Vince's suit on Smackdown reminded me of the ones from his commentating days.

I have to watch the full episode but it seems like we've got some things to really discuss here, with Roman, Retribution, this weird ass Alexa thing, the two International Champions, and Keith Lee''s early days on RAW.

There's going to be a new NXT Champion because Kross got injured.

AEW is really trying to put over Brodie Lee, I think this Mox/MJF thing is clicking for me, Eddie Kingston's faction has piqued my interest, Jericho and Cassidy is amusing, this Taz crew is a nice little thing to have going for Cage and Starks, Thunder Rosa, Ivelisse, the end of this bull**** Hangman and Omega tag team run in sight....

Hot damn....Time to get fully back in the mix I think

I would not be at all surprised if a wrestler or two this weekend at Payback did something in tribute to actor Chadwick Boseman. I also would not be surprised if some people who regularly cover wrestling don't understand the tribute as well.

No, people who cover wrestling will get it in this case I think. Black Panther was big enough and the Boseman story has enough play that we won't get clueless nonsense like "Samoa Joe is King Shark in the Suicide Squad 2 video game".

This is going to reach people outside the geek/movie sphere.

I hope so. It would look tone deaf if someone did the tribute to Chadwick (could be as simple as the "Wakanda Forever" salute) on Payback and someone like Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer were confused as to why such a tribute took place. I would think they would understand the impact that Black Panther had in pop culture.

I do have to mock Ringside News for the Suicide Squad thing just because no one on staff knew anything about DC Fandome, which is more mainstream than any of the stuff we're talking about here.

It's just funny.

Yeah, DC Fandome was big mainstream news, mostly for Matt Reeves Batman, but that's not surprising though. All they cover is wrestling and nothing else matters. If like Apollo Crews did the "Wakanda Forever" tribute and Meltzer and Alvarez had no idea why he was doing that, I think it would be due to ignorance for mainstream stuff and they would probably get heat for it. Having said that, I would expect at least Alvarez to know what that salute meant, as I would assume he has kids at home and has watched plenty of Marvel movies due to his kids.

The folks over at Cageside Seats seem more in tune with mainstream stuff involving wrestlers, especially if it's anything related to Cena, The Rock or Batista. This was the reaction of Cageside Seats Sean Reuter when John Cena's character in Suicide Squad was announced:

John Cena’s Suicide Squad character revealed

Hopefully Roman gets rid of the flack jacket.

Yeah it makes him look "weak," (Kayfabe) since it seems like he's the only one who's wearing armor in a match... but I always thought he needed a new look because it's still basically his Shield outfit

Ringside is understandably getting heat for that Sonya and Mandy meme. I can veer into jerk face territory at times but that was bad. Pretty pretty bad.

The closest Mitch Trubisky will ever get to a championship:

I would not mind seeing 205 Live rebranded as Evolve Wrestling since WWE bought Evolve. It can be useful as a place where WWE PC talent can perform and hone their skills before they go to NXT. I have been watching 205 Live recently and they have been using a lot of Ever-Rise and Tehuti Miles. Ever since the move to the Thunderdome, all the WWE PC talent have been doing have been cheering on NXT regulars and a rebranded 205 Live as Evolve would give them a chance to wrestle. I would not use NXT regulars for a re-branded 205 Live except for maybe special appearances. I would not want to see Shotzi Blackheart or Tegan Nox on this show (as much as I like them both) as they are NXT regulars, nor do I want to see Timothy Thatcher or Cameron Grimes on a rebranded 205 Live either. I would like to see the ones we haven't seen on NXT TV get their chance to shine.
