryan, Punk left his in-ring career behind on a bad note. His love for the actual sport seems to jave died out after being burned out from bad management and from being overworked while dealing with a staff infection. The only way that I see him making a comeback in the ring is if it's completely in his terms (part-time schedule equivalent to Brock's workload, creative clauses, huge paydays, etc.)

I am happy that people are asking the legit most important question about Punk. Does this mean AJ Lee can come back? :atp:

Do you not remember how Shawn left? His last match was in agonizing pain where he was forced to drop the title after threats of violence. Oh and he was an addict they had to make go away.
