This Drake Maverick thing is a work, otherwise they would have replaced him with either Bryan Kendrick or Ariya Daivari in the tournament and not have so much focus on him tonight.

I've been saying the same thing about Rockstar Spud/ Drake Maverick. I feel he's furloughed and that he and WWE are working others.

I do understand why people are upset at the WWE being an essential service, I get that. It should not be, but wrestling is a distraction and we need distractions. But if we ban wrestling during a pandemic, lets ban all entertainment during a pandemic: all streaming services, video games, books, all cell phones with games, ESPN and all sports with classic content and lets all sleep in for 24 hours/7 days a week and not have any form of entertainment at all.

There are people on Reddit and Social media who say that we should ban all entertainment because it's not an essential service. My point is that it is an essential service.....essential to our mental health. I know that pro wrestling has violated social distancing rules, but that wasn't my point. My point is that pro wrestling is another form of escapism and if pro wrestling is all someone wants to watch, then it's essential to that person's mental health. Most of us do not need new pro wrestling right now as we have other forms of entertainment we can distract ourselves with but for some people, new pro wrestling shows would be all that they want to watch. They won't watch The Last Dance, or Tiger King, they will want to watch new pro wrestling content instead of older stuff from the Attitude Era or even the Era of Hulkamania. These people would prefer to watch new episodes of AEW Dynamite every week instead of an old WWE RAW show from 1999.
