True. Watching him in AEW though. God is he boring. I have to give credit to NXT and the fans for getting him over. Because he is doing a really bad job on his own.It got Tully Blanchard back on TV?
He won at the PPV. Which shocked me out of my boredom.Has he even won a match or is he just the Barry Horowitz of AEW?
If AEW wants to sign former WWE talent, it has to be talent that AEW can benefit from. Jericho, Dustin Rhodes, Pac, Hager, Moxley and Shawn Spears all have national TV experience and will help from that standpoint plus all can add a ton of experience in the ring. Adding a woman like Tenille Dashwood would help the AEW Women's Division due to her experience on national TV. Jericho also adds the added bonus of being the biggest mainstream name in pro wrestling that isn't friendly with the WWE, despite the fact he's not on the level of mainstream appeal as a Dwayne Johnson or John Cena. If AEW goes the route of "let's just sign everyone who has been in the WWE over the past 2 to 3 years" that will ruin AEW. They need to stay away from the likes of Eva Marie, Enzo, Big Cass, James Ellsworth, Cameron and Summer Rae. I could see them adding Fred Rosser (Darren Young) for PR purposes though.
Oh, I skipped that match. Like most of the matches. He won at the PPV. Which shocked me out of my boredom.
Moxley vs. MJF is a bad idea. Because that should end with Moxley going over, because the theoretical madman would stop at nothing to kill someone like MJF whose only path to victory would be cheating. MJF is going to do his thing with Cody. Now whether he or Cody goes over should be interesting.Totally agree with you on this. AEW is at a point right now where they need to zero in on the acts that get the biggest reaction/draw and really make them the faces of the brand. Jericho's great, but they need to make their own "big heel" that's young. MJF would be a great start to it. I think a feud between him and, say, Jon Moxley would be a great starting point. If they are going to poach anyone from WWE, it needs to be someone underutilized that can "break out". IMO, someone like Apollo Crews would be a perfect "blank canvas" to make into a star.

How in the world has Shawn Spears helped anything?
Long term I could see that, but my hope is that the next champ is Moxley and then finally the Best Bout Machine gets the belt and has a long run. For me that would be the thing that would truly get me interested in AEW.While I agree that "in the end" Moxley should go over, I'm thinking more of a long-term storyline similar to Austin/HHH. MJF is the type of heel that should have a crew that helps keep the belt on him. Maybe have him usurp the Inner Circle from Jericho.
Also, MJF DEFINITELY has to go over Cody.
Io is one of the ten best wrestlers in the world right now. She has been amazing since the turn.Did anyone else see that Io Shirai/Mia Yim ladder match? Good god!
I'm amazed Mia Yim isn't dead after those 2 ladder spots.Did anyone else see that Io Shirai/Mia Yim ladder match? Good god!

I would think MJF would have to go over Cody. But Cody has a lot of his father in him, and he seems to think that as long as he doesn't put the belt on himself, he isn't showing himself favoritism. And I guess you can sell the idea that the face should always go over in the end. I think that would be a massive mistake, but I don't really trust Cody. I am still confused by whatever they are doing with Brandi.![]()
That would make sense if MJF was the first champ. But he isn't. It's Jericho, who they are building the chase around. And I am very weary of perpetual heel champions. Outside of Flair, I don't think that has ever worked. And that worked back in the territory days. Hogan, Austin, and Cena are the all time money makers, and they held the belt for ages. Even with Cena, he lost the belt a lot, but he reigned for over 1,500 days as WWE/World champion. Fans today loved Okada and Dunne's runs. Asuka was a queen during her reign. Becky is more over then anyone in the WWE. Even the Fiend (she appeals to everyone).Moxley's gonna get the belt, but the money is in the chase. Having MJF as the champ who's being chased by the "lunatic fringe" who comes up short until the grand moment is how you get eyes on the product. Austin/McMacmahon wasn't great because Austin was the champ the majority of the time, it was great because he was constantly getting worked by the boss until he got his comeuppance.
Sting was it for WCW much more than Goldberg.. Goldberg was that for WCW. AEW needs "their" star to build around

Probably means nothing but I saw on AJ's IG that she's back training. Then again she still looks fantastic so I doubt that she wasn't training for very long.I am happy that people are asking the legit most important question about Punk. Does this mean AJ Lee can come back?![]()
