The Wrestling Thread has much larger nipples

Five years ago, if you had told me CM Punk would not only be back in WWE but he would be friendly with AJ Styles and be celebrating with him in the ring as he's winding down his in-ring career, I would've said I will believe it when I see it.

Poor Mami got her nose mushed last night in Tokyo. :plead:

100%, it's surreal seeing Punk at these live events as the ambassador for WWE, it's almost like he's player/coach out there, conducting all the aftermath stuff with the crowds. Him returning was a big shocker on it's own, but I'd never have predicted he'd become so ingrained in the company.

Ilja Dragunov winning the US Title seems random AF, but we'll see how it goes. They need to do something with Sami Zayn already. He's 41 years old, and who knows how much longer he can wrestle at his current level. Also, he rejected an offer to move to SmackDown for a shot at the title, only to go there anyway voluntarily and not get one. What a dope.

Ilya and Melo had a really good feud in NXT. Hopefully that's what they get to for the US title.

Who do we think attacked Jacob?

Aleister Black
MFT
Damien Priest
Cody Rhodes or
Randy Orton
Drew is obviously not the guy imo.

A quick Google search says that AJ Styles contact is up in Feb 2026 though that isn't a 100% reliable. I could see him doing his last match at Wrestlemania or I could also see him doing his final match in a TNA ring with the current deal in place.

Melo vs Dragunov in a US title program would produce great matches, but one of them needs to go heel to get some steam behind it.

I just hope they actually have a plan for who attacked Jacob, unlike the Jade Cargill angle that felt like they were winging it. I'm gonna go with Randy, he'll say he was doing it to protect Cody.

I'd like to see AJ work at least one more match in TNA, but I'd love to see him bow out at Wrestlemania, preferably in a great match with someone like Dragunov or Reed.

Imagine if they had Gunther defeat AJ in his final match. He could say he retired Goldberg, Cena (as per current rumors), and AJ Styles. That would make Gunther THE top heel imo.

I hadn't actually thought about Gunther, that would be perfect, giving him the trifecta of legend retirement matches!

Heyman was cooking with that promo! :D strong opening segment, it'll be interesting to see who wins the battle royal, I'm guessing LA Knight.
