To show u the genius of Chris Jericho...the guy was trending #1 worldwide & didn't say a word to initiate it.

Chris Jericho is the Master of Puppets. Y2J played the crowd like a fiddle last night. Jericho proved why I consider him up there with the best all around performers in history . Chris Jericho is up there with Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, and Randy Savage. Punk better be ready because this ain't The Miz or John Cena. There is someone who can match him/surpass him in all areas now. Jericho is the ony one on the roster who can touch Punk as an overall performer.

Trish does look stunning as a blond. She shows her age as a brunette, but still looks good.

God I'm so stoked for a Jericho/Punk feud. Punk brought me back into the game, Jericho will keep me around.

What Jericho did last night was marvellous. Though I wouldn't be surprised if the WWE drop the ball with it like they seem to have with Punk, IMO.

Jericho has more creative control , I don't think they will. Not that it would surprise me though.

Also R-Truth was brilliant last night. "Uh oh, little jimmy says you need to get got"

I'm starting to think Cena's character won't be changing at all. This all seems to be leading to Cena rising above the hate of Kane, The Rock, and the smarks. He's just going to keep doing this lame ass routine and act like "Gee you guys are big meanies, but I'm not going to verbally attack you or go nuts and start kicking your ass because that would add feul to the feuds and make it more intense. No, I just want to smile and kiss ass because animosity has no place in wrestling storylines."

That storyline jumped the shark last night , imo. Unless Cena gets dragged down into the abyss and comes out as Bizarro Cena

Definitely, for my money Jericho is certainly amongst the elite and was part of the best angle I've ever seen, an angle that managed to capture the audience for six months, a near miracle in this day and age. If Punk and Jericho get freedom to really work then the potential for something special is there.

I hope you're wrong but im starting to think that you're not.

I'm beyond tired of Cena at this point. Stop playing the martyr, Cena.

ok i just finished raw..... what in the blue hell was that.

seriously its amazing he can get that kind of reaction without a word but come on all that build up and nothing

Jericho turned the crowd against him in a matter of minutes and he did it without speaking. I'd say that's something. We will find out more next week.

I'm still not seeing it. I'm seeing people cheering a man who was soaking in the adulation and then boos of disappointment because he had to leave without saying anything.

I'm still not seeing it. I'm seeing people cheering a man who was soaking in the adulation and then boos of disappointment because he had to leave without saying anything.

And Jericho acted like he was going to speak twice and left. He wanted the crowd to be disappointed. Why else would Lawler play it up as a WTF moment by asking what just happened? Jericho was being a buzzkill on purpose.

All of that was intentional. Jerichos too smart to not know exactly what he was doing and exactly what would happen. He was soaking in the adulation but it was plainly obvious he was exaggerating. he hasn't been gone THAT long. His recent hiatus wasn't nearly as long as his first one. But he played it up more last night than he did when he returned the first time to "Save Us" from Orton.

He knew that if he did the overeager act too long and didn't say anything that people would sour on it. What it means is the fascinating part.

People will cheer a returning star huge on that initial appearance but slowly the excitement fades. Its so predictable. I think Jericho knows that. Are they cheering the man or the return? How programmed is that audience?

He proved last time that he could play a crowd like a fiddle at this stage in his career and I think he proved it again last night.

If Jericho and Punk do feud it offers Punk something he hasn't had.. a villain on his level. Thats one thing thats slowed Punks momentum.

it's going to get alot more interesting with Jericho back.

hopefully, he will provide Punk with a much needed villain to feud with.

although, I'm glad Ziggler is getting a chance to shine.........

I could see Jericho costing Punk the title at Royal Rumble.......or, in a more "twisted" sense, cost Ziggler the title win, so that Punk will keep the title so that he (Jericho) can beat him instead.

and speaking of "programmed" audiences, I'm starting to wonder how many people are booing Cena now because they legit hate him, or because it is simply the "cool/popular" thing to do now ( since the crowd reaction to Cena is now part of the storyline )?

I'm feeling mixed about the Jericho return. Part of me (about 30%) feels this is less a case of intentional and smart crowd manipulation, and more a case where the WWE creative had no idea where to go after the video, and the rest of this execution will be an indifferent mess.

I would be funny if Jericho mentions taker and triple h doing something similar last year. Although their message was more apparent. Jerichos will be that they are all puppets.

A lot of people will hate Cena no matter what...even if the feeling isn't deeply personal.

But back to Jericho...he did a heel turn...without doing anything overtly heelish. A heel who tried to be friendly to everybody and shake their hands and high five them for as long a he could. Hell he didn't even look angry. Had a big smile on his face.

Its not often we see a heel like that. Its usually pretty straight forward. This has a layer on it we rarely ever see. Its not cookie cutter and I think thats why some people are interested.

What if this is his thing? A guy who wants to be the best babyface he can be and get the peoples admiration but they boo him? Thus making him a different kind of heel.

I mean...sh** it could basically be a commentary on the fans and how the heel/face dynamic has flipped on its ear over the last 15 years and affected everyone from Bret Hart to John Cena.

Cenas friendly...and people are sick of it. When Bret was fighting Austin Bret really wasn't saying anything all that untrue. They got heel reactions by not even playing heel.

it also reminds me of Punk's SES and Punk cashing in on Hardy. When he did it to Edge it was ok but when he did the same thing to Hardy he was a heel? A lot of the things CM Punk said weren't wrong. Drugs are bad. Its the execution of the message. The fans can be fickle.

Maybe Jericho's trying to make a point here. Whatever he did Monday I'm sure that was all part of his plan.

So Jericho wants to be John Cena?

So Jericho wants to be John Cena?

No...but it could be a commentary in part on John Cenas situation. The similarity entered my mind. But its way too early to say for sure. Its all a big mystery and pure speculation.

Update On RVD Possibly Returning To WWE - "Would Receive A Warm Welcome"

Posted by Daniel Pena on 01/03/2012

Regarding the online rumor of Rob Van Dam returning to WWE, Power Slam confirms in their latest issue that RVD is seriously considering returning to the organization once his contract with TNA Wrestling expires. The magazine adds that the feeling is mutual as people in WWE want the master of the Five-Star Frog Splash back.

"RVD from what we're told would receive a warm welcome in WWE," the magazine says.

Providing that no contract extension has been reached since his arrival to TNA Wrestling in March 2010, it would appear that Van Dam will be a free agent in the near future. It was reported in 2010 that RVD had signed a two-year contract with TNA.

During his hiatus from full-time wrestling, Van Dam said he would consider returning to WWE if and when he felt ready.

"One thing that's for sure is that WWE and I do have a good-faith understanding that if and when I'm ready to return that I’ll be talking to them. They look forward and hope that we'll be doing business again," he told the Baltimore Sun during an interview.

Van Dam, who turned 41 years old last month, performed for WWE from 2001 to 2007. Should RVD return to WWE, he would should join a select group of former WWE world champions—Booker T, Kevin Nash and Mick Foley—who joined TNA and ultimately returned to the Stamford based organization.
Can't find a source on this one so take it with a grain of salt. Interesting if true though.

WWE Officials Interested In Two TNA Knockouts

Posted by Daniel Pena on 01/03/2012

While no contact has been made, WWE officials are interested in acquiring TNA Wrestling stars Angelina Love and Velvet Sky should they become available.

WWE, as always, is looking to bolster their Divas division but the well of prospective female talent is these days considered dire. Company officials have soured on acquiring female talent with no prior wrestling experience and independent wrestlers are generally frowned upon. Love and Sky fit neither category. A source, however, indicates that the two Knockouts are comfortable in the Orlando based organization and would be hesitant about going through WWE's developmental system. Furthermore, Sky is locked in a multi-year contract with TNA, which she signed in 2010. Love's contract will expire in December.

The blonde starlets were at one point under the auspices of WWE; Angelina Love as a developmental talent and Velvet Sky as a Diva Search contestant. Both, however, were unproven at the time and summarily rejected. The two later joined TNA, where they would flourish as "The Beautiful People." The act was so successful that in a rarity, WWE saw fit to copy TNA by creating their own version of an arrogant female alliance with Lay-Cool.

I have a sneaking suspicion that this might be the beginning of a motivational speaker/youth minister heel character for Jericho. It's been done (DDP, Sean O'Haire) but if anybody can hit it out of the park and make people forget about the last aborted attempts at such a character, it's Jericho.

Angelina these days is really hard even for me to look at, and I've seen a lot in my life.

Velvet Sky is worth investing in, though: she's the closest thing to a Trish Stratus that's in the U.S. wrestling scene right now.
