The Wrestling Thread has much larger nipples

They might want to rethink that after tonight's reaction to Cody, it's weird as the fans have been behind him all the way until Vegas.
As we know, it wouldn’t be the first time fans got sick of Cody being a mark for himself but being that this is WWE fans, I think it was just the Vegas/Mania crowd anomaly, they were booing Bianca too and I don’t think it will last…

I'd like for Punk to win the title from Cena and eventually lose it (to Cody probably) at WrestleMania 42

This is my true ideal scenario too. Cody vs CM Punk could be electric especially if they can manage to play up the AEW subtext with one another. Plus they've teased a feud since the leadup to Royal Rumble last year. Would be an awesome payoff for Night 2 next year if they can stay hot with the fans for another 12 months.

This makes Jey vs Gunther better :o

The two main events should have been reversed for sure.

I didn't like the Logan Paul jerk fest on commentary. If you were gonna have him win, should have just let Kross hit him with the knucks getting AJ disqualified.

Happy to see Becky, but Bayley got screwed. Maybe they'll redo the Jade angle and Becky attacked Bayley?

Over ask night two was better for me, but Punk/ Rollins/ Reigns had an instant classic.

Cole can call Cena the Goat all he wants, but he's not even the goat of WWE.

Couldn't agree more, and the Goat stuff with Cena is absolutely cringe, I like him well enough but it's just silly.

Money in the Bank. I think Jey won't have it very long.

Again, it is the new hot angle. It won't last and Cody will get the fans back on his side

I hope you're right but it just felt weird to me that for 6 weeks there was no sign of it.

Agreed. Cena deserves better for his last Mania match.

In fairness he's washed, the booking of the match was dreadful but he's a shell of the guy he was, and while I think Cody’s a decent worker, you'd need prime Savage/Bret/Shawn to carry him to a good match at this point.

The Rock was supposed to be at the UFL season opener but could not make it due to plane issues. At that time, the players of the UFL had written a note to give to him about issues that they were having in the CBA, hoping that he was there. He was not due to plane issues and with the alarming number of plane crashes this year, the Rock made the right move.

Also makes Cody more interesting because he'll be the one chasing the belt

Well, yeah he is. He was decent back in Elimination Chamber though.

Just imagine that cash in though.

He would run faster to that ring than Seth did at Mania, it'll be bonkers.
Lol. They should video him running all the way from the Gorilla position.

Take the bus, Dwayne.

As soon as the Logan Paul-AJ Styles match started, the match quality went down.

The big issue I think here is Cena hasn't worked heel in a long time. So he was doing the slow, plodding heel style of wrestling. Which in theory maybe sounds good, but in execution made for one boring match. Couple that with that Travis Scott ending, and oh boy...stinker. I don't blame Cody for this one. I don't think prime Stone Cold could have salvaged that ending. Sheesh.

That was probably the worst Mania I’ve ever seen… I missed quite a few being a lapsed fan so I won’t try to rank it but yeah, I think it’s the worst I’ve actually watched..

You guys know we're defintely getting Cena/Orton for Backlash right?

Yeah, I think that was telegraphed the moment it was revealed to be in St. Louis, I hope the undercard is at least good.

As we know, it wouldn’t be the first time fans got sick of Cody being a mark for himself but being that this is WWE fans, I think it was just the Vegas/Mania crowd anomaly, they were booing Bianca too and I don’t think it will last…

The Bianca thing is interesting as she's been getting heat ever since the Naomi reveal, and was clearly the least popular with the fans in every arena during the build up to the Women's World title match.

It's Cena. Like the Rock after Hogan, he'll be fine.

I guess, I just thought it was weird how it happened all of a sudden.

Well, yeah he is. He was decent back in Elimination Chamber though.

True, I think Rollins bumping for him and his old chemistry with Punk helped there, it's a bit different in a singles match where you have to go 20 minutes. I dunno, this bathed in mayonnaise, sunroof hairdo Cena just ain't it for me.

The Women's Title match and IC Title match were fun tonight. Joe Hendry got his Mania moment. For me, the quality of tonight's show went downhill when Logan Paul came out.

Going by ones I watched either live or like the next day or 2 after, that honor goes to Mania 32. Truly awful show, was like 7 hours, and didn't have the 2 night break up. Also, this Manua at least had a few great matches. 32 had misery and more mystery and a 32 minute Triple H vs Reigns main event. Yuck.

But that said, worst one in a few years. There are worse Manias, but this one overall was lacking.

I'm with you. I stopped watching around WM23, got back into it again during the Pandemic, but since 2020 this has been the weakest Mania I've seen thus far. Last year was pretty weak too outside of the heavily built up Cody/Bloodline/Rock stuff, but this year was much worse.

Night 1 and 2 were the inverse. Night 1 started slow and ended great. Night 2 started great and ended bad. Which results in a show that was....average with a very sour tasting main event

Any thoughts on Stand and Deliver though? Finally watched the whole thing today and the only thing I didn't care for was Stacks betraying Tony D. Not the biggest fan of Hank and Tank, but I get why they won.
