I do agree, somewhat, that Jericho has had a bit too much screen time, especially considering how limited AEW's is. He's a draw though, so it is what it is...
AEW still seems more competent on a week to week basis, but it definetly feels like, if they really are going to be the primary importer of WWE’s overly-qualified cast-offs, then they need to plan out how to use that second show their planning to integrate the roster without becoming its own competition. I’ve long thought WWE’s problem with the brand split was not thinking out how it could be done, not the concept itself, but admittedly, it would be tricky even if you did approach it intelligently. It's been reported that Naitch has been released from whatever agreement he has with WWE.
This is getting silly now. I wonder if WWE are doing this now at this point to fuel the "lol AEW TNA Lite" jibes.
WWE is the last thing that excites me in a fascinating time in wrestling but it does concern me that AEW is getting a bit scatterbrained in its planning because they're not controlling the roster or storylines.
At least in terms fo who they actually want to feature, very much so. But they also need to make sure they can genuinely produce *new* talent all the way through as well - if for no other reason than to show they don’t need WWE to be stupid in order to make a Royal Flush of a card. And that’s an area where I might get more stingy if I were them - even if I felt I could produce a massive super card of Vince’s sabotaged and forgotten main roster and NXT castoffs, I’d still want Darby, MJF, Sammy, and Page on it as well, even if it meant I had to kick off a few proven WWE guys.I think AEW has been very picky in regards to former WWE talent.
The show is taped if I have to right, so they need to look at themselves also.Sigh.....at Max Castor. AEW needs to discipline him because he rapped about Simone Biles and the Duke Lacrosse Rape case.
He's a moron.
Cole & Brit together would fantastic.Adam Cole Reportedly Turns Down Multiple WWE Contract Offers, AEW Bound?
WWE NXT is at risk of losing one of their biggest stars. Former leader of The Undisputed Era and the longest reigning NXT Champion of all time, Adam Cole has the end of his contract rapidly approaching. It is set to end just after NXT Takeover 36, where Cole is expected to face Kyle O’Reilly in their third and final match. This is likely where his NXT run ends, but could it also see him leave WWE?
Adam Cole Has Refused Contract Offers From WWE
The contract of Adam Cole actually expired first around The Great American Bash, but he signed an extension to finish up the feud with Kyle O’Reilly properly. With that feud ending, Cole is set to become a free agent. WWE are trying to keep him under contract, but a report from PWUnlimited indicates that Cole has turned down multiple offers from WWE for new contracts.
It’s unclear what Cole is being offered, but whatever it is is clearly not good enough at this time. Given the current landscape of WWE, with them having been making big cuts on the regular. The latest big names released were Bray Wyatt and the legendary Ric Flair, showing that no one is safe. This would be enough for most to choose to not stick around, even someone with as high an upside as Cole.
A Potential Challenger At All Out For Kenny Omega?
If Cole does leave WWE following NXT Takeover 36, his most obvious destination is All Elite Wrestling. Not only is his girlfriend their Women’s Champion, but Cole was an old cast member of Being The Elite. He can enter the company with built in storylines with both The Young Bucks & Kenny Omega, due to their past in Bullet Club.
Considering in Being The Elite canon, Adam Cole was poisoned by The Elite, he could even show up looking to help destroy their faction in revenge. Currently, Kenny Omega has no challenger for All Out, after he was able to put Hangman Page down to win a 5 vs. 5 survival match. AEW hasn’t played their hand yet, and the build could be a quick rushed affair.
